>Why did it fail?
Neil defaced his own source material with a marker, shit on it, set it on fire then called you a bigot if you pointed out it was better as it was. Meanwhile the nu 'fans' immediately forgot about it the second Disney dangles some keys their way
I just watched a few scattered episodes. Honestly, the actors all did a decent job and the stories were relatively faithful but there were some major problems in costuming and character design that hurt everything.
Like, Morpheus' actor did a good job acting like the character and his voice sounded really good but the character design is an abject failure. Desire looked spot-on, so it's weird.
1) main character isn't pale enough
2) multiple other characters were race swapped and gender bent. i can understand one or two, but it was 4 or 5
3) Lucifer wasn't Tilda Swinton
4) Lucifer's costume was fricking disgusting, not even close to the comic
5) Death didn't have enough make up to make her face white or have the eye shadow stuff
5) Despair doesn't have tusks
6) it isn't fricking animated
7) it's not "progressive" for the white character to have a black servant
maybe Black casting had something to do with it
Being unfaithful to the source material and alienating your niche audience is not a good idea
