No, all cartoons change over time. Sometimes on purpose, sometimes organically. People with autism really get enraged over minor differences in design, they might do better with shows that have more rigid model adherence, like Family Guy or King of the Hill. Board-driven shows like Flapjack, AT, SU, were really neat because I could sometimes recognize a particular boarder's style.
No. Evolution is natural. The best cartoons don't just look different season to season or episode to episode, but scene to scene, because in the old days, each scene was drawn by a different animator with their own unique style. Wanting shit to remain the same takes the fun out.
With that said, I think Jake looks better on the left, but PB and FP look better on the right.
Sometimes art styles naturally change as the artists get more comfortable drawing the characters/add in a bit more technical flair into it, sometimes it is needed but couldn't happen originally because of the lack of skill. Overall, unless if the change coincides with a change of direction and/or is ugly as sin, I don't mind it too much.

Right looks better than left
i like the left better its not as polished but is more nostalgic feeling to me 🙂
yes. A change in style = change in tone
Dexter's Lab
American Dragon
Adventure Time
Horse Show
Spongebob Squarepants
FOP (three times)
The Simpsons
Even Scott Pilgrim had a subtle change, but it's noticeable.
SpongeBob's main model design only changed like 3 times
don't forget the Polly Pocket direct to video films
Yes
If the style changes, then it's a good point to stop watching it.
I love this kind of fanart, is there more of this with Adventure Time?

No. They should have variety and change that comes naturally.
Oh this is.. really weird. Gives me a strange feeling, I don't like that.
To a certain degree. Art styles should evolve over time, but you have to remain cautious about keeping some level of consistency.
Just look at Steven Universe, and you'll see just how inconsistency that show can be.
