Shrek 2 is one of the best animated movies ever made and you're not going to change my mind just because pop-culture references make you seethe.
Pop culture references is low quality humor. There's nothing funny, intelligent or interesting in making a reference of something and expect people to laugh at that because "I CLAPPED WHEN I SAW THE THING I KNOW"

I didn't say Shrek 2 was good BECAUSE it had references, just that it wasn't any worse for it.
I'm not even American, I didn't catch any of those jokes when I watched as a kid, and even missed a few rewatching as an adult, and I still love the frick out of the movie.

The entire dinner scene is kino.
That scene is the perfect example of what a sloppy unfinished piece of shit Shrek 2 is. At 2:00 Shrek coughs a spoon onto the dinner table, but when the camera pans back at 2:11 the spoon is nowhere to be seen. Where did it go? Did it magically disappear?
The animation in this movie is very poor and with really ugly and disgusting designs for the human characters
