    Hi there!

First off, let's talk about marketability.

A: Is Matt Murdock, The Daredevil currently or going to have public spotlight placed on him soon and we wish to capitalize on that wave?

B: If A is not true; is this project for tax purposes? It's pretty easy to shit out a quickie mobile side scrolling beat em up. We can get it up and out in about 3 weeks if we whip the programmer extra hard and do not quality checks. We can also send it to the Switch Marketplace by barely putting effort into porting it. We can write off the project as a tax loss, but still pull in money from ad revenue over time.

C: If this is a passion project, I'm going to have to stop you right there. At the current time, there is no room in the budget to allow for personal passion projects, unless you can convince me otherwise that this project will have such an impact on the market that it is going to start a new wave of Daredevil interest.

I mean, we had the Netflix series, which was near-universally considered the best one. Plus, aren't they supposed to be bringing him back soon?

Why would you play a lamer character than Spider-man and no cool gadgets like Batman?

Maybe as a VR experience where you're completely blind, but your hearing is super good

and once you defeat all the enemies, you watch a playback of your moves

but visually, there really wouldn't be a huge difference between this and maybe an arkham game
the only way to make the "super power" work would be to have some sort of echolocation/radar mode, which would be annoying to look at if it was all of the time

      >your hearing is super good
It doesn't matter how good the sound design of the game and headphones are because you, yourself, do not have superhuman hearing.

I didn't explain what I meant so that's almost on me
But surely the sound design of the game could increase the sensitivity and perhaps some sort of vibration feature to indicate where someone might be in relation to you

weapons going through the air would make audible noises as they move
        goons would constantly talk
people would attack you one at a time

        etc

Imagine how cool a first person Daredevil game would be. Mirror's Edge mixed with the Arkham games, bonus points if it has fantastic art direction too

    >How would you do it, and how would you factor in Matt’s disability in gameplay?
The gameplay scenarios would be extremely scripted. I'd do an open world traversal where the fringes of the world have effects to them, like it's the extent of Matt's hearing, just to keep a visual reminder ever present. Actual missions or whatever, they would play like a Spider-Man game but for a lot of clear visual cues to highlight the aspect of the character and enemies getting a quick shimmer or sheen about them, to indicate they're making noise and thus are providing the eyesight we're benefiting from. There would be spots of The Hand or whoever sweeping in silent and then it will be crucial to master the "tap" mechanic where you create a click, whistle, whatever as a walking stick taps and creates noise, and the world will fade in and out, not so sharp that you're immediately blind or unable to play for lack of being able to see, but enough to make you feel the dread of not being able to see in a tense situation. The way out of those will be memory (Hand ninjas will use a particular combo, it's on you to notice how the enemies are presently fighting for your progress- kinda like a Simon Says memory game, or something) and there can be scripted events where exciting situations are created that tell the perils of Matt's blindness.
That's generally it. Very easy to plan but execution would be vital as it's all sound/visual design and timing elements to be exciting as can be while providing gameplay challenges. I think it's wholly possible.

Oh, and I'd put in mechanics for a lot of areas like if you stealth your way through a tough situation, you can set off alarms, sprinklers, start motors, anything to provide noise and thus eyesight in a mission area. Kinda like how Spider-Man had the stealth objectives whenever you'd go to clean out a warehouse or whatever. Stopping enemies from turning them off or turning on an additional noise maker would provide an always present objective during some battles.
Really, not hard to do well.

Matt's super senses are basically the same shit as actual sight, so just make a normal action game. The blindness can be represented as a short draw distance that leaves anything outside of your immediate surroundings as a stylized black area, and whenever someone is lying or reading for an attack, you hear their heartbeat which is signaled by a red glow around their body.

insomniac is not a big company you moron, they have most of their staff working on spider-man 2 and wolverine, and I am pretty sure sony would rather have them work on spider-man 3 and wolverine 2 then work on fricking daredevil

It's more than doable, but you're going to have to do the exact opposite of what they did for Spider-Man. Rather than give us all of New York, they are going to need to keep it to Hell Kitchen exclusively and maybe some of the surrounding burroughs. The trade off meaning that you can make these areas dense as frick with actual interiors and that can lead directly into gameplay. Unlike Spider-Man, Daredevil does a lot of his work indoors so being able to freely enter and exit buildings via rooftops, side streets, whatever is going to be paramount. The combat system will be easy (if anything I want to get the Mad Max developers on it to really make the hits feel impactful). The only issue is that I'm not sure any modern developer has the restraint to actually pull off so a vision so I'll just keep here speculating.

    >dude they should just make a reskinned spider-man game for every single hero
I know Marvelcucks like the same slop over and over again but 40 hours at a time? Seems excessive
