Yeah, because she chose the wrong kingdom.
If she was smart then she would’ve waited for the coronation at Arendelle, used her powers to break down the door and barge inside, and then run up to Elsa, kiss her on the lips, and steal her away

Because Raps likes her a lot and she's the princess regent, or was at the time.

The former, yes. The latter, absolutely not. Shame said princess simps for a himbo. Raps had the chance to trade up.

Is the third season fixable? How would YOU fix it, Cinemaphile?

Cass and Raps have hot steamy make up sex with a Crossing The Line instrumental playing in background. Eugene , Rapunzel and Cassandra become a Throuple.

Christ, I don't know. You basically need to rewrite the whole season. It's a tall order, like trying to fix Korra S2.
So maybe you could have Cassandra focus more on finding out what the frick she actually wants instead of just having her act like a total dope and doing everything the ghoste-girl says. Like, have her go around fricking up monsters trying to prove something, kinda do a Disney Hercules thing. She gradually realizes her victories won with stolen power feel hollow and she's lonely without her friends. That whole little arc could easily take up a couple episodes on its own. THEN she might start buying into ghoste-girl's bullshit. And obviously you need polish up the ghoste-girl's manipulations, make her tricks a bit more clever.
Basically it all just comes down to making Cassandra's arc more believable and more interesting. The fricked up part is that it feels like the song writers understood that better than the show writers. In the songs, Cass talks about seizing agency and trying to forge her own path and such, but everywhere else she's just written as a dumbass getting strung along.

        >ghoste-girl

One of my least favorite bits of the entire show. I liked Zahn Tiri a lot better when he was more overtly Lovecraftian. Also when he was a HE, for God's sake. What was even the point of making him some old b***h?

Pretty easily. You need to bring in a more proactive antagonist. The problem isn't really Cass' arc itself, the problem is that it's primarily a character arc that by nature requires her to not do anything because she needs self-reflection on what she's lost and the fact that her action was more of an impulse borne out of frustration over any actual plan or idea for what comes after. So you need either Zahn Tiri doing more shit or you need someone else working with them who keeps things moving along.

I see it more as dramatic irony. Cass talks about agency and forging her own path, but she has no idea what she's doing, no direction, and no support. She's got this vague notion of what she wants out of life, but when push comes to shove her desires aren't really tangible because they're based on feelings of inadequacy.

      >third season starts with Raps successfully convincing Cass to change her mind and give up the moonstone
      >Raps tries to purify the moonstone and fails (it is somewhat implied Cass strengthened the stone with even more negative thoughts)
      >Dark Queen Rapunzel emerges and is unstoppable
      >flies directly into Corona, curses everything and everyone in her path, prepares to sing a song that will end the world
      >third season is Cass taking the role of the heroine
      >she has to face all her past mistakes and after making up with Eugene she has to travel backwards while rallying everyone on her way
      >the overarching side story through the season there is no hope to save the world unless Rapunzel dies

I do think Raps should have been the endgame villain. I've posted it on Cinemaphile before, but I think it would have been cool if they'd defeated Zahn Tiri in the runup to the finale, and then Raps had gotten her hands on the Moonstone.

She would possess both the Sundrop AND the Moonstone and she would go mad with power, and it would be up to Eugene, Cassandra, and the rest of the cast to save her from herself. The ultimate testimony to how good a Disney Princess Raps is, that she has so many people who love her enough to risk everything on her behalf.

I think making Rapunzel evil asap and for the majority of the season would open up so many possibilities even if it doesn't sound Disney compatible. Other characters could interact freely without Raps being the moral compass. Other characters could be heroic and have their own goals and thoughts instead of supporting Raps blindly. It is basically the Wonder Woman dilemma for me, where she is never the leader/main character in team ups so DCSHGv2 was a breath of fresh air. In Tangled, Rapunzel overshadows everyone else. Cass and Eugene leading the fight to save Raps with the power of past friendships would shake things up. Also if Zhan Tiri is not really in the picture until she is saved wouldn't muddy the quest to save her. Let the main dilemma is saving her. AFTER she is saved Zhan Tiri could step up and allow for a more traditional fight and a cool Cass/Raps team up.

Also I would definitely do a fake out where it looks like Raps purified the moonstone and when everything looks fine she would keep making mistakes while talking and inappropriate comments then suddenly lose it.

      1. Cass is NOT Gothel's daughter.
      2. No Zan tiri shoulder devil shit.
      3. Instead of sitting pointlessly in a forest Cass travels around neighbouring kingdoms doing heroic shit using the stone power. Quickly gains fame like she wanted, the news reach Rapunzel and Eugene. But the power of the stone gets progressively harder to control and in time begins to hurt Cass more with every use, she doesnt care and insists on continuing. Fast forward, some big danger is approaching, possibly related to the moonstone, Cass insists on facing it alone despite Punzie's and Eugene's warnings. She fights the threat but her powers are at their limit. At some point Punzie/Eugene get hurt and Cass has a moment of self reflection. She decides that selfishly chasing glory is not worth it and shares her power with Punzie so they can defeat the threat together. Something something, Cass sacrifices herself by using the power one last time to protect Punzie and dies. Punzie rezzes her. Something something, the moonstone and the sunstone get destroyed in the process. The trio reconcile, the end.

Of course it would need some polish, but these are the general changes I would makr.

Genuinely a horrendous character arc. I know people like the suit and song, but I can't imagine anyone satisfied with the way that season ended.
Also the people who genuinely wanted her to get with Rapunzel completely ignore the concept of the series, a prequel to the marriage short.
