The Tolkien Estate personally appointed the Tolkien language translator for the show to make sure it was done properly. They also got one of the best dialect coaches in the world to train the actors in performing quenya, sindarin, Khuzdul, etc
You may sneer at these as simply 'details' but all this language and music stuff is what Tolkien actually cared about, It also indicates that many other details would likely have been given equal attention

Sure, there's an entire universe full of stories that could be built on top of existing lore, but that's not what consoomers want. They want to see darth vader again. They will crave to see the same characters, over and over again, until they die. It doesn't even matter if he acts in character, out of character, is played by a woman for no reason, as long as they can see the darth vader mask on the big screen they will continue to consume the product.
