The relationship between creator and audience is a bit complex. I believe that the audience should not say to the creator what they want to add, But i firmly believe the audience has the obligation to say the things they DON'T wanna see on the show

I like Rick and Morty just the way it is. You can't expect every episode to be a winner, so the odd stinker isn't out of the realm of possibilities for a long-running series.

Diavolo was based on Iggy Pop and King Crimson is literally a 1960's British band. So you aren't far from the truth.

Show died when it started taking itself too seriously, as most adult comedy series usually do. Dramedy is not as easy to write as Dan Harmon would lead you to believe.

I kill off Rick for a season and now Morty had to solve issues using his head and gadgets the old man left behind.

Just do what they did in season 1

To be fair anon, if they did that nobody would like it because it didn't develop anything. As much as a reboot could possibly save the show, I highly doubt it.

S1 didn't win an emmy. Only after they got rid of their toxic male writers did the show start picking up viewers and awards

    >Make an entire season about Rick and Morty killing blacks, women, minorities, homosexuals, you name it, for fun...
    >Copyright strike everyone and their mother to make the series as difficult to get as possible outside of torrents and streaming
    >Create some sort of bureaucratic copyright hell around the series.
    >Kill everyone involved in the creation of it.
    >Pull it out of streaming
    That's it

Turn the current seasons into a What if rick is telling himself in prison to keep himself sane, have actual consequences and results that end in perma changes, make rick into a normal smartass again and bring back the family stuff to fill in holes in the family's history and REDO rick backstory into something... actually good. like he made the portal gun to spite his wife who is actual as bad as him but she stuck around to raise beth out of some "Well frick it, if he's just gonna run away then i'll Raise the fricking kid"

That is probably the only way to salvage the show.
      >like he made the portal gun to spite his wife who is actual as bad as him but she stuck around to raise beth out of some "Well frick it, if he's just gonna run away then i'll Raise the fricking kid"
I don't see how you could make her "just as bad as Rick" while having her stick around unless it was a divorce and she took sole custody.

You get all the people whom ever worked on Red Dwarf, throw them in a room with a micophone and enough weed to last. Jolt down every mundane thought they have and make a few episodes out of it.
Not sure if fixed but at least it would not be worse.

An entire reboot is needed to fix the mess that is modern Rick & Morty.
For starters, the show needs to go back to the whole "the extremely talented, cynical drunkard scientist with no real ambitions goes on adventures with his inexperienced moronic, but well-meaning grandson" thing we had back in season 1 and stick with it.

Allow for slow, but subtle, character development over the seasons, with a small permanent change at the end of each season:
Morty growing some balls and getting into a stable relationship, Rick realizing he actually does love his family, Jerry slowly become just a bit more competent, Beth gaining the motivation to become an actual surgeon, etc.
The biggest mistake the writers (Dan Harmon) made was to either make lolsorandom episodes completely disconnected from anything going on or make episodes focused on nothing but "lore" and an overarching plot having major effects on the rest of the season. This only became more extreme as the seasons went by.

I hate that you're right, but you're right.
IMO it's all a "hindsight is 20:20" thing, since past season 1 it felt like they were scrambling to figure out (and mostly failing) what to do with the show in the long run.
As if they expected only to get 1 season with no renewals.
There's probably a lesson here for those who want to pitch a show of theirs to a big media corp.

Its the same problem South Park was going on about in streaming wars. Everyone started throwing money at them to make a show, so now Roiland has his pick to focus on whatever the frick he wants and dial it in for everyone else. Same for Mike McMahon. Now the only one who seemingly still gives a shit about R&M is Dan Harmon, and he's a c**t.
