I wish the Bad Webcomics Wiki wasn't dogshit
The idea is fun I'd love a catalog of awful comics with little reviews given about them, but most of the people to write to that website are gosh darned fricking moronic, and nobody ever rewrites articles to comics that already have articles written about them, so if a comic's article comes down to "durr is dum cause bad cause dum cause poopoo huduhhhh" that's all you're left with

Not to mention half of their entries is just "this is bad because it's porn" listen, porn comics aren't exactly fine art... But also yeah... They're porn... You went into porn not expecting porn and saw porn and now you're telling us this porn comic has porn... At least if it's porn AND ALSO hilariously bad it deserves a review, but most of the time it's just that it's porn
Kit n Kay is porn, but it's also fricking weird as hell and actually deserves a review, but the article about it never talks about why it's weird, the odd spiritual and political storytelling interspersed with characters constantly fricking hard as they discuss end-of-the-world issues or none of that... They just complain that it's porn and the artstyle is "for kids" (??? b***h it's porn)

Anyway, read Kit n Kay Boodle

      >the artstyle is "for kids"
i actually love the visuals of this comic, it has that early webcomic crunch and the character style reminds me of some cheeky adult comics from the 90's you'd catch in an adult magazine or something
they absolutely think it's for kids because they're fluffy stylized animals and that's it, but this style is very common is raunchy and somewhat comedic adult media

Was this by the guy that died and he turned out to be 8 different furries?

Top of my head, Tale of Tails. But it's self-aware about the whole thing, given that it's a tongue-in-cheek furry porn webcomic. It hits way different than the sort of stuff where it's just a weird jumble of hyperspecific fetishes because that's what the author thinks is perfect.

The Bad Webcomics Wiki was always trash. It was literally never good, even when it was an earnest attempt to follow in the footsteps of John Solomon. That is a big at the time blogger who took potshots at webcomics and was, in retrospect, not even all that funny himself. So right now it's a bunch of people who learned everything about what they do from a bunch of people who tried and failed to copy a bad reviewer and mid comedian who was briefly popular because he was the only one doing his particular thing. That latter part also being why Bad Webcomics Wiki is still even a thing at all.

Their output is abysmally low, on par with a webcomic that swears it's not on hiatus. Just a glance at their forums and you can see it's coasting on the fumes of 5 grumpy and unfunny members who get b***hy when a webcomic makers ignore their "advice". Truly a sad sight of a site.

The artist very much goes for that "BODY DIVERSITY WOOO! REALISM! FAT ROLLS, UNATTRACTIVE PUSSIES IT'S ALL NATURAL OWN IT BABE!" thing in a way that feels very
Put on.... Maybe that's what causes this horrid artstyle, it's the attempt to draw things they don't actually consider attractive and pretend they're attractive

A person who truly loves something, no matter how unconventional, will find a way to make it glow through their art
Someone who truly adored lopsided breasts or beef curtains or fat rolls or cottage cheese legs or anything else that's considered conventionally unattractive will draw it in such a way that'll almost make you reconsider because you can just feel the love flowing through their work
But when they don't love it... They almost try to make it look ugly, because they see it as ugly, and they feel like NOT making it ugly is almost doing it a disservice... That's why lord forgive me for uttering these words "SJW art" looks the way it does. These people don't love what they draw, but they wanna seem progressive, so they make it ugly un purpose to make people recoil from how gross it is, and then get on their high horse that's riding another, even higher horse, and go "AH YES, YOU SIMPLETONS DON'T SEE THE BEAUTY IN THIS *yuck* HORRID THING! BUT I DO! I AM DIFFERENT!" so on and so forth.... The emperor is naked and the artist is pretending he can see the clothes...

I think it's just the same thing that happens to "cool" characters tweenage boys try to draw. Guns are cool, fangs are cool, claws are cool, vampires are cool, black and red is cool...why not mash them all together? Kids can't into nuance or subtlety. More is always better.

In the circles where people do this stuff out of ideological motivations there's also often the idea that you can't fetishize things. After all, the spaces these people move in are often very anti-male. It's the same idea behind that weird hang-up where they celebrate thirst-baiting cosplay, but will talk shit about the people who came up with those characters in the first place. So it's not just a case of those artists not thinking it's attractive, but them having to walk a tight rope where portraying things too positively is a bad thing.

It kind of reminds me of a somewhat older practice. Artists with a fairly cartoony art style suddenly drawing women with hairy legs to signal their progressive attitudes. But it flies in the face of the usual sense of abstraction in their work, and the worst of them use really thick lines to achieve the result. So it's just there to be there. No, no-one thinks it's "icky" because that's physically impossible when your style isn't really capable of being disgusting or hot by its very nature. No-one beats off to the "hot" characters, either.

          >But when they don't love it... They almost try to make it look ugly
Yeah I always got the impression that artist like this make their self inserts ugly out of the same deep seated self hatred and insecurity that make hentai artists to draw their self insert MCs as ugly bastards. And both also put those ugly self inserts into wish fulfillment situations where their ugliness is compensated for. It's kind of an ass backwards way to approach the whole "body positivity" angle when you can directly feel how much the author actually dislikes these "ugly" traits in themselves. I'm all for characters with conventionally unattractive traits drawn in an appealing way, but it's incredibly rare to see it done well.

It's complicated (like everything else in this damn comic), but they all ended up being put on trial by an angel of the God of Goblins. The part demon one cut off a chunk of one of her horns and gave it to another one of the goblins to heal their wounds. Instead, it fused with him, turning him part angel.
