Is either one worth watching? How do you like them? And are the comics good?
I'm looking for edgy fun bullshit, not high art by the way

Yes, and only read one comic
The first film is great and very fun despite being incredibly moody
first one is kino
not essential kino, but kino
oh right, and Carla Gugino tiddies
*chefs kiss*
First one is kino. The special edition versions are also good.
the 3rd movie is the best
>tfw you get egg on your face
the first movie is pretty good (covers 3 major stories/books pretty accurately but it's still condensed)
recommend reading the comics anyway, they're quick reads
Just watch actual neonoir like LA Confidential or Body Double, not this meme shit
Yeah first one is kino especially marv and bruce willis, second one is a bit mech, they changed 1 actor though in comic lore he has an actual full face transplant, then replaced the black guy as that black guy from green mile died.
Plus it is part sequel and part prequel from the first movie stories so it messes your head up a bit, but if you liked the first, which you will as it is kino, you will like the second, especially marv and bruce willis character parts.
Ohh just to point out because nobody has said it yet, the movies are vignettes, independent plats following characters who can or are interwoven with other plots.
Not convoluted, just something to keep in mind, that you can be watching 6 or so individual self contained plot stories per movie.
They're comic book movies, not capeshit. That alone warrants a watch for both. The first is better due to Frank Miller (the creator of the comic) not directing and writing the script alone but with the help of Robert Rodriguez (and Tarantino as Special Guest Director); plus they concentrated some of the best materials from the comic there. A Dame to Kill For is also a real solid adaptation with plenty big(ger) names, give it an honest shot if you liked the first Sin City.
It's exactly what you're looking for
More like Simp City.
accurate
Best movie of all time
I only saw the first one, if you've never seen it then it is definitely worth one watch for Marv
First one is fun. 2nd one feels off.
What's with the obsession with penis mutilation?
Frodo’s character was fricking hilarious
He was a good boi who dindu nuffin wrong. He was getting his life back on track.
READ THE FRICKING COMICS YOU moronic ILLITERATE FRICKS.
What the frick is wrong with you?
>comics
>hurrr durr they're graphic novels!
Everyone who has ever met you, hates you.
No dude, reading comics is cringe af. Only balding 40 year old dudes do that shit.
I'm not balding though
Damn now I feel bad. Atleast you’re not balding lmao.
It's already been said, but it's worth repeating. 1 is absolute kino and is a pretty faithful adaptation of the source material, so if you like the movie, you should enjoy reading them. The second one isn't quite as good, but definitely still worth a watch if you enjoyed the first one (and you don't have to wait 10 years for it to come out amid multiple rumors that it has been canceled like everyone else did at the time)
I hate the movies the first few comics are great
1st movie is fricking primetime. Mickey Rourke is phenomenal as Marv. It’s too bad he looks soo fricking bad in the second flim. I don’t know if they just fricked up the prosthetics or what but holy shit, I was in love with Marvs character/story in the first movie and then he returns in A Dame To Kill For looking like a bloated corpse.
That's because the first one was a story actually written by the author and pretty much followed the dialogue and visuals and structure perfectly and the second was just a bunch of made up screenwriter nonsense because they wanted a sequel.
That there is one damn fine coat you're wearin'.
this is the only accurate portrayal of an Ir*shman in cinema history
The first one is pure unadulturated kino. one my favorites
i think i saw the second one years later, saw it once and never thought about it ever again and forgot they made a sequel until seeing this thread
Sin City 1 is one of the greatest films period. Second has a good part, but I ultimately did not like it.
Comics are fantastic, but tend to end up repetitive towards the end.
This is also really cool.
Movies are interesting just because they go all-in on their unusual noir aesthetic way harder than they needed to and that takes balls. At points the movies literally feel animated they're so stylized.
The third story is the weakest.
its exactly what you're looking for, read That Yellow Bastard if you wanna read the comics then watch Sin City 1. Its a perfect adaptation.
Eva Green is the only reason to watch part 2. Great poster, too.
HE MADE ME WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATCH
