So, Cinemaphile, do you think the new Avatar the last airbender live action show will be as terrible as the movie was? Everything we've heard so far seems like it's shaping to be a disaster.

of course it's going to suck but at least the show failing will drive the suki actress to do onlyfans so maybe there's still hope for the world yet
>So, Cinemaphile, do you think the new Avatar the last airbender live action show will be as terrible as the movie was?
No.
It won't be nearly as good as the cartoon, because of course it won't. But it can't possibly frick up as badly as Shyamalan did.
Who the hell are you talking ab--
*Googles*
Oh. She cute.
Season 2.
Dude, she's gonna be like 10.
>blue eyes, white girl
>NA girl, no blue eyes
Oh come on, we were so close! Are contacts really that expensive?
I'll keep p with the youtube drama surrounding it but have no interest in actually watching it.
I'll still hatewatch
The visuals look more impressive at least
Will they give Zuko his redemption arc at least? I doubt it'll last more than one season.
So no
>redemption
Zuko was never in the wrong.
>we order you to find and destroy the Avatar
>okay
>this Avatar guy is actually pretty cool
Didn't he originally go after the Avatar on his own whims because he wanted his exile to end? The orders came after he let the Fire Nation know the Avatar was alive.
He was told the only way to regain his honor was to capture the Avatar, considered a nigh impossible outcome because even with Sozin's attack, nobody knew who he was or if he died had reincarnated into the next bending cycle or even the one after that. Nobody would've thought the Avatar froze himself in suspended animation before Sozin's decimation of the nomads, so if Aang had just stayed that way, Zuko would've been in exile forever, probably as a bitter refugee or changing somehow with Iroh. The FN didn't' expect him to succeed with the unofficial task its like asking somebody to find a person missing from the 1960s who was born in the 1930s.
To save face his exile was officially "a grand royal mission to capture the Avatar". It's why he was allowed to command a ship. But everybody knew there hasn't been an Avatar in nearly a century so it was a goal that didn't exist. It's why when he finds that the Avatar is alive he needs to capture him, destiny made this impossible task reality. He gave him hope
Redemption arcs are problematic, yeah we’re going to make zuko gay and him in love with aang and also maybe soka as well for a love triangle deal. And retcon the reason why his father hated him to be the lgbt thing.
Never watched the movie and don't plan to watch this slop either. So it'll be about the same for me.
have they cast toph yet? does the actress have cute feet?
She doesn't show up until season 2 and they likely won't make it that long.
*SNIFFFFFF* VHHHHHH YESSSS
Literally every piece of media surrounding the main show is radioactive garbage. From shamalams cringekino, to zuko getting cucked in the comics, to Korra shitting over the legacy and lore, to the game mill game it's all abysmal. Ok, maybe the only good thing to come from it is how hot Korras design is. But other than that I also assume this show will join the ranks of failures
Nothing avatar related that's come out since the original show has been even half as good. I'm convinced the creators caught lightning in a bottle the first time around.
The story of the first avatar in Legend of Kora is pretty neat.
>The Avatar being the human form of the spirit of the Earth?
>The thing that makes it make sense for them to be called the AVATAR?
>No actually it was some guy that got given magic powers from big turtles
no
You forget that the light spirit merged with Wan giving him the reincarnation properties.
obviously it's gonna be awful, and obviously the trannies are gonna spam about how it's 1000x better than the original show,
but I've been thinking what it would take to actually make a good live action adaptation and it's literally impossible.
as soon as you make it look real and shinny the whole idea of a bunch of child warriors in colorful garbs throwing rocks and water around gets immediately dumb.
it really only makes sense in the medium it was made for
Why do slants portray themselves as white in their cartoons?
because European faces have objectively the most aesthetically appealing features.
>posts israeli face
>Black person doesn't know how genetics work
She's heavily Danish/Celtic phenotype
The based ones don't. If the anime is gritty and realistic then you know it will be kino,
Ping Pong is the only anime that has actual characters in it. Prove me wrong. You can't.
>do you think the new Avatar the last airbender live action show will be as terrible as the movie was?
No, Impossible as at the very least they haven't cast paki's in most of the major roles or have the lead be some white kid they found on youtube
>Everything we've heard so far seems like it's shaping to be a disaster.
Very likely going to be dogshit, but I doubt it will be anywhere near as bad as the movie. The writers seeing Sokkas arc with the female warriors as 'sexist' is already enough to know they do not care at all about the original as the whole message was that in the end he realised they were legitimate warriors and respected them
i would never bother with a 3D adaptation of a 2D property. not worth it. also
>lick.jpg
I would give a lot to lick and be stomped on by Toph's glorious dirty feet.
This sounds like groundwork for rehabilitating the movie, like it was an "Underrated gem" etc. The movie sucked, it always will suck, and the netflix show will be superior.
God I want Toph to murder me with earthbending so bad
Feet
Thank God
I don't even remember Sokka being a sexist in the original cartoon. What did he say?
You'd think the most controversial thing would be Toph cracking self-deprecating blind jokes.
He was dismissive of some woman warriors they met early on, but they kick his ass and he accepts their skill and ends up getting the hots for one of them.
IE his assumptions are challenged and he grows as a character. How awful.
>a non bender trying to claim he's superior to anyone
sexism is just a mega cope in this world
>outperforms superheroes with a boomerang
Sokka is a chad
My only concern is if anyone is going to be turned into a Black person, transgay or queer. As long as they don't cast that they can do whatever they want.
