It was pretty much a flop even when it was animated, a first for Disney. Not a disaster but disappointing. And now they're gonna double down with a live version of it, when live versions have been mostly disasters for even the most popular and well established animated Disney movies? The princess and the frog was a dispointment, it grossed close to three times its budget despite being released a week before avatar, in the sense it didn't break out like Frozen did. But in no way a flop, it was the first animated movie on a princess disney made in a whilz and a test to bring back 2d animation (which failed).
