>Cold Open
No cold open this week >Written By
Albro Lundy and James Siciliano
Lundy's writing credits: The Vat of Acid Episode (with Jeff Loveness), Mortyplicity, Rickternal Friendshine of the Spotless Mort, Solaricks, The Jerrick Trap (with James Siciliano)
Siciliano's writing credits: Morty's Mind Blowers (1 of 6 writers), Rattlestar Ricklactica, Childrick of Mort, Rick & Morty's Thanksploitation Spectacular, Analyze Piss, The Jerrick Trap (with Albro Lundy)
By both of them channeling the same creative juices used for Childrick of Morty and Rick & Morty's Thanksploitation Spectacular. Other than that, every one of their other episodes are either fine or of great quality.
I thought the use of Memory Rick was cool, the banter between Rick/Jerry/Jerricky/the family got a chuckle out of me here and there, and the cold open itself was better than both the rest of the episode and the season premiere combined. I'd say it was the worst of their best episodes.
is it really worth watching this newer season? Since Justin Roiland left there's probably a whole lot less incest, which was ofc the only reason I ever watched
To be honest this has been my biggest concern about Justin leaving. They've already gradually been shaving off that particular edge for years, in a way that seems fairly clearly related to Justin's influence over the show fading. Even if Justin has had no input into the writing for years, the circumstances of his departure could still make things worse, if they decide to try to do damage control by making a new rule in the writers' room to clamp down on anything that could be seen as pedo.
>entire episode is actually about rick prime and all sorts of shit with a lot of important development >right at the end rick wakes up and it was all a dream
This is unironically what the writers believe. That they can release low quality episodes and get away with it as long as they release a decent lore episode, then it redeems the whole season.
This is unironically what the writers believe. That they can release low quality episodes and get away with it as long as they release a decent lore episode, then it redeems the whole season.
it's straight up a carrot on a stick. >remember all this lore guys? >watch our show we might show a glimpse of development >better hyper analyze every detail about this episode about shitting yourself to death or else you'll miss it haha.
Alright, Cinemaphile. Place your bets! (Feel free to choose multiple additive guesses if you’re feelin’ lucky, punk): >Troll episode (not actually Rick Prime, but something goofy and barely canonical). >Misdirection episode (not actually Rick Prime, but serious and canonical). >Rick Prime episode, but the confrontation is a draw (Develops the plotline but doesn’t end it). >Rick Prime episode, Rick decisive victory, Rick Prime plotline essentially dropped. >Rick Prime episode, Rick Prime decisive victory, our Rick makes a gigantic sacrifice (himself or a friend, bonus points name the person/thing that is sacrificed). >Rick gets killed by Bigfoot this episode. >Thursday theory bears fruit this episode. >Anon’s parasite theory is proven correct this episode. >Evil Gene theory proven correct this episode. >Evil Summer was not a joke and it’ll be this episode. >How much of a player will Morty be (not relevant, relevant, instrumental, the main character of the episode)? >Free Space (describe your own theory here, the more specific and correct the more points you get).
Rick gets closer to finding Rick Prime, we get to learn more about his whereabouts but he doesn't hunt him down, also this episode will open up more plot threads that he'll have to solve for the next of the series.
This will be Rick Prime’s “Tales from the Citadel” episode. Set primarily in Rick’s past, this is going to flesh out the most backstory we’ve ever gotten. We’re gonna learn a lot more about Rick’s friends (Bird Person and Unity especially). Morty won’t really be relevant.
>Rick will get a big lead on Rick Prime >Morty will spend the episode having to do whatever Rick says >The conflict will get more and more morally grey, until Morty breaks, makes a move that botches the revenge for the sake of innocent people >Sacrifice of the episode will be the two have never been further apart (leading into Rickfending your Mort) >Rick Prime’s plotline will continue
lmao >implying morty's going to have a role at all
they don't want to write rick and morty. they want to write rick and lore. or rick and being forced to apologize and go to therapy
Man I'm watching last week's episode and I really can't get over the fact that they just straight up made the spaghetti people humans lmao. Not even trying anymore, not to say anything of mortys VA, just an all around travesty.
NTA but we're living in a time where writers are emotional crybabies with venting twitter accounts, of COURSE they'll play off any fuckup as "intentional"
Was all the aborted arcs intentional? Was the shit characterization intentional? Was Dr Wong intentional or was she some bitch's self insert?
stop asskissing random writers
It wouldn't bother me if it was alternate universe aka a portal thing and not space aliens that look like humans which is junk space ship thing.
It should have been a alternative earth not a planet
i never understood the whole selling to the entire galaxy thing. wont they sell out and have a hard time keeping up the population to feed even a neighboring planet?
If I ever make an emotionally driven song and my manager allows it to be used in a Rick and Morty montage I might just fucking end it all in all honesty I couldn't imagine a bigger insult to your career
The rick and morty youtube channels are gonna milk this for years
its a fine episode, lore episodes are never the best but they keep it going. better they hit us with movement to set up the rest of the season rather than more rickventures like the first 3 turds
Rick prime lost because he was a lone wolf
Our Rick won because he had help from a Morty.
Kinda poetic Prime loses because he never saw the value in a Morty

just might have been a bit more satisfying if Rick Prime was hiding behind a bunch of traps and distractions like that first hidden space station of his with all the timers, just for Rick or Evil Morty to figure out which is the real one and execute him. Having a big dumb Disney's Marvel's The Avenger's Endgame battle where they simply outfight Rick Prime because they pulled the most bullshit out of their asses is retarded, and queer.
I wanted Rick Prime to have become a godlike posthuman entity that Rick would have to use outside the box tactics to defeat, or something else more interesting than just another cyborg who goes down in a standard fight.
Well between the wolverine regen factor, his genius and his tech he basically already was. I mean what do you want?

Anonymous
The regen is the only thing that makes him stand apart from every other Rick, and it barely ended up mattering.

Rick Prime's regeneration was a total nothingburger in this episode unless the writers pull a dumb twist out of their asses later and go ummm actually he survived the beatdown you guys, I bet you didn't see that coming!
>Recap of Evil Morty's journey up to jumping in his yellow portal >sequence where we see the consequences of leaving the curve, i.e. infinite portal travelers and assorted chaos >Evil Morty grabs a gem in the chaos, take sit to his hideout to power his shields and seemingly shuts out the chaos of outside >shields fail because of what Rick is doing to find Rick Prime.
Rick Prime invents portal tech. He goes around handing it out to other Ricks. Then our Rick invents portal stuff and refuses the handout. This pisses Rick Prime off so Rick Prime kills our Rick's Beth and Diane. For an extra kick, Rick Prime also kills all the Dianes. Our Rick tries to hunt down Rick Prime, slaughters tons of Ricks, builds the citadel of Ricks, and even moves in with Rick Prime's family just for a chance to maybe ambush him. Rick finally caught Rick Prime this episode and killed him. Easy shit to understand.
Its probably going to be revealed that some other dimension hopper killed Rick Prime's wife which cascaded it. Our Rick only figured out portal travel in response to Rick Prime's shit right? Maybe Rick Prime was the same way but instead decided to be a little bitch about it and took out all Dianes as a "well all of me shouldnt get her either" thing.
The central finite curve block technically wasnt a thing at the time
>Some other dimension hopped killed Rick Prime's wife
I feel like that gives an excuse for Rick being so shitty. If someone does it, it should be a Rick to hammer home that he sucks. That or Morty in a fit of anger.
yes. Our Rick first just invented a blue teleportation portal and then Rick Prime shows up to tell him about interdimensional portals, which he turns down. after Diane blew up, Our Rick then copied the tech and made green portals.
I thought he was "our" Rick's main Morty considering the photo of Rick with baby Morty at Bird Person's house back at S1, but I'm sure they forgot all about that by now
It's reruns isn't it, the answer is reruns.
They also blew their load with Evil Morty in just one episode, so something tells me they aren't allowed to drag out lore episodes and they always have to be self-contained stories because otherwise these episodes can't be broadcasted over and over.
>The Rickshank Rickdemption
At least that had a story to uncover, and rick's past became a new part of the show. This? This solves that and the only thing left is evil morty, who no one cares about.
so this is a mistake on the writers' part, right? did they just see the writing on the wall and decide to cut away one the plot point so they don't have to commit to any more seasons?
No, they did the right thing. Rick now has space to grow as a fun character again, Morty has room to matter again and Evil Morty fills the spot of a bigger problem later. Literal best case scenario.
that was the best way to do it. the death-trap and battle with evil morty joining up was great, and that final scene with rick beating Rick prime to death while prime is hitting him with the most scathing dialogue and how fucked up our rick seems afterward. this is the best payoff we could ask for.
Because that would get boring. He could get a Jessica at any time he chooses, he's smart enough to realize that. That's like being thirsty and going to a planet that's 100% natural drinking water.j
I was a junior in high school when I first watched the pilot on as.com. I knew of Doc and Mharti from egoraptor's youtube favorites but I didn't put 2 and 2 together immediately
Because Rick Prime's character was not developed. His motivations weren't developed. His backstory wasn't developed. He was just some guy Rick killed.
At least Evil Morty's motivation and execution tied into the show's overarching themes of Rick's megalomaniac behavior and mistreatment of morty. What does Rick Prime tie into? Nothing. Just some guy who pissed rick off. He was the Big Bad but he went out like a chump.
When Rick went to Rick Prime's dimension, was Diane Prime already dead? Did Rick Prime kill his own wife to spite every version of himself, including the self that he is living and experiencing? Why would he do that? This shit was poorly explained for an exposition episode.
Getting the impression his Diana died and he became edgy, invented dimensional travel to find another Diane, which didn't feel the same and probably felt envious of other Ricks, and decided to kill their Dianes so they can be like him – which he considered himself “superior” to the others because of the loss and he had no attachments to anyone.
I bet it's something stupid like them getting divorced and Prime Rick going nuts because of that. You don't erase every version of a person simply out of grief and jealousy for alternate versions of yourself.
Actually, this is the only answer that would be satisfying. Imagine Rick Prime consoling himself that even though his wife left him, it was necessary in order to allow him to invent portal travel - then finding a version of himself that invented portal travel without getting a divorce.
I just assumed Rick Prime is just a straight psychopath and enjoys fucking with other Ricks. He didn't like that our Rick said no to him, so he decided to ruin his life by killing all Dianas, since he never really cared about his anyways. Along the way he just found that he liked screwing with other Ricks as a hobby, so he built some stuff for that purpose.
Best fucking episode of the whole series this is what I've wanted all along this is what the whole series was supposed to be about 10/10 this is the peak nothing will top this you will all seethe cope and mald about this episode forever
I don't know what to think about the episode. I feel as empty as Rick does.
Evil Morty legit just showed up and solved the whole plot. I thought Evil Morty was equal to Rick at best? He's straight up smarter and stronger. He handed Rick the win. What a retarded use of Evil Morty. This is straight up fanfiction tier.
Why even kill Rick Prime so early in the middle of a season? Is this it for lore episodes? Is it episodic from now on?
homosexuals like you that needs a universe for everything with story arcs that last lifetimes when this lasted a decade needs to fuck off.
i mean jesus fucking christ they will go through a few episodes of retirement depression and have shit go back to normal of random shit of the week or introduce another big bad
They can bring in whoever or whatever they want. Its a madhouse in the larger multiverse apparently with ever portal schmuck bouncing around like they are on crack
>Sets up Evil Morty as a bigger threat (which he already was compared to Rick Prime) >Makes Rick realize that he spent decades doing the literal equivalent of a dog chasing its own tail when he already had the good(ish) life (which was already set up previously)
I think it’s fine. Time will tell on if they end up using EM properly or not.
I feel you 100%
I wanted Evil Morty back but not like this, calling it fanfiction tier is right
If we are talking about how the fight was resolved, then Evil Morty's sleight of hand at the end seems fine in my eyes.
If we are talking about the context of his reappearance, then it was rather sudden to see him show up. It feels like they just got all the lore bits of the show done in one because it was convenient to do so.
Was anyone else underwhelmed by Rick Prime being just another Rick who gets beaten in a standard fight? This was the least creative way to end the plotline.
>Why did they have to get the bullshit over with in the least interesting way possible?
To subvert whatever dumb ass expectations you put into this fucking plot line. And if it didn't? Then that's your fucking baggage to deal with the same way Rick felt at the end.
>That's the point you fucking dumb ass, it's the writers giving you the middle finger and telling to you fuck off, the bullshit is over with.
Alright why are some of you anons in this thread so hostile? You come off as personally offended by other anon's reception to the ep with lines like this.
And yes, the episode feels like a rushed way to tie up the loose ends. Would be dissapointed if I had cared to begin with.
I was a bit confused why Rick Prime has a barrier to block random gunshots but then he just stops using it, then takes a gunshot to the face and instantly heals, but then he just stops healing
maybe it only blocks things it deems to be bullets
and since evil morty fired his fingers at him they weren't blocked
also might not work at close range which is how c137 shot him at one point in the fight
Oh no, Beth killed that guy and he grow a clone, Rick does a lot of unethical shit but I think just cloning his wife is out of the question otherwise he would have done it already. If Rick really want's his wife back he'd need some sort of Infinity Gauntlet/Dragon Ball level cosmic Deus Ex Machina for that
Rick would have to fess up to being a shitty father and face the possibility that she doesn't even want to be with him. We got a hint of that with his original world and that fake Diane voice. So even if he knows that he should try it, there's no way his heart is in it.
The way I read it, Evil Morty isn't better than Rick Prime. He was just a variable Rick Prime didn't account for and that made the difference for our Rick and Morty in the fight. Rick Prime could've solved for him just like he did the protagonist Rick but Rick Prime considers Rick and Morty shit beneath him.
Anyway, Evil Morty comes off like a tsundere bitch and I'll be surprised if he doesn't come back.
I want to find Summer attractive, but her tall head is just so off-putting. All other females have round heads, but hers is the same shape as Jerry's and it's fucking weird.
Yes, yes, all plot threads are resolved HOWEVER
GET ON THE BIGFOOT HYPE TRAIN
A HUNDRED MORE YEARS UNTIL THE EPIC BIGFOOT SAGA IS RESOLVED
I'M BIGFOOT RIIIIIIIICK
>no jokes >shit animation >big bad dies in generic fight with lasers >morty from RICK AND MORTY accomplishes nothing >In fact morty doesn't even exist this season. It's the Rick show >Bring back evil morty because the fans like him and you have no creativity left >Play old song fans remember from when the show wasn't as awful (And you still has creativity left) >Try to play up a "Vengeance doesn't satisfy" narrative, which would have worked but you didn't do anything to build it so it's as thought provoking as someone dropping a refrigerator on your head.
1/10
The show is dead. But at least I can stop watching now because with no interesting characters, plotlines, writing or comedy going on I can safely never tune into a rick and morty episode again.
>I'm glad this ending is making spergs like you mad.
You appear to be the only sperg mad in this thread. This and the other posts make it clear you are downright seething. A bunch of anons are dunking on the episode right now, but I doubt most critics even care enough to be angry at this point.
I mean what can main Morty do
He's not that bad overall but he's fighting alongside Rick and Evil Morty. Of course they're both going to far outskill him. Rick didn't even want our Morty to come.
I'm just gonna say that the show literally needed Morty to be present in the fight. A scene with just the two Evil ones and Rick would be an utter kill joy. Not a single bit of levity or a joke cracked between them. Maybe Prime would say a funny, but it would be more sadistic than anything.
Science. Evil Morty basically insinuated what Rick Prime's life was when he mentioned the doomsday device. It just put a massive target on his back so Rick Prime likely just sat in his hidey hole all day acting smarter than thou and constantly looking over his shoulder
Fuck rating the episode. Would you rather have Rick Prime stay alive, or are you happy he's dead? Personally, I kinda wish they kept him alive and did his death as this seasons finale. Then they can do whatever they want with making Rick sad next season.
No I am extremely happy he's dead and gone maybe now we can fucking evolve past the need to have villains and get back to fucking actually cool sci fi adventures
It was so bad I feel like I'm one of those coping lunatics who thought The Rickshank Redemption was a fake joke episode during the surprise April Fool's premiere and there was a real season premiere that would air later.
We don't actually know anything about Prine or his motivations for what he did, so the story is pretty lifeless. Our Rick cares, but the audeince hasn't spent much time with Diane to care by virtue of her death alone, nor have we spent enough time with Rick Prime to hate him. And now they've killed Prime off before the story actually went anywhere.
In previous episodes, the writers acted like they were going to do something with this plot, then they acted like they already did something in this episode, but they skipped the part where they actually did anything.
>In previous episodes, the writers acted like they were going to do something with this plot, then they acted like they already did something in this episode, but they skipped the part where they actually did anything.
Always the same thing with this show, isn't it?
they will take a page from the Saw movies and have Rick Prime continue to antagonize Rick despite being dead by means of ridiculous and increasingly improbably planned out traps with pre-recorded messages
[as] insider here
we left rick primes corpse out of the exit scene because his speech of "you are nothing without me" got to rick
rick prime is alive
evil morty will use the eliminator thing on everyone including himself to end the series
the last tag will just be black nothingness for the whole thing until a big bang
I would rather he stay alive, but our Rick got over his desire for revenge through some kind of meaningful scene. Then Prime Rick could be kept in the rogue's gallery for the possible future.
I would rather he stay alive, but our Rick got over his desire for revenge through some kind of meaningful scene. Then Prime Rick could be kept in the rogue's gallery for the possible future.
You know what, another issue with Prime Rick being dead is that Morty just lost his actual 'for real' Grandpa. Seems like a missed opportunity for interaction between the two.
I was thinking more along the lines of an episode where Morty get forcibly recruited by Rick Prime just to fuck with C-137.
And Morty gets to experience the wildest side of Rick while our Rick tries to track them down.
Dead so we don't get future episodes of other people from ricks past saying HEY DONT DO REVENGE, IT BAD FOR YOU WE WORRIED.
We're moving on, just adventures.
I’m really really happy that this is how things shaked out. Rick Prime represented an obstacle that would lock in Rick’s development in a place I didn’t want it to be. Now that he’s had his revenge, we can get a little fallout, and then back on fucking track.
If we can get Morty to a good place the show has its best status quo since S3E1 fucked it the first time.
looking back it makes sense that you have to kill all the "decoys" to kill rick prime, since those aren't really decoys as much as vessels for him to overtake any time. don't see why he wouldn'tt
they cut away before really confirming the kill and then Rick just comes out covered in blood. easily faked for a shitty future plot twist. dumber still would be if they try to bullshit some scenario where Rick Prime switched places with Rick when it cut away.
Why did none of the other Prime-hunting Ricks have force fields? Presumably they were smart enough to locate him to an extent, so why wouldn't that be something they considered? What the fuck was all that about?
>Can't be hurt because of magic force field tech >Super genius, smarter than rick >Solves all problems effortlessly >Constantly one upping people around him >defeats big bad with little effort >Throws out one-liners >never flustered or caught off guard
It wasn't even an Evil Morty thing because protagonist Rick had a force field as well. It would make sense if Rick Prime somehow disabled all the Ricks' cybernetics but he clearly didn't. Why would protagonist Rick be the only one who kept his on?
The Ricks all have their own gimmicks. Our Rick's gimmick is ridiculous overpowered cybernetics. Then there was Indiana Jones Rick. and it just wouldn't make sense for Indy to have a force field.
I'm with you. They spend most of the episode randomly shooting each other, just to confirm everyone has automatic force fields, but then when the Rick Prime fight goes down, suddenly they've all turned their shields off and Rick is getting shot in the head
They're all the same person with the only difference being their experience. The Rick Prime's experience shaped him to be the best Rick.
man its not about disliking a cartoon episode, its about disliking everything, people on tv shit on everything that wasnt made 15 years ago or more, people here always whine and complain about how this was better in season 1 or 2, it seems no one likes anything, and if you dont like anything then you must be the problem
and dont fucking come with me with your half asses memes or shitty comebacks, you know its true, its impossible to satisfy you motherfuckers
If something is shit, it is shit. When you taste greatness, you do not want to go back to eating slop. Simple ass.
>When you taste greatness, you do not want to go back to eating slop.
tell me the best movie ever made and i will find a thread with a bunch of people talking shit about it
what you have to understand is that good taste isnt being a nitpicky motherfucker that only can enjoy the 0.001% of movies, if you dont enjoy most movies its maybe because you dont enjoy movies at all, most movies are enjoyable enough to be good, you have some sort of problem if the only thing that can make you have fun is what you call "greatness" because thats how it works, the bar being high for you to enjoy something is not a sign of superiority, its a sign of depression
You people think that if someone doesn't like a cartoon they like, or even just some episodes of a cartoon they like, they must hate everything. You're acting as if you believe that reading a few posts by somebody about Rick and Morty can tell you everything about that person.
>or even just some episodes of a cartoon they like, they must hate everything.
im talking about the collective of this website, the opinions always stay the same no matter how good the episode is, no matter how good the movie is, it will be 70% of people hating or and the rest either neutral, shitposting, or actually enjoying it
It's just a fact of life that just as everything has its supporters, everything has its detractors too. Some people really do hate everything, but that doesn't mean that nobody should be allowed to voice their dislike of anything that you personally have decided shouldn't be disliked.
yeah i thought about that, but its just that there is way more hate than anywhere else, to the point where you have to ask why so many people hate things here, and again, its constant, its not like the better overall something is the more people like it, its always a constant of more people hating than liking it, and this does not happen anywhere else, even in places where people get attention for hating on things
>evil morty plot introduced in S1, resolved in S5 (4 seasons long) >dead wife mystery (also known as "fake backstory") plot introduced in S3, resolved in S5 (2 seasons long) >rick prime plot introduced in S6, resolved in S7 (1 season long)
They're introducing and resolving new plots at an exponential rate. If they keep this up, we'll soon reach a point where any new plot will be resolved by the end of the very episode it's introduced in, thus reaching critical episodicality.
I like how people who have lost their neuroplasticity with age cannot perceive everything new, everything new seems bad to them. It was better before and the grass was greener
man its not about disliking a cartoon episode, its about disliking everything, people on tv shit on everything that wasnt made 15 years ago or more, people here always whine and complain about how this was better in season 1 or 2, it seems no one likes anything, and if you dont like anything then you must be the problem
and dont fucking come with me with your half asses memes or shitty comebacks, you know its true, its impossible to satisfy you motherfuckers

I’m so happy that this was resolved now and they didn’t drag it out. Rick needs to find new purpose and that’s a huge growth opportunity for a more fun character.
Back half of the season looks to be Morty focused. Let’s fucking go.
I feel like Rick is done as a character now. All he can do now is return to being Season 1 Rick but even more pointless because there's no mystery to him and the family is no longer normal.
>He’ll have to grow back into wacky science Grandpa
But the family doesn't need that now that they're all lousy with wacky science shit. Rick has no place now. His only defining character traits are being depressed and drunk now.
Didn't the bomb that kill Diane also kill Beth? And since now it's been established that the bomb killed all the versions of Diane shouldn't that mean that all versions of Beth should be dead too.
No. He personally assassinated Rick's family and then he killed the concept of Dianne across infinity. They're two separate things he did to antagonize our Rick.
Even stranger that a weapon erased all versions of Diane, yet there's a whole bunch of shit made in the image of Diane and all of the Ricks remember her
I think Rick Prime added a special feature to his eraser in that their loved one is the only one to remember them. It explains how slo mobius' wife remembers him but not his kids.
I was gonna ask that exact same question but remembered Prime said he did that later meaning the bomb that killed them was just a bomb and not tied to the thing that wiped Dianne out of all existence
probably end up with emotionless sex because you are just a human and shes been to the ribbitydo system where everything is ribbitydoed for evolutionary purposes but she used for sex reasons like the spaghetti thing but not spaghetti
Jessica became a Time God and fucked off, hasn't been seen since. The last school episode was that one new guy who got mocked to shit after something he did following helping the car get laid.
School stopped mattering when things got serious. IF Morty really wanted the whole experience of school he could simulate, or get a GED like every other normal person who doesn't care about school enough but wants slip of paper to say they did a thing.
>Episode 6: Episode about testing Rick and Morty’s relationship, follow up to Roy 2, sad episode, ends with Morty wanting a normal life instead of Rick’s adventures (this is the blade episode) >Episode 7: Morty and Summer episode, school stuff, fleshing out old characters (I’m a leg, Morty!) >Episode 8: Goofy action episode, destroys the new status quo set up by Episode 7, Rick comes back into the fold >Episode 9: Rick gets killed by bigfoot and you WILL cry (super saiyan monkey boogers) >Episode 10: Dark episode… unsure
This would have been a retarded episode for the finale because it closed so many plot lines. People would have nothing to talk about for the year leading up to S8
the Diane erasure doesn't really make sense. If it was anything like Slow Mobius, with the initial killing of a Diane, all other Diane's just disintegrated, how would the other Ricks even know it was Rick Prime who did it?
It doesn’t make sense because it’s sloppy writing they couldn’t work around >entire plot of show is everything is infinite so nothing matters >ok we need drama for Ricks wife but he can just go get a new one >ok someone used the magic delete them all forever Gun on her ok?
He probably handpicked a small number of Ricks to have their Diannes personally assassinated by him and then just chucked a random Dianne in the machine to create the rest of the lesser Ricks.
Oh wow, Amongst the last words Rick Prime heard:
Rick Prime:"Hey, You're pretty cool. Would you like to team up?We could be like batman and Robin."
Evil Morty:"Meh, I don't really need a robin."
Oh my God thats one of the greatest put dwns of this show.
Evil Morty being a mini-Rick shows that they actually understand that Morty needs to be his own character again.
Rick getting his revenge (losing his purpose) shows that they understand that this can’t be the Rick show anymore.
Call me crazy, but I actually think they’re making the right moves.
They let AI fart out 2 and half seasons worth of episode prompts, finish their contract and fuck off. R&M cultural relevance has already cratered so it doesn’t matter
I felt satisfied as someone who cared about the story, more than really any of the major threads before. Didn’t drag it out, didn’t do some pussy shit that “if you kill me you’re just as bad as me” or anything. Rick Prime served his purpose, to give Rick a temporary meaningful purpose that is the origin of his flawed worldview, and in his death, he leaves a void that needs to be filled with meaning outside of revenge. Rick’s character is in the best position its been in many seasons.
Looked settled to me. Evil Morty wants to live in peace outside the curve. He has a weapon to use against Rick IF he tries to fuck with him. If evil Morty is left alone he has no beef
>Morty finally gets a date with Jessica >B plot is Summer get infected by a horny space virus >Morty wanders off from Jessica and ends up getting forced to fuck Summer >Jessica finds them because she went to loom when Morty didn’t come back >tells them not to stop because she is going to watch
>Morty peen in Summer vajay >Jessica 'likes to watch'
Damn add in a few more things and we might manage to hit fetish bingo. Maybe morty and evil morty should kiss just for the extra 'cest.
I thought the bomb or whatever was just for killing all infinite versions of a person and not doing this memory erasing thing, but then the time kid not remembering her dad implies that it was some kind of existence eraser, yet the wife still remembered him. what a bunch of trash
>I thought the bomb or whatever was just for killing all infinite versions of a person and not doing this memory erasing thing, but then the time kid not remembering her dad implies that it was some kind of existence eraser, yet the wife still remembered him. what a bunch of trash
The girl didn't remember him because she was young when he died, you dunkass.
His base? You mean where he keeps all his stuff? Where he keeps all the defense tech necessary to ward off vengeful Ricks? Where he is at the most advantage? Why is he there when C-137 comes to attack him? C'mon man thats a self answerer.
Like I give a fuck about your internet attention you childrens cartoon watching fuck go eat a salad and lay off the burgers I'm literally a millionaire bite me
few nitpicks like evil morty's screen appearing from left to right to the viewer but wrong from his POV, and the fight between rick prime didn't really top what we've seen before like rick vs bird person/phoenix person
would've been better with roiland of course, but still 8.8-9 imo
also a bit weird during the fight how much Morty kept having to manually press the eyepatch, rather than it just doing shit, like scanning incoming attacks
Evil Morty just handing Rick the win over Rick Prime leads me to believe he didn't actually kill him. Beat the shit out of him, then let him go and became catatonic at the fact that he spent all that time and effort tracking the dude just to spare his life
>"""""""""people"""""""" still bitching about some unfunny rapist not voicing the characters anymore
Man, people will really bitch about anything on the internet.
Not only his voice acting was mediocre, but his writing was terrible, which is even more evident in all his other flopped projects.
Parasocial relationships are something else.
Alright calm down. Everything aside, one of my foremost complaints would be how the voice of the morty's hit my ear wrong. Didn't care for their lines.
Same. I do blame Roiland for getting fired though. Not for moral reasons, I just think he should have been smarter and thought more about consequences in advance.
Alt ending...
C-137 give Rick Prime one last devastating punch and the lights go out....
Rick Prime wakes up in a clone tube and yells out, "Fuck yea! There one back up clone body they didn't find! Fuck You simp Rick!"
Then out of nowhere a voice blares out "REROUTED! REROUTED! REROUTED!
The lights come up and to Rick Primes horror theres a video recording of evil Morty sarcastically waving goodbye to him as he s blended to oblivion.
>old good new bad
You subhuman vultures will pick literally anything. >ugh ricks cars passenger side garbage can is 1 pixel higher than it should be >unwatchable shit show
So was Evil Morty's shift to evil just a sudden thing or was it premeditated? Because if he could just invent a mind control eyepatch in the span of a single night, then how the fuck was ever a sidekick to begin with?
More than that, is Evil Morty just naturally smart, or are all Mortys just able to one day go full sicko mode if they stop giving a shit and just become completely and totally decisive and confident?
>Death has the potential to matter again >Rick can finally grow beyond his crybaby backstory >Morty is going to contrast against Evil Morty, leading to a character that can contrast Rick again >Morty episodes incoming
They’re on the right path.
>mandatory Summer X Morty service this season >so look forward to Wet Hot Amortican Summer
God I hope. I just feel like Morty and Summer are an underutilized pairing for adventures to start with. Those two need to hang with each other more.
>New actors are soulless
I know not everything is black and white but this insinuates the other guy has more soul when it can not be more apparent he does not care for the show lmao
They're redubbing old animation animated over the old dub, I quite frankly couldn't give a fuck this season, they're not bad they're not good they are literally just replacements this season.
Their voices debuted with this season but their characters are what debut next season
That's just the way of the world these days. If only the whole world could judge me for some things I may have said at some point in the past. Gotta learn to have a filter no matter what you say or joke about, even texts can come back to get you.
I wouldn't know if lore eps tend to get much more traction than standalones. Just surprised by the depth of discussion for the thread. Was thinking interest had died down.
Yeah, I’m much more excited for post-Rick Prime than I ever was for hunting Rick Prime. It was cool and all, but let’s move on. Now that Rick is truly without purpose, what will he do now?
I'm not at all opposed to the idea of Rick having a reckoning with what it means to achieve your life's mission to revenge-kill your enemy, but I don't like how quickly we've come to that point and how the episode unfolded. Would've been better as a season finally after more build up or a mid-season finale in 8.
Fair enough, but it may be their execution of Rick's backstory to begin with that left them with little to stretch out.
Remains to be seen what the future storylines they will come up with after this plot will be. Evil versions of the main duo make for easy material to revisit in this show I would think.
What stood out to me most in this one is the line "You would've been me, I just walked into your garage before you walked into mine" which makes me think this might be the most similar version of himself he's actually met, or even the most exactly alike. imo that's what the dissolution scene was mainly getting at and I liked the parallels between the one of Morty after also killing and burying himself because of his choices
To be honest I don't even know if that's the case since imo the episodes after the 2nd season are either a hit or a miss. I guess excluding s07e01, then maybe you really could say this is the best season since 2, especially if they go back to regular Rick and Morty (and Summer) adventures in the next few episodes with Rick trying to ponder his life after he met his lifetime goal.
I remember everyone saying Interdimensional Cable 2 was shit so I never watched it. Watched it for the first time recently, they were right. Feels like a compilation of Roilland takes that were too shitty for the first one.
Granted S7E1 was straight up shit, yeah. This season (and the last one) shows me the writers have finally identified where the show went off the tracks and they’re putting in the work to fix it. Rick as a character was written out of his corner (from CHADGOD OF THE UNIVERSE back to a person who needs to confront himself to carry on). Morty hasn’t been written better than S3E4 in a LONG time, and this episode shows me they know where they’re taking him too. I have confidence that the modern version of the show is heading in a better place than it was going to in S4 and S5.
This entire season has been growing pains. They want a new (better) status quo for the back leg of the show and I think they’re doing it.
Ricks balls were getting too big. This isn’t anime, Rick being an invincible god was getting old fast.
Morty is on an off. Sometimes he has a big nutsack (this very season where he is selling crystals) and other times he goes back to being a whiny retard who can’t do anything

they had him groveling to scientologists last episode
God Rick was a mistake and Rick will not be therapy Rick forever. What he becomes soon is what we actually want/need.
Morty is growing next.
Yep, I definitely feel like Seasons 6 and 7 were a step in the right direction, although so far I haven't found Season 7 to be quite as funny as the earlier seasons, but I guess it's not the fault of the episodes themselves. I don't expect them to be funny all of the time and it's alright to acknowledge that. But so far S7E1 and S7E3 try to be the funny but most of the jokes just don't land for me. I just hope that along with [...], we just get back to Seasons 1 & 2 quality of shenanigans for the second half. A man can dream.
The show has not been as funny as it should be. My hope is that once the new status quo is established they’ll be able to focus more on that aspect.

One more point:
I’m expecting some Morty growth before we jump right into classic Adventure episodes. The writers have shown they haven’t given up genuinely trying. Season 7 feel like an earnest, effortful attempt at steadying the course.

Roilandfags BTFO! "Rick and Morty" S07 transcended into a god-tier show! One more season like the current one and nobody will even remember Creepoiland existed before...
>Some people actually wanted RP dragged out another season >Some people actually wanted Rick’s revenge to be portrayed as a 100% cathartic release for the character
not OP but also my takeaway in thinking he has complete control of his universe he killed what he then realized what the person who would do exactly what he would do in his circumstances and now has to face that reality
Season 6 was about ending God Rick: The Invincible, establishing the universe that matters and the family that matters.
Season 7 is (so far) about Rick being workshopped into a person that can exist beyond his past and single-minded purpose. I think by the season’s end the relationship between Rick and Morty is gonna get reforged in a big way.
>showed that they still remember s1ep10 in the beginning >STILL haven't provided the actual reason why Evil Morty was torturing all those other versions of himself beyond what was needed to conceal his hideout
I'd say just trickle down effects of being Rick's grandson, being as smart as he is or maybe the Rickest Morty it makes sense he wouldn't gaf about harming infinite versions of himself and even take pleasure in it
Was probably him working out his aggression against other mortys before realizing it's pointless >I'd hate you sellout morties more than the ricks you worship if there was any reason
There's nothing left as far as a storyline goes, what the fuck are you talking about
Rick has never been in a more interesting position as a character than he’s been right now, with the exception of the Season 2 ending. His purpose has just been destroyed, you think the story is really over? That they’re just gonna sweep that under the rug and not explore the fallout?
Yeah, because what I want from a sci-fi/comedy/adventure is Rick battling with losing his purpose in a fucking therapist's office for the next three seasons, oh boy
Where do you think he’s gonna find his purpose, dingus? Rick needs to grow to care about shit again and get his mojo back. Morty and adventures are the path to that. It’s only by reaching out into the world that he can unlearn that nothing matters.
It's a sci-fi comedy juxtaposed with a family drama, that was the original pitch of the entire show. It's why most of it is stupid and the lore-centric episodes always breathe life back into it

Not to deny some of the stupid fun episodes have decreased in quality but when the story forces itself back into the narrative it always makes sense contextually

Kino incoming.
>the writers
i cant even image how this could be bad
By both of them channeling the same creative juices used for Childrick of Morty and Rick & Morty's Thanksploitation Spectacular. Other than that, every one of their other episodes are either fine or of great quality.
>Other than that, every one of their other episodes are either fine or of great quality.
...even the Jerrick Trap?
I thought the use of Memory Rick was cool, the banter between Rick/Jerry/Jerricky/the family got a chuckle out of me here and there, and the cold open itself was better than both the rest of the episode and the season premiere combined. I'd say it was the worst of their best episodes.
You forgot to post the stream, bro.
Why did they start doing that retarded thing where they have to force the words "Rick" and "Morty" into every episode title?
It's like Family Guy with the word death
since Season 1
Yay! I can't wait for my favorite le funny reddit meta cartoon, "Rick" to have another highlarious episode!!!!
Rick and the women who upstage him
I bet Rick Prime dies
is it really worth watching this newer season? Since Justin Roiland left there's probably a whole lot less incest, which was ofc the only reason I ever watched
he hasnt been on the writing team for a while there will probably be more incest
Justin's the pedo, Dan's the incestfag.
Ironic considering Dan Harmon fucked a baby doll on video
Ermmm, broh?
?t=46
To be honest this has been my biggest concern about Justin leaving. They've already gradually been shaving off that particular edge for years, in a way that seems fairly clearly related to Justin's influence over the show fading. Even if Justin has had no input into the writing for years, the circumstances of his departure could still make things worse, if they decide to try to do damage control by making a new rule in the writers' room to clamp down on anything that could be seen as pedo.
>entire episode is actually about rick prime and all sorts of shit with a lot of important development
>right at the end rick wakes up and it was all a dream
Solar Opposites already did this. If Rick And Morty does this people will complain that Solar Opposites already did it and they will be right.
This show is so boring, why the fuck I liked it back then?
Because it was good back then.
S1/2 are still good, writing got way worse, more self aware and bitter of its popularity
So far this seasons been a real dud, hopefully this one gets it back a bit.
Feels like the show has no balls anymore.
sorry roiland you aint getting more views for your residuals
>lorekino tonight
This will make up for the last 4 episodes being slop
This is unironically what the writers believe. That they can release low quality episodes and get away with it as long as they release a decent lore episode, then it redeems the whole season.
>having expectations
it's straight up a carrot on a stick.
>remember all this lore guys?
>watch our show we might show a glimpse of development
>better hyper analyze every detail about this episode about shitting yourself to death or else you'll miss it haha.
thanks.

pretty much this, the after credits will show him surviving by using a clone body or something and we don't hear from him til next season or two.
Alright, Cinemaphile. Place your bets! (Feel free to choose multiple additive guesses if you’re feelin’ lucky, punk):
>Troll episode (not actually Rick Prime, but something goofy and barely canonical).
>Free Space (describe your own theory here, the more specific and correct the more points you get).
post the mega homosexual no one cares
The episode won't even start airing for thirty minutes, you dumb animal.
Rick gets closer to finding Rick Prime, we get to learn more about his whereabouts but he doesn't hunt him down, also this episode will open up more plot threads that he'll have to solve for the next of the series.
Rick Prime appears but misdirection then lore
Parasite theory?
Someone made a theory that a lot of characters across the entire series are more advanced versions of the parasites from S2E4.
>Rick will get a big lead on Rick Prime
>Morty will spend the episode having to do whatever Rick says
>The conflict will get more and more morally grey, until Morty breaks, makes a move that botches the revenge for the sake of innocent people
>Sacrifice of the episode will be the two have never been further apart (leading into Rickfending your Mort)
>Rick Prime’s plotline will continue
lmao
>implying morty's going to have a role at all
they don't want to write rick and morty. they want to write rick and lore. or rick and being forced to apologize and go to therapy
Mort's in the title of the episode. No way they do that for a Mortyless episode.
Rickternal Friendshine of the Spotless Mort
Fuck you're right
Unity dies.
>all these options
>no evil Morty
>that’s what it was
Probably because when he fucked off, we all expected him to fuck off
He's basically a boomerang
Man I'm watching last week's episode and I really can't get over the fact that they just straight up made the spaghetti people humans lmao. Not even trying anymore, not to say anything of mortys VA, just an all around travesty.
You think that was a lack of effort and not a deliberate choice? Is it hard to watch cartoons with that low of an IQ?
NTA but we're living in a time where writers are emotional crybabies with venting twitter accounts, of COURSE they'll play off any fuckup as "intentional"
Was all the aborted arcs intentional? Was the shit characterization intentional? Was Dr Wong intentional or was she some bitch's self insert?
stop asskissing random writers
It wouldn't bother me if it was alternate universe aka a portal thing and not space aliens that look like humans which is junk space ship thing.
It should have been a alternative earth not a planet
>Justin’s drunk again
We’re all gonna get through this together, bud.
damn, she got a fat booty

Justin happily retired like he did from Squanch Games 🙂

Wow Morty's voice is terrible. The cadence is very accurate but he definitely sounds more "pubescent"
Justin Roiland larper
Rick Prime episode?
I think I got a working stream, are they doing a re-run of that cry baby spaghetti episode
ye
Gracias
Yes, AS always reruns the previous episode before premiering a new one.
Here we go boys big lore time all the old characters coming back will make sense soon
i never understood the whole selling to the entire galaxy thing. wont they sell out and have a hard time keeping up the population to feed even a neighboring planet?
just don't think about it. all you need to know is its a poor metaphor for veganism. writers prioritize the message over actual logic or entertainment
If I ever make an emotionally driven song and my manager allows it to be used in a Rick and Morty montage I might just fucking end it all in all honesty I couldn't imagine a bigger insult to your career
if your manager doesn't consult you first then you have a shit one.

Holy shit, Morty's voice somehow got worse
Could it be that Roiland was holding this show back?
TIME FOR 19 INCHES OF VENOM!
Why would one VA be holding the show back?
no dan, fuck off
He was still on this season before he got redubbed.
>Shouldn't you be turning yourself into a pickle?
>max payne rick
Rick Prime is going around killing wives of himself?
Why don't they just find a Rick with a Diana and wait?
Apparently Prime wiped her from all realities
Can't wipe something from infinite.
Then he's either a liar or smarter than you
He's a liar, he's being written by a woman right now so he can't be smarter.
infinity isn't as infinite as it may seem
>some infinities are bigger than others

This episode is just making me miss Justin's voice even more
>The worse turd is a pizza
the fuck does that even mean?
Because it makes other turds suffer I guess.
Thats why you are a regular morty
The worst turds splatter
pizzas arent turds, thus being the worst turd
>eating pussy wasn’t censored
AS is growing
>You sucked at eating pussy!
Women writers, everybody.
Anon can't eat pussy
How do you eat pussy correctly? You just lick the insides of it, right?
Do you eat God's other gifts by licking the insides of it? No you chew and bite into that shit, pull it apart with your teeth and shit
more of an outside play with lots of clit action, but more in the general rythym and understanding the body language than pure motion
given how rick is an unsympathetic asshole, it would be like the scene from watchmen but with an dickhead
Spell the word "CONTINUE" with your tongue. And yes, it's case sensitive.
awful
Is Rick's wife voiced by the chick that does haruko from flcl?
yeah
She's, like, every other woman in this show.
She's been voicing multiple characters on the show, including Jessica and Rick's car.
This might actually be worse than the other episodes this season. Well, maybe not the premiere.

MORTY WENT WITH EVIL MORTY
Best episode in the season so far.
mare the Morties gonna kiss?
Bringing Evil Morty into this just feels weird
Like they wanna prove a point that doesn't need to be
He is going to be the key to killing Rick Prime as Rick Prime would never take ant Morty seriously
antilore fags getting BTFO'd
Wasn't the godfather rick already dead?
What are the chances that there was only one of them?
we got a good episode atlast
Good so far.
Worst b episode of the series no jokes, not even attempts just leapest door shit
I'm making athf threads when the new season premieres, whether you like it or not
They're certainly gonna be more worthwhile than threads for this shit.
we have rick and morty replacement voices, we dont care about athf anymore
t. discovery exec
The rick and morty youtube channels are gonna milk this for years
its a fine episode, lore episodes are never the best but they keep it going. better they hit us with movement to set up the rest of the season rather than more rickventures like the first 3 turds
I wanna like the episode, but I know It would've been 10x better if Roiland were still voicing them.
Yeah, same. I think Justin's guilty and don't necessarily want him back, just wish none of that shit happened.
Im missing it wahhh wahhh wahhh not the lore noooo wherew the torrents where's the megas!!!!
They should've just left Evil Morty alone and leave his fate ambiguous, but whatever maybe they'll do something interesting with him
why is evil morty in this though
he just said because if they get wiped out from all universes then evil morty gets wiped out too
>Dead Wife Rick
evil morty's voice is rough
Wow, Rick Prime is a major dick.
Deep cut
I knew the car sounded like his wife.
only because I told you
No, I theorized for a while that the car's AI was based off his wife.
UNCLE SLOW NOOOO
slow mobius' design is so season 1
he clashes with everyone else
>Kirby Super Star.
Fuck yes, someone else who noticed
It ended like THAT??? LMAO THEY FUCKING HATE THE 'LORE'
Did the animation budget take a cut this season? This looks terrible.
MEGA?!?!
tron
>Evil Morty is the one who stop Rick Prime
This feels underserved
How are torrents already out lmao, is it straight to streaming services on some apps or some shite
So Evil Morty is the apex of the universe.
where are the bloody jokes?
Well, that scene was pretty bloody
If you didn't wanna be found then don't fucking walk into town!
>We still don't know why he did it
Because the other rick was the only other one to discover dimension travel
>create portal tech
>kill the other guy who creates portal tech
>wipe all traces of his wife from every dimension for an extra kick
Kinda tragic, in a way.
>tfw you realize there’s gonna be a rick and morty anime later
Rick Prime storyline over.
>le sad song
Oh hell yeah mazzy star
Theres your lore bomb episode, never ask for it again
Did Rick just give himself PTSD for the first time in the series?
i know next weeks promo is giving it away but that was rick realizing he peaked and not much else to do
He accomplished the goal thats been driving him for 40 years and nothing changed
Primebros....????? It can't end like this, right????? Right??????
rate it homosexuals
2/10
8/10 exactly what needed to happen for this show to get better. Next week seals the deal.
7 maybe 8
I think if they actual commit to this being the end of the prime rick stuff that's great.
Way more interested in Rick having to deal with his motivation being gone then the whole actual rick prime stuff.
Same way the Evil Morty plan being to fuck off is way more interesting then him having some generic evil plan.
10/10, exactly what everyone wanted (outside of people who just come to this thread to whine)
>everyone wanted a generic fight episode
Okay what did you want, both ricks to command armies like a videogame or something
Rick outsmarting Rick Prime maybe. Checkmating him in a clever way.
I wanted Rick Prime to have become a godlike posthuman entity that Rick would have to use outside the box tactics to defeat, or something else more interesting than just another cyborg who goes down in a standard fight.
>outside the box tactics to defeat
Evil Morty isn't "outside the box" of Rick tech?
No because how Evil Morty beat him wasn't anything special.
Well between the wolverine regen factor, his genius and his tech he basically already was. I mean what do you want?
The regen is the only thing that makes him stand apart from every other Rick, and it barely ended up mattering.
Rick Prime's regeneration was a total nothingburger in this episode unless the writers pull a dumb twist out of their asses later and go ummm actually he survived the beatdown you guys, I bet you didn't see that coming!
best episode of the season/10
More like best episode of the series/10
UNCLE SLOW!!!
So this really came and went, with no build-up or anything eh
>Rick could have had this better outcome of revenge
wholesome
I missed the first part of the episode but I think I got the gist of it.
First part went
>Recap of Evil Morty's journey up to jumping in his yellow portal
>sequence where we see the consequences of leaving the curve, i.e. infinite portal travelers and assorted chaos
>Evil Morty grabs a gem in the chaos, take sit to his hideout to power his shields and seemingly shuts out the chaos of outside
>shields fail because of what Rick is doing to find Rick Prime.
So what does Rick do now?

learn to fuck off..... like Evil Morty
I was honestly expecting him to leave the family at the end of the episode. It seemed like what they were building to.
The family doesn't really need him around anymore and he accomplished his mission. He has no more attachment to these people.
>they actually closed up their biggest plot line
Didn’t think they had the balls to do this
Can someone explain to me what exactly the storyline of this was? Never understood all the Rick backstory stuff.
go to youtube and look up rick and morty ending explained
Im gonna be honest with you anon
Its not a hard plot to understand
It was literally giving the viewers what they wanted, end of a saga. You're fucking welcome, now shut the fuck up about it.
kinda like a highlander situation
Rick prime killed our Rick's Diane and our Rick has been searching for him non stop
I get that part, but how was our Morty Prime's Morty?
that was the thing last season where Our Rick planted himself with Prime Morty family in case he ever came back.
I don't know why they originally said that story was made up, only to make it real anyway.
The central finite curve block technically wasnt a thing at the time
>Enter Rick Alpha.
>Some other dimension hopped killed Rick Prime's wife
I feel like that gives an excuse for Rick being so shitty. If someone does it, it should be a Rick to hammer home that he sucks. That or Morty in a fit of anger.
Didn't Our Rick perfect portal travel after Diane dying
yes. Our Rick first just invented a blue teleportation portal and then Rick Prime shows up to tell him about interdimensional portals, which he turns down. after Diane blew up, Our Rick then copied the tech and made green portals.
are they implying that Evil Morty is Rick Prime's Morty?
No, Rick Prime's Morty is the main Morty, thats canon.
Rick Prime's Morty is "our" Morty. We dont know Evil Morty's whole deal
I thought he was "our" Rick's main Morty considering the photo of Rick with baby Morty at Bird Person's house back at S1, but I'm sure they forgot all about that by now
the intro literally was Evil Morty's deal!
Meant more how he got that prepped and if it happened before the CFC construction
It seems clear he retained most of what he learned from being around Rick rather than be ignorant like the average Morty
How many fucking times are gonna callback to something they already did at the end of an episode?
For the love of god give us a mega!!
Depressed Rick is just regular Rick
the post credit scene kinda rocked
So we don't need to watch the series anymore?
I mean Rick prime is gone, Evil Morty fucked off again.
Never live your life for vengeance.
>story takes away its main driving force in the course of 1 episode, with 2.5 more seasons to go
So what now?
Well that was underwhelming.
Seriously. What are they thinking with this?
Shows over
Watch something else
takes away its main driving force in the course of 1 episode
Damn, just like The Rickshank Rickdemption
Why do they keep doing this?
It's reruns isn't it, the answer is reruns.
They also blew their load with Evil Morty in just one episode, so something tells me they aren't allowed to drag out lore episodes and they always have to be self-contained stories because otherwise these episodes can't be broadcasted over and over.
good explanation
>The Rickshank Rickdemption
At least that had a story to uncover, and rick's past became a new part of the show. This? This solves that and the only thing left is evil morty, who no one cares about.
>LOOK THEY DID IT AGAIN
so fucking soulless
>two characters that are antagonistic towards each other work together for a common goal
Damn, they got me with the most kino of tropes
so this is a mistake on the writers' part, right? did they just see the writing on the wall and decide to cut away one the plot point so they don't have to commit to any more seasons?
No, they did the right thing. Rick now has space to grow as a fun character again, Morty has room to matter again and Evil Morty fills the spot of a bigger problem later. Literal best case scenario.
Cant believe they killed Cronenberg Jerry for this
what’s the over arching plot now
Props to them for actually ending the Rick Prime plotline instead of dragging it out, didn't think they'd have the balls.
So why was Rick Prime looking sad about killing all Slow Mobiuses?
It was his Slow Mobius too. Why he felt the need to do this shit at all is the real question. Probably just hates himself
Because he was his uncle too. He is an asshole, not heartless
The implication is that Slow Mobius is Rick's actual, legitimate, blood related uncle.
And even Rick Prime loved his uncle.
That was it?
That's how they kill off rick prime?
that was the best way to do it. the death-trap and battle with evil morty joining up was great, and that final scene with rick beating Rick prime to death while prime is hitting him with the most scathing dialogue and how fucked up our rick seems afterward. this is the best payoff we could ask for.
GTA IV did it better.
Why doesn’t Evil Morty just settle down in the always topless Summer universe?
Because that would get boring. He could get a Jessica at any time he chooses, he's smart enough to realize that. That's like being thirsty and going to a planet that's 100% natural drinking water.j
I would never get tired of my sisters tits swinging around
I have a sister and let me tell you, when you're not completely fucked in the head your sister's breasts aren't sexual in any way.
it's been 10 years apparently, but why does this conclusion not feel like 10 years in the making?
because no ending will ever satisfy everyone in any show or situation
>it’s been 10 years already
Rick Prime is just the purest version of Rick. It's only his presence that creates our version of Rick.
Rick Prime was a poor explanation for why Rick "left" for 20 years before season 1
>People thinking Show is over because no rick prime
So you all watched season 1 and 2 because of
Good now that the rick prime shit is dealt with we can go back to adventures
It’s fun to see all the people who were wrong. They gained nothing.
When Rick went to Rick Prime's dimension, was Diane Prime already dead? Did Rick Prime kill his own wife to spite every version of himself, including the self that he is living and experiencing? Why would he do that? This shit was poorly explained for an exposition episode.
it wasn't explained. Evil Morty even points that out.
I think his Diane died somehow and if he can't have his Diane no one can.
How does erasing a person work given the infinity? Seems like you could cheat that
Not with a weapon strong enough.
Poor Rick.
Damn lame. Eat shit Harmon.
idk when the mega is coming
but it's on kimcartoon.
thanks bro
Is the fucking sasquatch guy or whatever really gonna be next overarching plot
Bringing Evil Morty back is just fanservice. You know a series has lost all originality when it's just "DUDE REMEMBER?"
What if that’s how they wanted you to feel
you're giving hartman too much credit
homosexuals like you that needs a universe for everything with story arcs that last lifetimes when this lasted a decade needs to fuck off.
i mean jesus fucking christ they will go through a few episodes of retirement depression and have shit go back to normal of random shit of the week or introduce another big bad
>introduce another big bad
But that's part of the problem. It doesn't get much bigger than an Evil Rick.
evil dinos
Given Evil Morty and the infinity shit Rick prime is inconsequential.
Pure good Rick
They can bring in whoever or whatever they want. Its a madhouse in the larger multiverse apparently with ever portal schmuck bouncing around like they are on crack
Doofus Jerry
Evil Summer?
The Jerry Who Laughs
That time guy's wife ended up having the same arc as C137 rick, so maybe Rick isn't the original entity behind the cycle.
Double that with the Jettsons knockoffs in the infinity
Calling it now Rick Prime was collateral to what was really Diane's story like a 1 to 1 of Slowmobius death and fallout.
>Sets up Evil Morty as a bigger threat (which he already was compared to Rick Prime)
>Makes Rick realize that he spent decades doing the literal equivalent of a dog chasing its own tail when he already had the good(ish) life (which was already set up previously)
I think it’s fine. Time will tell on if they end up using EM properly or not.
>He handed Rick the win.
This is what bothers me the most
I mean, Morty is Rick's grandson. Is it really out of the question that a Morty could become as smart or smarter than Rick?
I feel you 100%
I wanted Evil Morty back but not like this, calling it fanfiction tier is right
If we are talking about how the fight was resolved, then Evil Morty's sleight of hand at the end seems fine in my eyes.
If we are talking about the context of his reappearance, then it was rather sudden to see him show up. It feels like they just got all the lore bits of the show done in one because it was convenient to do so.
Was anyone else underwhelmed by Rick Prime being just another Rick who gets beaten in a standard fight? This was the least creative way to end the plotline.
>Rick Prime being just another Rick
What did you want, Rick Prime turns out to be God?
I was expecting him to be something like an AI hivemind.
Why did they have to get the bullshit over with in the least interesting way possible?
>Why did they have to get the bullshit over with in the least interesting way possible?
To subvert whatever dumb ass expectations you put into this fucking plot line. And if it didn't? Then that's your fucking baggage to deal with the same way Rick felt at the end.
>I expected the writers to be more creative, but they weren't! So clever!
Whatever dumb fuck the rides over, you can fucking leave now.
Why would I leave? The show is declining in quality but it's still entertaining enough.
MY EXPECTATIONS WERE SUBVERTED! BRAVO NOLAN
Oh, shit. There was a Kirby reference?
>This was the least creative way to end the plotline.
That's the point you fucking dumb ass, it's the writers giving you the middle finger and telling to you fuck off, the bullshit is over with.
Would be dissapointed if I had cared to begin with.
it was a great fight, and they just barely beat him. if evil morty hadn't helped rick would've just been slaughtered
>revives rick
>can easily kill him with new weapon
>can even improve the new weapon
Evil Morty is a bit too much now
Evil Morty doesn’t give a shit though. He has the weapon purely so he will be left alone. He isn’t looking for a fight
I feel it should have been an all-out battle with the smith family
I was a bit confused why Rick Prime has a barrier to block random gunshots but then he just stops using it, then takes a gunshot to the face and instantly heals, but then he just stops healing
maybe it only blocks things it deems to be bullets
and since evil morty fired his fingers at him they weren't blocked
also might not work at close range which is how c137 shot him at one point in the fight
Morty shut down his body's defenses
Rate the episode. I think it was pretty good, better than all the slop they shit out this season. 9/10 as its quite enjoyable.
Agree or disagree: this episode had too much going on at the same time, and should've been a two parter.
I think there should have a better reason for non evil morty to be there, he's sorta just there cause we expect him to be
I know this is a "science" and "ethics" show but shouldn't Rick's new motive be to restore his wife across the multiverse?
If thats even possible.
He's brought back the froopyland guy for less and has disembodied voice Diane in his original universe.
Oh no, Beth killed that guy and he grow a clone, Rick does a lot of unethical shit but I think just cloning his wife is out of the question otherwise he would have done it already. If Rick really want's his wife back he'd need some sort of Infinity Gauntlet/Dragon Ball level cosmic Deus Ex Machina for that
>Rick does a lot of unethical shit but I think just cloning his wife is out of the question otherwise he would have done it already
He probably has done it for a quick fuck and that's why it'll never happen during the show.
>Infinity Gauntlet/Dragon Ball level cosmic Deus Ex
He could just pick a universe with someone close enough to Diane that she wasn't wiped out.
Isn't Rick shit at fixing things?
Rick would have to fess up to being a shitty father and face the possibility that she doesn't even want to be with him. We got a hint of that with his original world and that fake Diane voice. So even if he knows that he should try it, there's no way his heart is in it.
>Rick would have to fess up to being a shitty father
How can he be a shitty father to a dead daughter? All those other Beths aren't his.
Is doofus rick still the only mysterious rick left?
Last clone of Rick Prime
The way I read it, Evil Morty isn't better than Rick Prime. He was just a variable Rick Prime didn't account for and that made the difference for our Rick and Morty in the fight. Rick Prime could've solved for him just like he did the protagonist Rick but Rick Prime considers Rick and Morty shit beneath him.
Anyway, Evil Morty comes off like a tsundere bitch and I'll be surprised if he doesn't come back.
>resolving the "overarching" conflict 15 episodes after introducing it with 3.5 more seasons to go
What did the writers mean by this?
We've taken care of all the "canon" issues so it's just going to be Season 1 style adventures from here on out.
Until we get evil Summers
ill wait for it
>Evil Summer turns out to be evil because her Morty wouldnt fuck her
Evil Summer could be interesting. If they don't fumble the ball.
And more Summer posts please. I'm begging.
the question they should be asking is why do they still remember him if the weapon was to wipe him out from exitance?
it isnt retroactive
I want to find Summer attractive, but her tall head is just so off-putting. All other females have round heads, but hers is the same shape as Jerry's and it's fucking weird.
Yes, yes, all plot threads are resolved HOWEVER
GET ON THE BIGFOOT HYPE TRAIN
A HUNDRED MORE YEARS UNTIL THE EPIC BIGFOOT SAGA IS RESOLVED
I'M BIGFOOT RIIIIIIIICK
Bet you $5 they will wait on this till next season l, maybe even two
Nah, Bigfoot is in the Season 7 poster. Whatever it is they're going to do with him they'll do it in this season
starring fan favorite characters like space beth and dr wong!
>no jokes
>shit animation
>big bad dies in generic fight with lasers
>morty from RICK AND MORTY accomplishes nothing
>In fact morty doesn't even exist this season. It's the Rick show
>Bring back evil morty because the fans like him and you have no creativity left
>Play old song fans remember from when the show wasn't as awful (And you still has creativity left)
>Try to play up a "Vengeance doesn't satisfy" narrative, which would have worked but you didn't do anything to build it so it's as thought provoking as someone dropping a refrigerator on your head.
1/10
The show is dead. But at least I can stop watching now because with no interesting characters, plotlines, writing or comedy going on I can safely never tune into a rick and morty episode again.
I'm glad this ending is making spergs like you mad.
Maybe Prime would say a funny, but it would be more sadistic than anything.
personally I just wanted to know how Rick Prime lived his life, tbqh. he looks a lot younger than all of the original Ricks for some reason
Science. Evil Morty basically insinuated what Rick Prime's life was when he mentioned the doomsday device. It just put a massive target on his back so Rick Prime likely just sat in his hidey hole all day acting smarter than thou and constantly looking over his shoulder
I just fucking hope he doesn't bring back rick prime like bird person for some bullshit plot reason
Fuck rating the episode. Would you rather have Rick Prime stay alive, or are you happy he's dead? Personally, I kinda wish they kept him alive and did his death as this seasons finale. Then they can do whatever they want with making Rick sad next season.
Dead. Teasing it every so often to milk the views wasn't doing much after 4 seasons.
Great that hes dead. Happy its not in a season finale. Way more rewarding to just kinda drop it, and then have to deal with the ramifications of that.
this, its way more interesting than a "and thats it" season finale
Extremely happy he’s dead. Give Rick his revenge, but leave him with a void that needs replacing. Perfecto.
You know what, another issue with Prime Rick being dead is that Morty just lost his actual 'for real' Grandpa. Seems like a missed opportunity for interaction between the two.
Morty already got over that, and regards the C-137 as 'his'.
Big meh. A lot better than the trash they've putting out, and hard to fuck up, but about the most basic ass mid way of concluding it.
so, no more canons or lorehomosexualry, good?
looking back it makes sense that you have to kill all the "decoys" to kill rick prime, since those aren't really decoys as much as vessels for him to overtake any time. don't see why he wouldn'tt
>Rick Prime vessels
>Unity Hivemind
Could it have worked?
I can't wait for the plot twist next season that Rick didn't actually kill Rick Prime
Pretty sure they got the right Rick. Only twist woulf be to reveal that there was someone else that set Prime off on his little fiasco
they cut away before really confirming the kill and then Rick just comes out covered in blood. easily faked for a shitty future plot twist. dumber still would be if they try to bullshit some scenario where Rick Prime switched places with Rick when it cut away.
The monologue by Rick Prime might entail a turn where C137 Rick goes crazy and turns into his own version of Prime as a reason to keep going.
Only way to keep the plotline going but its also jumping the shark a little.
all problems aside, i really liked the part where rick omni-man'd the shit out of prime
Why did none of the other Prime-hunting Ricks have force fields? Presumably they were smart enough to locate him to an extent, so why wouldn't that be something they considered? What the fuck was all that about?
Evil Morty is a Mary Sue. calling it now.
>Can't be hurt because of magic force field tech
>Super genius, smarter than rick
>Solves all problems effortlessly
>Constantly one upping people around him
>defeats big bad with little effort
>Throws out one-liners
>never flustered or caught off guard
It wasn't even an Evil Morty thing because protagonist Rick had a force field as well. It would make sense if Rick Prime somehow disabled all the Ricks' cybernetics but he clearly didn't. Why would protagonist Rick be the only one who kept his on?
He and Rick Prime were the only ones who created portal travel on their own so they were on par with each other
flustered or caught off guard
he literally got caught off guard when he fell into the rick prime trap
I kneel...he's the best written character in shart and farty
The way I saw it was that Rick Prime and Evil Morty could both solve for each other if given the opportunity.
But Evil Morty was working with Our Rick which is what tipped the scales.
They're not the Rickiest Rick.
Rick Prime is the Rickest Rick. That's why he's Prime.
Our Rick is just the next best thing.
some ricks are less rick than others, thats why our rick did not die yet, and thats why you see other ricks dying left and right
The Ricks all have their own gimmicks. Our Rick's gimmick is ridiculous overpowered cybernetics. Then there was Indiana Jones Rick. and it just wouldn't make sense for Indy to have a force field.
The last Rick in that deathtrap *had* cybernetics, though. It's not really adding up, man.
If something is shit, it is shit. When you taste greatness, you do not want to go back to eating slop. Simple ass.
>When you taste greatness, you do not want to go back to eating slop.
tell me the best movie ever made and i will find a thread with a bunch of people talking shit about it
what you have to understand is that good taste isnt being a nitpicky motherfucker that only can enjoy the 0.001% of movies, if you dont enjoy most movies its maybe because you dont enjoy movies at all, most movies are enjoyable enough to be good, you have some sort of problem if the only thing that can make you have fun is what you call "greatness" because thats how it works, the bar being high for you to enjoy something is not a sign of superiority, its a sign of depression
>or even just some episodes of a cartoon they like, they must hate everything.
im talking about the collective of this website, the opinions always stay the same no matter how good the episode is, no matter how good the movie is, it will be 70% of people hating or and the rest either neutral, shitposting, or actually enjoying it
too much words. I wasn't aggreeing or disagreeing with them, just explaining their rationale and disagree with your point about neuroplasticity
It's just a fact of life that just as everything has its supporters, everything has its detractors too. Some people really do hate everything, but that doesn't mean that nobody should be allowed to voice their dislike of anything that you personally have decided shouldn't be disliked.
yeah i thought about that, but its just that there is way more hate than anywhere else, to the point where you have to ask why so many people hate things here, and again, its constant, its not like the better overall something is the more people like it, its always a constant of more people hating than liking it, and this does not happen anywhere else, even in places where people get attention for hating on things
power levels in this show are all over the place even when discussing the same exact character
best not to think too much about it
imagine if rick prime summoned the Cthulhu from the intro lmao
>evil morty plot introduced in S1, resolved in S5 (4 seasons long)
>dead wife mystery (also known as "fake backstory") plot introduced in S3, resolved in S5 (2 seasons long)
>rick prime plot introduced in S6, resolved in S7 (1 season long)
They're introducing and resolving new plots at an exponential rate. If they keep this up, we'll soon reach a point where any new plot will be resolved by the end of the very episode it's introduced in, thus reaching critical episodicality.
Rick Prime was technically started in the season 3 premier, or maybe even season 1 since Pocket Mortys called him "Weird Rick"
I like how people who have lost their neuroplasticity with age cannot perceive everything new, everything new seems bad to them. It was better before and the grass was greener
yeah, its fucking sad honestly
They're not wrong
It's really sad how you have to come up with nonsensical explanations for why nobody is allowed to dislike a cartoon episode.
man its not about disliking a cartoon episode, its about disliking everything, people on tv shit on everything that wasnt made 15 years ago or more, people here always whine and complain about how this was better in season 1 or 2, it seems no one likes anything, and if you dont like anything then you must be the problem
and dont fucking come with me with your half asses memes or shitty comebacks, you know its true, its impossible to satisfy you motherfuckers
You people think that if someone doesn't like a cartoon they like, or even just some episodes of a cartoon they like, they must hate everything. You're acting as if you believe that reading a few posts by somebody about Rick and Morty can tell you everything about that person.
>YOU keep doing YOU, they'll come around - Gilbert
are close to finishing that absurd order of episodes they got back in like season 1 or 2?
They signed that contract after season 3 finished airing and they still have 3 seasons and a half to go.
>All he can do is return to Season 1 Rick
He’ll have to grow back into wacky science Grandpa, and this is a good thing. Morty’s era begins now.
>He’ll have to grow back into wacky science Grandpa
But the family doesn't need that now that they're all lousy with wacky science shit. Rick has no place now. His only defining character traits are being depressed and drunk now.
Nah. The show needs it so they’ll make it work. Morty is gonna be the key to getting things back on track in the fallout of this revenge plot.
Did he drop therapy after the shit with Wong and Unity?
More likely he's just going to become progressively softer until he bears no resemblance to Season 1 Rick.
Nimbus remembered Diane so that can’t be the case.
I mean Nimbus knows about Diane but he didn't know her personally. Pretty sure Rick told him about her
>wife remembers husband
>kids don't remember father
Were the writers implying something with that?
it isnt retroactive. it just erases them from that point
You guys are overthinking this. The weapon kills all versions of the target, not erase them from existence.
Gets kind of murky if you think about the fascist shrimps, wasps, or vacuum ricks. Double with the the decoys.
It’s easy enough to hand wave a bullshit explanation on how the weapon determines what entity matches the target across each dimension.
he mentioned that the original bomb could only erase 1 person at a time, so while it erased Diane, Beth was just killed by the explosion.
I was gonna ask that exact same question but remembered Prime said he did that later meaning the bomb that killed them was just a bomb and not tied to the thing that wiped Dianne out of all existence
>cute innocent thing dies in gorey horrific fashion
Sick of this joke, it was amusing in Strawberry Smiggles but they keep doing it
Sex with summer when
probably end up with emotionless sex because you are just a human and shes been to the ribbitydo system where everything is ribbitydoed for evolutionary purposes but she used for sex reasons like the spaghetti thing but not spaghetti
Nah, Summer ain’t that experienced or jaded.
I don’t get the ending. why was there a picture of the dead time guy with a green wife alien
This show wasn't made for stupid people like you.
hi midwit
the time wife and the green alien both lost their spouse and were on revenge trips, which they bonded over and then married each other.
Why didn't Rick tell his aunt what happened to her husband and that he already killed the guy who did it?
Rick is currently traumatized
There's infinite versions of her. How is Rick supposed to tell all of them?
WHEN IS THE MORTICIA EPISODE?!
Will there be a mega upload in a while? I wanna watch my favorite animated show.
enjoy anon

Thanks man. I really appreciate you doing that for me.
ty anon "the man who delivers"
I don't need this, but I'll thank you anyway on behalf of everyone who does.
Thank you
thanks m8
well that was a whole lot of nothing
still tho thx
i aswell
rick is going to sacrifice himself with that machine and erase all ricks from existence in the finale of the show
Whatever happened to Jessica and the other people from Morty’s school?
Supposedly one of the remaining episodes this season is supposed to address these questions. I think the one where Water T shows up
There’s an upcoming episode that’s gonna focus on this (unless promos are lying).
They wrote Jessica out of the show by having her get trapped in stasis and realize she was just a prize then left saying "they should just be friends"
that jessica got frundled
Jessica became a Time God and fucked off, hasn't been seen since. The last school episode was that one new guy who got mocked to shit after something he did following helping the car get laid.
>Jessica became a Time God
She actually just went insane from time shenanigans. She should still just be a normal human.
If we see her again, she should start out in an insane asylum.
I know they never knew what to do with her but surely they didn’t just outright delete her
Morty should get Tricia as a girlfriend
Morty should get a GF in general, it would be good for him to care about this specific universal instance. My guess is actually Bird Daughter
He's had 3.
Long term not just for an episode.
Fucks up the show dynamic by adding someone new to the main cast. Like when American Dad added the koala. It just never feels right
Does Summer count?
No, Summer is just the mother of his child
What about Gwendolyn?
Yes, she actually was a girlfriend that also happened to be the mother of his child
I'm now realizing that Morty has two kids and is a worse father than Rick.
His kids have turned out better than Beth so far but not really because of any positive influence from Morty himself.
School stopped mattering when things got serious. IF Morty really wanted the whole experience of school he could simulate, or get a GED like every other normal person who doesn't care about school enough but wants slip of paper to say they did a thing.
Give me a link
>tfw they bullshit an excuse to have Diane Prime show up and take over the main antagonist role
so didnt erase her just put her and others in dimensions ricks would never look?
I was thinking the same trick Evil Morty pulled by shifting to a non-local universe.
>this is their mid season finale
It will be interesting to see what episode 10 sets up for the next season
It's gotta be Rick leaving. It's the only thing that makes sense from here.
And then Season 8 will start out just as Morty until they reunite in the middle of the season and it becomes Rick and Morty again.
Stop trying to make Morty happen, anon.
>Episode 6: Episode about testing Rick and Morty’s relationship, follow up to Roy 2, sad episode, ends with Morty wanting a normal life instead of Rick’s adventures (this is the blade episode)
>Episode 7: Morty and Summer episode, school stuff, fleshing out old characters (I’m a leg, Morty!)
>Episode 8: Goofy action episode, destroys the new status quo set up by Episode 7, Rick comes back into the fold
>Episode 9: Rick gets killed by bigfoot and you WILL cry (super saiyan monkey boogers)
>Episode 10: Dark episode… unsure
>Rick’s overarching plot is over
Mortybros, we’re so fucking back.
Why did they accidentally air the season finale, are they stupid?
This would have been a retarded episode for the finale because it closed so many plot lines. People would have nothing to talk about for the year leading up to S8
20 likes and I post the roland dub no balls
4chin does not have likes, but you can have my (You)
Here's that attention (You) ordered.
If I wanted attention I'd post the Marcus dub but you're not ready for that
Here it is
Here's my attention that (You) ordered
>evil morty is evil because rick sodomized him 1 too many times
the Diane erasure doesn't really make sense. If it was anything like Slow Mobius, with the initial killing of a Diane, all other Diane's just disintegrated, how would the other Ricks even know it was Rick Prime who did it?
It doesn’t make sense because it’s sloppy writing they couldn’t work around
>entire plot of show is everything is infinite so nothing matters
>ok we need drama for Ricks wife but he can just go get a new one
>ok someone used the magic delete them all forever Gun on her ok?
He probably handpicked a small number of Ricks to have their Diannes personally assassinated by him and then just chucked a random Dianne in the machine to create the rest of the lesser Ricks.
Plus does that mean he killed his own wife for no reason other than to fuck with other Ricks?
This feels like a justification for Beth never talking about her mom
we could assume either Diane Prime was already dead, or that she divorced him so he no longer cared about her
Or that Rick Prime set off the Multiversewide extermination of Diane even though his Diane and Him were still together and he just didn't care.
i think you assumed all other ricks would care
Finally a good episode
Only laughed at the parts with evil morty
Oh wow, Amongst the last words Rick Prime heard:
Rick Prime:"Hey, You're pretty cool. Would you like to team up?We could be like batman and Robin."
Evil Morty:"Meh, I don't really need a robin."
Oh my God thats one of the greatest put dwns of this show.
can you divide by 0?
Glad slow Mobius got to show off his powers broh
Evil Morty being a mini-Rick shows that they actually understand that Morty needs to be his own character again.
Rick getting his revenge (losing his purpose) shows that they understand that this can’t be the Rick show anymore.
Call me crazy, but I actually think they’re making the right moves.
I agree with you if they have such a direction in mind for where they take the show. But it may just be blind optimism.
Rick didnt feel vindicated by beating rick prime
And the fans dont either
It's meta
Bravo, Dan!
Woahhh broh Dan hardman is so smart it's like how wroted the season 5 finale to be about the lore literally leaving the show woahhhh so metuhhhh
Unironically, yeah. Revenge isn’t cathartic, it doesn’t solve everything. Rick still has a journey from here to find his peace.
The underwhelming conclusion is cathartic when the cliche is a big finish. That and the 1st story-lord episode mocked the trope.
i didn't think too much of this episode, until the ending music started, and i recognized it as the song morty burries himself to.
>the two biggest lore plot lines get settled in a single episode
I think the writers are just taking a shit on the lorefag audience
What happens after?
Tbh this episode reminded me of the final episode of bojack
A nothingburger that hits you in the "ok but what now"
They let AI fart out 2 and half seasons worth of episode prompts, finish their contract and fuck off. R&M cultural relevance has already cratered so it doesn’t matter
Filtered
Oh joy the new slow wit argument closer
>AN AI DID IT
I felt satisfied as someone who cared about the story, more than really any of the major threads before. Rick’s character is in the best position its been in many seasons.
>settled
Evil Morty seems less settled now than before.
Looked settled to me. Evil Morty wants to live in peace outside the curve. He has a weapon to use against Rick IF he tries to fuck with him. If evil Morty is left alone he has no beef
He's going to end up taking Our Rick, I bet.
Not to like, do anything to him but just because he's bored and wants to hang out.
The grand finale will just be some shitty jealousy story you'd probably see in some Disney show or some shit
Why can we not have an episode where Morty penis enters Summer vagina?
>Morty finally gets a date with Jessica
>B plot is Summer get infected by a horny space virus
>Morty wanders off from Jessica and ends up getting forced to fuck Summer
>Jessica finds them because she went to loom when Morty didn’t come back
>tells them not to stop because she is going to watch
>Morty peen in Summer vajay
>Jessica 'likes to watch'
Damn add in a few more things and we might manage to hit fetish bingo. Maybe morty and evil morty should kiss just for the extra 'cest.
I was thinking about having Jessica tag in because she secretly has the hots for Summer but I figured there was enough there to play with
>Jessica 'likes to watch'
Checks out if her dream is still to work in hospice
Look up Rick and Morty: Another Way Home
I've heard surprisingly good things about this from the peeps who tend to play these games. May actually check it out of curiosity.
I thought the bomb or whatever was just for killing all infinite versions of a person and not doing this memory erasing thing, but then the time kid not remembering her dad implies that it was some kind of existence eraser, yet the wife still remembered him. what a bunch of trash
the kid didnt remember because she was young
>I thought the bomb or whatever was just for killing all infinite versions of a person and not doing this memory erasing thing, but then the time kid not remembering her dad implies that it was some kind of existence eraser, yet the wife still remembered him. what a bunch of trash
The girl didn't remember him because she was young when he died, you dunkass.
The only thing I can see is if slow mo died when the kids were too young to remember
I really enjoyed the multiverse stuff. I hope they continue to revisit it and continue to make the show more high concept.
This episode was like a bad video game final boss.
Why would Rick Prime just hangout at this base, waiting for someone?
I don't get it. I never cared for the lore of this show, but they really smelled their own shit and ate it up.
He had no purpose beyond fucking with other Ricks. He was in stasis during the dimension resets before killing Jerry.
Because No one has ever escaped from Prime's box so he wants to see who made it.
Was it a callback to that Vindicators Saw episode where Morty bailed everyone out?
He didn’t account for evil Morty handing his location to Rick
>Why would Rick Prime just hangout at this base
His base? You mean where he keeps all his stuff? Where he keeps all the defense tech necessary to ward off vengeful Ricks? Where he is at the most advantage? Why is he there when C-137 comes to attack him? C'mon man thats a self answerer.
The most interesting part was when it showed all the alternate portal travel inventors from realities outside the curve
What? That they're the Jetsons?
Like I give a fuck about your internet attention you childrens cartoon watching fuck go eat a salad and lay off the burgers I'm literally a millionaire bite me
Who the fuck is this homosexual and why does he look so out of place
Weird Matt
Wait a minute, that's a good fucking point. What WAS up with that.
will evil morty end up becoming an ally to (our) rick by the end of the season?
few nitpicks like evil morty's screen appearing from left to right to the viewer but wrong from his POV, and the fight between rick prime didn't really top what we've seen before like rick vs bird person/phoenix person
would've been better with roiland of course, but still 8.8-9 imo
True to that for the Roiland part
also a bit weird during the fight how much Morty kept having to manually press the eyepatch, rather than it just doing shit, like scanning incoming attacks
Evil Morty just handing Rick the win over Rick Prime leads me to believe he didn't actually kill him. Beat the shit out of him, then let him go and became catatonic at the fact that he spent all that time and effort tracking the dude just to spare his life
Rick Prime was only as interesting as what it means for Rick to defeat him, and what happens afterwards.
>"""""""""people"""""""" still bitching about some unfunny rapist not voicing the characters anymore
Man, people will really bitch about anything on the internet.
Not only his voice acting was mediocre, but his writing was terrible, which is even more evident in all his other flopped projects.
Parasocial relationships are something else.
not reading your bait. the new voices are shit
Shut up, Justin.
Alright calm down. Everything aside, one of my foremost complaints would be how the voice of the morty's hit my ear wrong. Didn't care for their lines.
your mother made a huge mistake and I'm sorry you still have to exist
I miss Roiland and wish him the best, but still like the show enough to watch it without him.
Same. I do blame Roiland for getting fired though. Not for moral reasons, I just think he should have been smarter and thought more about consequences in advance.
He should've been smarter, and richer and he wouldn't have been caught
Alt ending...
C-137 give Rick Prime one last devastating punch and the lights go out....
Rick Prime wakes up in a clone tube and yells out, "Fuck yea! There one back up clone body they didn't find! Fuck You simp Rick!"
Then out of nowhere a voice blares out "REROUTED! REROUTED! REROUTED!
The lights come up and to Rick Primes horror theres a video recording of evil Morty sarcastically waving goodbye to him as he s blended to oblivion.
Are you telling me Prime Rick doesn't have his equivalent to Operation Phoenix
He does or did. You clearly are shown Evil Morty tracking down and eliminating all Rick Primes back up bodies after he is captured.
He did, but Evil Morty fried all of his backups.
Couldn't he connect to some random universe's operation phoenix machine?
Yes, if the ratings for the show start to dip, they can claim he found a way to survive
Evil Morty destroyed those too, did you forget the rerouting blender
>did you forget the rerouting blender
He didn't destroy the machines he just rerouted the minds and I doubt the blenders are still operational
Did you pay attention? The first thing evil Morty did was delete all his backups
Rick didn't have any backups in s4e1, he specifically axed the program, still he somehow rerouted to other dimensions
Other than S7E1 being the worst in the series, this season is the best of “new Rick and Morty” (post season 2).
the new voice actors are soulless, the tone is there but everything about the acting and delivery is off
>old good new bad
You subhuman vultures will pick literally anything.
>ugh ricks cars passenger side garbage can is 1 pixel higher than it should be
>unwatchable shit show
you are a dumb goyslop consuming tranny. the quality has degraded. kill yourself.
>an entire human being was swapped
>dude it's not a big deal
autism
It's really not a big deal
Get over yourself
it's a big deal to anyone who hears the human voice more than a monotone intake
>people coping that rick prime is still alive when evil morty has his adult toys
Why didn't Evil Morty's force field stop his shoulder from being hit by that bullet?
So was Evil Morty's shift to evil just a sudden thing or was it premeditated? Because if he could just invent a mind control eyepatch in the span of a single night, then how the fuck was ever a sidekick to begin with?
More than that, is Evil Morty just naturally smart, or are all Mortys just able to one day go full sicko mode if they stop giving a shit and just become completely and totally decisive and confident?
Our morty is smart enough to do the same things he just doesnt have the testicular fortitude to do it since the die hard episode
>Death has the potential to matter again
>Rick can finally grow beyond his crybaby backstory
>Morty is going to contrast against Evil Morty, leading to a character that can contrast Rick again
>Morty episodes incoming
They’re on the right path.
>Death has the potential to matter again
It always mattered, dumbass.
Evil Morty is the result of being a Morty that has never seen bare Summer breasts before
Can confirm, my entire life trajectory changed when I saw my sister topless one day
We haven’t gotten our mandatory Summer X Morty service this season, so I look forward to Wet Hot Amortican Summer.
>mandatory Summer X Morty service this season
>so look forward to Wet Hot Amortican Summer
God I hope. I just feel like Morty and Summer are an underutilized pairing for adventures to start with. Those two need to hang with each other more.
>A backstory episode that doesn’t shit on the audience or undercut itself for a cheap laugh
Good job guys.
>New actors are soulless
I know not everything is black and white but this insinuates the other guy has more soul when it can not be more apparent he does not care for the show lmao
Not giving a fuck is where the best performances come from. These new people are trying to stick 100% to the script like it’s serious business
They're redubbing old animation animated over the old dub, I quite frankly couldn't give a fuck this season, they're not bad they're not good they are literally just replacements this season.
Their voices debuted with this season but their characters are what debut next season
>child molester
SOVL
>normie
Soulless
shut the fuck up
Struck a nerve?
no you're just repeating yourself
the guy was a fine lad, he got horny and said some stupid shit, who the fuck cares
That's just the way of the world these days. If only the whole world could judge me for some things I may have said at some point in the past. Gotta learn to have a filter no matter what you say or joke about, even texts can come back to get you.
Talk shit get hit
It's universal
I can't think of a single thing I liked about this episode.
Who asked?
>Bump limit
Finally, a successful episode this season.
>basing success off # of posts on Cinemaphile
pathetic
Seems like a semi decent metric for episode 'relevance' to me. Shocked the thread came this far, genuinely.
by that metric lore episodes are better than standalone episodes by default
You're almost there
I wouldn't know if lore eps tend to get much more traction than standalones. Just surprised by the depth of discussion for the thread. Was thinking interest had died down.
I actually really like this episode. Now that Rick's obsession isn't hunting that guy he has to question how he feels about his place in the chaos.
*Finale.
I'm not that stupid, just very tired and underfed.
I just think there wasn’t that much more to squeeze out of it. I prefer this direction to stretching it out.
Fair enough, but it may be their execution of Rick's backstory to begin with that left them with little to stretch out.
Remains to be seen what the future storylines they will come up with after this plot will be. Evil versions of the main duo make for easy material to revisit in this show I would think.
What stood out to me most in this one is the line "You would've been me, I just walked into your garage before you walked into mine" which makes me think this might be the most similar version of himself he's actually met, or even the most exactly alike. imo that's what the dissolution scene was mainly getting at and I liked the parallels between the one of Morty after also killing and burying himself because of his choices
oops *disillusion but dissolution also works in reference to this arc lmao
>conclusion to rick prime
>still manages to be meh
this season is cursed
This is the best season since 2.
trying to be unique doesn't make you interesting
The show hasn’t been in a better position since S3E1 fucked it.
S7E4 in a long time*
>snipped rick's balls off
>morty can only be competent when its his alt self
ya much better
Ricks balls were getting too big. This isn’t anime, Rick being an invincible god was getting old fast.
Morty is on an off. Sometimes he has a big nutsack (this very season where he is selling crystals) and other times he goes back to being a whiny retard who can’t do anything
they had him groveling to scientologists last episode
God Rick was a mistake and Rick will not be therapy Rick forever. What he becomes soon is what we actually want/need.
Morty is growing next.
The show has not been as funny as it should be. My hope is that once the new status quo is established they’ll be able to focus more on that aspect.
I just hope that along with
, we just get back to Seasons 1 & 2 quality of shenanigans for the second half. A man can dream.
One more point:
I’m expecting some Morty growth before we jump right into classic Adventure episodes. The writers have shown they haven’t given up genuinely trying. Season 7 feel like an earnest, effortful attempt at steadying the course.
this one 15 second segment of Roiland making weird sounds has more soul and emotion than anything from these last five episodes
they really fucked up firing him, ruined the whole series
Just drop the show boys, complaining about it does nothing. It’s the most boring discourse you can provide.
i will watch in horror every week listening to the soulless and poor acting of rick and morty, devastating a nearly decade long piece of gold
Roilandfags BTFO! "Rick and Morty" S07 transcended into a god-tier show! One more season like the current one and nobody will even remember Creepoiland existed before...
>Some people actually wanted RP dragged out another season
>Some people actually wanted Rick’s revenge to be portrayed as a 100% cathartic release for the character
It’s not about dragging it out, it’s about not just having it abruptly crash to a conclusion after building it up for 10 years.
I’m glad it’s over, but it ended shitty
The fallout is what matters. Rick got his revenge, and now he’s left without a purpose or the satisfaction he thought he’d have.
not OP but also my takeaway in thinking he has complete control of his universe he killed what he then realized what the person who would do exactly what he would do in his circumstances and now has to face that reality
Season 6 was about ending God Rick: The Invincible, establishing the universe that matters and the family that matters.
Season 7 is (so far) about Rick being workshopped into a person that can exist beyond his past and single-minded purpose. I think by the season’s end the relationship between Rick and Morty is gonna get reforged in a big way.
sounds boring
If having the main duo actually work as a partnership again and go on adventures is boring to you then, okay.
>showed that they still remember s1ep10 in the beginning
>STILL haven't provided the actual reason why Evil Morty was torturing all those other versions of himself beyond what was needed to conceal his hideout
That's where he was goku power training to become smarter than rick
I'd say just trickle down effects of being Rick's grandson, being as smart as he is or maybe the Rickest Morty it makes sense he wouldn't gaf about harming infinite versions of himself and even take pleasure in it
Was probably him working out his aggression against other mortys before realizing it's pointless
>I'd hate you sellout morties more than the ricks you worship if there was any reason
Final boss of the series will be an evil, competent Jerry
not gonna lie, the reveal that evil morty's original rick was still alive and in there, and not 100% a puppet was cool
Now that the main plot of the show is "over". It was kinda like waiting for a firework, and getting a sparkler.
How dead is the show? I mean i think we knew this season wouldn't be as good as others, but it's just kinda sad now.
What now/next?
I don’t really know how to respond to your post because almost everything you said is wrong.
How can you say that when
>Now that the main plot of the show is "over". It was kinda like waiting for a firework, and getting a sparkler.
Is dead on?
There's nothing left as far as a storyline goes, what the fuck are you talking about
The ratings are in perpetual decline so it probably won’t be renewed after this contract expires which is why they are in wrap up mode
>Review bombing by Roilandfags
Nah.
>be me
>see porn in this thread
>decide to fap
>end up not really being that horny
>switch to other porn, not really into it
>can't finish for over two hours
>see pomni porn from digital circus
>feel a familiar tingle
>look at more pomni porn
>finally finish
just felt I should share that
you made me very confused on which thread I was tabbed in to for a moment.
>Evil Morty exists because his Rick sent him to many butt-related adventures
kek what a bitch
