Steven Universe wouldn't even exist with out Adventure Time giving Sugar enough experience and connections to convince CN to give her her own show. It also started the trends of fans influencing the actual outcome of cartoons, lore becoming a major focus, subverted expectations, etc.
It's time we face the reality; Adventure Time both saved American animation from the absolutely ass-tier dark ages late 00s, but also sowed all the seeds that would ruin it.
