He deleted the top whatever percent of traumatic experiences, but any one of the canon adventures we've seen could be traumatic. Remember the time he almost got raped by a jellybean? Or the multiple times he's had to murder his way through a crowd of sentient beings for whatever dumb reason? Even having to bury his own body, that's one of the keystones of his personality now, the whole "nobody belongs anywhere" thing, no way he's forgotten that.
It'd be weird if he wasn't traumatized, even with the worst stuff edited out.

I don't give a frick what the writers think, the serious tones have been there since the beginning. Again, he was literally almost raped by a jellybean in season 1, that scene was not supposed to be silly or goofy, it was supposed to be unexpectedly dark and real. If you're not noticing the serious stuff, you're missing half the show.
I'm just telling you. Don't bother analyzing the characters. It's all just a joke to the writers and I can almost guarantee you at the end they'll pull some 'It was all a dream' ending just to frick with loregays.
