Objectively, they are technicaly well made, mostly the camera is good the script is somewhat consistent and the cgi is, mostly, good, mostly, in some not even that
In all other aspects they are hardly even cinema, they are a visual circus act, like watching a elephant play basketball while two freaks in liotards pretend to fly but with cgi explosions in the backround

I wached starship troopers a few day ago with some friends, some comented on how the cgi looks better than in some disneywars sequels, and its chi like from way back when
And the scenes are well scripted and perfectly shot and gruesome and fricking fun and you get to laugh at shit and the meta story is interesting and thought prowoking and the actresses are beautiful and you get to see breasts
                Thats KINO

So le israelites who controlled 100 000% of entertainment industry back in 2000s made a movie about israelites for white christian conservatives, but less whiny than if it was made le israelites?

          Anonymous

well moron, back in the day, israelites were marketing all their shit towards white people with a throwaway bit part here and there towards blacks+asian+hispanic demographics, they weren't interested in mass-scale demoralisation, they wanted quality products and to fill cinemas and store shelves with their products. They made sure to make good stuff overall and they just propagandised largely by ommission and demonising da ebul natzhees exclusively.

Ironically movies now seem to be humanising the WW2 germans these days whilst demonising white people in general. I actually didn't hate Roger Rabbit for example, even though it was blatant bullshit in parts.

well, the context of the mother getting killed was historically moronic, although it was important for the plot and had to happen somehow, but a more realistic version of that would be her allying with communist insurgents within Axis territories, not posting up anti-war messaging in the dying days of WW2 when the Germans were never offered terms of surrender until total defeat and negotiations were never allowed at any stage of WW2.

              >in mein kampf, Adolf bemoans the anti-war rhetoric and defeatist messaging that was rampant early into WW1 and believes it cost Germany the war (yes he was a WW1 vet and a legitimate war hero, and had the medals to prove it)
              >in the movie, the vigorous persecution of anti-war protesters was portrayed as senseless and vicious for viciousness' sake, with no context of Adolfs personal views on the concept, when you have a literal Adolf character talking to the MC the entire movie
              >hurr gassing israelites+holocaust real

otherwise i found it pretty good.

              >they weren't interested in mass-scale demoralisation

Your own ilk would viciously deny this.

i dont think you understand what demoralisation tactics actually are. Old Hollywood klkes were just maintaining their narratives and their biggest crimes were largely pushing subtle race-mixing, self-promoting tunnelers+tunnelers culture and demonising the ebul natzhees. Well, that and the rampant nepotism. Ironic how that turned out.

The switch to 3D was always coming. see

Hand drawn animation is a fricking pain the ass, there's some shortcuts you can make but at the end of the day a human hand needs to draw every single frame.
Want to stay on-model in a 2D project? You need dozens, if not hundreds of talented people all relying on character sheets with competent animation directors looking over their shoulders and checking their work.
Want to stay on-model in a 3D project? Use the 3D model. Lmao.
This is also why there's far, far more 3D animated porn than 2D, any loser can download a model of his waifu and start posing her in blender. And most of that 2D stuff are very simple gif loops. Even your Japanese animes are incorporating more CGI every year, with some shows being completely CG now.

If it wasn't Shrek it would have been Pixar eventually.

Disney's Aladdin being written specifically for Robin William's Genie also contributed to the downfall of animation, since A-list celebrity voice actors became the norm for selling theatrical animated movies after that. Fast forward to today, and we have movies like Kung Fu Panda 4 that are budgeted for streaming and then shoved into theatrical releases as an afterthought despite having half the recurring celebrity voice cast absent from the movie because it would cost $20 million for one of them to read one line of dialogue due to how SAG members get paid higher salaries for repeat roles.

But then, Atlantis released the same year as Monster's Inc (which made £580 mil from a $115 mil budget), and Treasure Planet was released shortly before Finding Nemo (making *$940 million* against a $94 mil budget).
And on the Dreamworks side, Prince of Egypt was released around the same time as Antz, which made $172mil on a budget of less than $100mil.

Anime is an extremely cookie-cutter style of animation that takes big shortcuts like not animating walk cycles, every character having sameface, etc.

        Seriously, what happened?

Television, the 1991 financial collapse, and the media circus around the "Otaku Killer" Tsutomu Miyazaki are what collectively killed Japanese cinema and "adult" anime.

        >The USA transitioned to 3D while Japan transitioned to coombait for autistic manchildren
Funny, cause there were far more pornographic anime OVAs made in the 1980s and early 1990s than in the last 25 years. The real difference is that the OVA market died without independent investment or a strong home video market, and anime became a lot more sterilized and watered down cause it had to survive on TV which was more strictly reuglated.

anon is right as well, since the financial crisis dried up the investor money for OVAs.

Individuals within the Church have done bad things. That's because they're human beings, and human beings are fallen, we're all sinners, every last one of us. Expecting members of the Church not to sin is just moronic and contradicts your own belief (assuming you're Christian) that all men sin.
The actions of the members is not what matters, the deposit of faith is what matters, the preservation of the doctrine, and this has succeeded for 2,000 years, and will continue to until the end of time.

    I've explained this before:

Disney was by far the biggest employer in north american 2D animation. So when they made some bad movies, specifically movies with weak undercooked scripts that were also some of the most expensive productions in the company's history, and those movies flopped, the guys in charge blamed it all on CGI because they watched Toy Story and Shrek sweep the box office. They were wrong, of course. If you look at the 2000s animated box office most CGI animated films had mediocre results, and when Disney started making their own CGI movies during that period those movies were bad and still failed because Disney hadn't fixed their pre-production issues and was lacking creative leadership and company vision for their animation department. People just liked the stories in Toy Story and Shrek, it was that simple.

Disney got a lucky break with Frozen because people liked a song, not because the movie was any good. The studio never built a sustainable foundation and now they're failing again, though for slightly different reasons. So switching to CGI was not a guaranteed winning move, 2D animation is still popular in the form of anime, but Disney scrapped the north american 2D animation ecosystem. And they aren't going to go back because CGI is more convenient for rewriting a movie in the middle of a production.

      Anonymous

Except now they can use cheap cgi and ai tools to make dirt cheap '2D' looking movies just like every other studio churning out 'looks like 2D' animated series

Is it? I mean, I'm sure it's popular on Cinemaphile but I think Cinemaphile is a bit of a bubble when it comes to Otaku stuff. It has outsized popularity here

                >niche audience
Yet I see these everywhere, and see normies and women on social media talking about it more than ever with their pop culture references and whatnot. I mean, shit like spy x family or chainsaw man is plastered everywhere on their streets with advertising.
It's definitely popular on the internet, not just here and hey, it might not be as accurately representative of it in the real world, but it certainly gets more attention than it deserves

It's actually more expensive to use 3D animation, but it's faster, leading to quicker turnarounds.

This, with 2D animation, it doesn't matter how much money you are willing to spend, after a certain point you can't speed up the production, because there is no automation.
But with 3D significant amount of time goes into rendering, and you can't speed it up by investing in render farms.

Toy Story came out in 1995 and made 10x its small budget with 1000x less effort to produce.

which is funny because now we have 3D animovies that cost just as much as those old 2D flicks and don't even make their budget back, yet success no longer matters so trash still keeps getting made to sling propaganda and launder money.

3D became cheaper and easier to produce. You don't need a handful of talented people to make a product. You just need a room full of code monkeys in a 3rd world nation.
Animation, no matter how well made or their artistic merits is considered less prestigious and something only for children in the west.

This is also around the time frame where the various media companies started to kill off their animation blocks/studios in favor of live action slop.

It's more efficient to use 3D models and computer generated films. As the technology advances it only gets easier to create scenes and animate them. It's also possible to emulate parts of classic animation styles with background paintings, textures and lighting or atmospheric effects and model stretching/swapping.

Most films are for profit so they are incentivized to make the most profit while minimizing risk.

3D/Computer animation was quicker and easier to make, allowing them to churn out movies. Those movies were successes while the 2D movies began to bomb

  82. 1 month ago

The ceos and board member realised they could make movies much cheaper with 3D. So they set up 2D movies to fail in the box office by placing them in release windows of other movies that would crush them instantly. Then after the movies failed they could say 2D is a failure. Afterwards gut the 2D departments and push 3D.

for context Disney Atlantis was released next to Shrek and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. While Treaure Planet was released next to The Santa Claus 2 and Harry Potter. Also this about the time Bob Iger came into power as Disney CEO in 2005.

That's because Japs have their whole "three faces" culture vs burgers who wear our hearts on their sleeves, and make consooming slop into a lifestyle. For example, Japan has the largest number of adult toy collectors in the world, but they would never reveal such an interest to their colleagues or underclassmen. Everything is about social hierarchy and saving face to them. They're actually more open about these sorts of things to foreigners since they know we don't care about their stringent social decorum.
