>* So narcissistic that she falls in love with herself*
Can we admit that Beth is becoming worse than Rick?

well he's a cors.... wait actually shouldn't he be alive in the new universe and also doesn't that mean rick can't see birdperson anymore
      >lowkey the universes are so hard to understand

Rick heavily implied he had done the same thing. This was really messed up on Beth's part, but she's a long way from Rick's level still.

Rick did the same thing, but he didn't simulate a lifetime together with a clone. Even he was weirded out by how far Beth took it.

    Self love is important

That's...actually a good point, but here's the thing, not everyone can literally frick themselves. Like, question anons:

Would you frick yourself? Your otherself can be a girl, or boy, but it has the same memories and experiences as you. Well? Would you

        >Would you frick yourself? Your otherself can be a girl, or boy, but it has the same memories and experiences as you. Well? Would you

Of course not, that would be gay. also I'm not nearly hot enough.

No, because deep down I know I'm a repulsive piece of shit and the addition of another me even in female form would be a recipe for disaster. Doubly so if she's a woman, because she'd have my memories and experiences in a now female body with hormones she's not used to.
Also it would genetically be like fricking my sister, and that's nasty.

the sad thing is that this was by far the most interesting thing they've ever done with Beth

This. For such a "self aware" show, they somehow fell into the trap of making the naggy hot mom who's always right. Then they made things worse by trying to have her follow in Rick's footsteps but without ever getting a comeuppance for anything the way he sometimes does.
As shitty as this episode was, at least it was an attempt to make Beth entertaining.

She is a narcissistic dyke who cheats on and plans to leave her husband for a bulkdyke that looks kind of like her/twin sister

That's not interesting. That's literally a gay loser c**ts powerfantasy.
Who is this meant to entertain?
Gsys, closet case females and closet transwomen?

Watch that Behind the Episode thing and you'll see it's some haggard woman who thinks Beth is "brilliant" and Dan "Workplace Predator" Harmon loving the idea as a total narcissist butthole himself.

This is what you get when Justin just does the voices.

Yes. But here's the thing: I don't care to see the development. I don't want to see Beth morph into having her own show and her own agency. Beth's development isn't overshadowing the show but it's...too--I don't like it. That's all I can really say. Takes away screentime from the titular characters to get scenes about self discovery and shit that isn't fricking funny. I like mom Beth just fine. Space Beth, the whole cloning fiasco, the daddy issues and disregard for her family--all of it can just frick right off. Get me to the funny, man.

All of the jokes were with the rest of the family. Summer was actually back to a proper, non-annoying character this episode.

I like how when she said "put it to 9" and Rick and Morty look at her for a beat then tell her to shut the frick up when she says she's joking. She has this little smile on her face that tells me that she just says shit to frick with them and then rolls with the punches because she likes being with them so much. Just a comfortable level of banter and understanding in everyone's dynamic and their relationship. They love each other. And man who would've thought that the two of them watching Rick play an [I don't know the term] AI Dungeon text-game and provide commentary would be so amusing. The Street Fighter bit was funny too. Especially seeing how Street Fighter 6 has a "use your fighter to run around in a vidya town" mode.

        >Space Beth, the whole cloning fiasco, the daddy issues and disregard for her family--all of it can just frick right off. Get me to the funny, man.
Holy shit. That's why it drives me nuts how thread always devolve into anons b***hing about the citadel, evil morty, birdperson or any of that shit. They never complain about the constant focus on Beth becoming a "more complete woman". It's not funny, it's not good storytelling, it's just a waste. Nobody wants to see a fundamentally unlikable character go through a character arc that revolves around her refusing to fix her flaws. That's all it is, too
        >Yeah, I'm a miserable person who mistreats other and never has fun. But I need to accept that none of it is my fault. It's all the fault of my husband, who I should cheat on because only my feelings matter
Wait, is this how Dan sees his ex wife?

        >Beth becoming a "more complete woman".
God, yeah, get this shit out of here.
        >Nobody wants to see a fundamentally unlikable character go through a character arc that revolves around her refusing to fix her flaws.
Oh but they'll fight your opinion on this by saying that Rick goes through character arcs of fixing his flaws! Only thing is that's *also* shit. I never care about Rick "coming to terms" with his elements of his character because it all warps back to daddy-daughter drama. He didn't need a mysterious backstory about his wife and all that junk. Being talked down to by some stupid fricking psychiatrist whose life he saves like a minute after she dresses him down. Oh and also
        >she refuses to fix her flaws
B-B-BUT SHE'S TURNING INTO RICK AND HE'S THE MOST INTERESTING CHARACTER ON THE SHOW SO SHE SHOULD BE TOO. WHOOPS LET'S SPLIT HER INTO TWO BECAUSE WE CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. NOW LET'S BLAME IT ON RICK AND HAVE HIM FEEL BAD ABOUT GIVING HIM BENDING OVER HIS BACKWARDS FOR HIS DAUGHTER FOR SOME REASON. It just makes me fricking sick.

It makes me wonder who made the show so good in seasons 1 and 2. Someone was holding Dan's spaghetti in and I don't think it was Justin.

Didn't Dan divorce after those seasons were made? That's probably what did it. That and all the new chick writers.

They realized that Beth was the worst character of the main cast (by far) so they’ve been doing this shit to try to make her an interesting character. It didn’t work and she’s still not funny. Hopefully we’re mostly done with the Beth focus this season.

The chief difference between Beth and Rick is that Beth has just enough empathy and self-awareness that she can't go full sociopath like Rick. She's a horrible human being, but she has moments of weakness and humanity that anchor her to her family.

That said, her being around her clone is a toxic relationship because the clone is the physical embodiment of all of her darkest impulses, minus the morality chain of her kids and Jerry. And while she will never admit it, Beth NEEDS Jerry to keep her anchored because (as seen with Inter-dimentional Cable) Beth is terminally unhappy that will spend all of her free time getting drunk because she can't find anyone to love her.

She sucks as a character and it would be hilarious if they had an argument where she she insinuates that Jerry ruined her life and he leaves her with dyke Beth.

Only way to make her face her demons is to having the living embodiment of her being a spiteful selfish narcissistic c**t walking around drilling her with dolphin dick and Jerry seemingly doing much better without her.

I would like to show him distancing himself from the kids and insinuate that she baby trapped him with summer.
