It's a good show, but she/he is one of the weakest parts of it. Actually, I'll be honest and say she was the worst part of seasons 1 and 2, a really dull character with shitty plotlines, but as a guy in season 3 not that bad if only because one other character in particular becomes so shitty and unlikable that it would be impossible for Vanya/Viktor to be worse.

Aside from that, Allison was only enjoyable when she was calling out the troon in the last season. Ellen's forced "I'm one of the guy's now" got tired real quick and they kept forcing it on you.
Sure, and that whole episode about that was dogshit, but Alison became so intolerable this season that Victor is just kind of whatever. Cringe way of writing around Ellen becoming a dude, but they didn't have much choice I guess.

I mean, frankly speaking, yes they should have recast her (or cast someone better to begin with, she was always such a blah character). But ultimately, they were backed into a corner if they wanted to keep their jobs.

I've only seen season 1 but I actually thought pre-troon ellen/elliot/whatever was a great pick to play a sedated schizo. The ending was pretty weak though and it has kept me from watching season 2 until I saw the first 5 minutes of it randomly on youtube
