Not overrated at all. It was excellent. It was so excellent that word of mouth carried the entire thing to a billion dollars. Everyone in the production, producers, executives, film analysts anticipated this would make 250 million globally. Everyone on this board even predicted a modest box office haul. When this came out everyone was talking about it, even my mom and dad who don't ever see movies said "hey what's this joker movie? Everyone at work is talking about it, I wanna see it". It was pure kino. It was a great chatacter study about a mentally ill man who sinks further and further into madness. Way better than anything Scorcese has done

The plot sounds good, I liked the Batman the Animated Series episode they're clearly copying but musicals are garbage and so is Lady Gaga's music.
