Makes you wonder why even bother with Luke if Obi-Wan can just beat the shit out of Vader like it's nothing. Just gang up with Yoda, join the Rebels, and save the Galaxy. No, we will do nothing.
Star Wars is fricking moronic.
With all the other shit being added in shows and the EU it'd make sense if all the remaining 100 or so Jedi teamed up and just took down Vader then Palpatine together.
People get old and suddenly can't kick as much ass so they need a new generation to step in, moron
Yeah, and that's why he just fricking leaves him and does nothing about him, letting him kill countless more people and terrorize the Galaxy for 10+ more years, when he could have stopped it easily. Brilliant writing. And he clearly stated "Then my friend is truly dead." This moron had no reason not to finish him off in a battle (Vader still wanted to fight), or take him into custody, interrogate him, and put him on trial. He is the second most important man in the Empire. But no, he just fricking leaves him. Frick this moronic show.
And there is now something called “The Path” - which is stupid because we know most of these people do not survive into the OT Era or The New Republic Era (except Corran Horn who joins Luke’s Jedi Order). So now, Obi Wan has condemned these people to death.
>except Corran Horn who joins Luke’s Jedi Order
Which ALSO amounts to nothing! People can and do shit on Rey for being a shit character played by a shitty actress but the fundamental conceit of the sequels does not get enough hate (the rehashing of Empire vs. Rebels)
99% of that era and story (the New Republic/ New Jedi Order) have not been told yet. There are literally thousands of interesting things that they can do to explain where some of Luke’s Knights and Padawans wind up to preserve their legacy post ST
I didn't really get the sense in Vader being BTFO either. Should have had them separated or something. Have Kenobi put up a far better fight than first time around but still on the defensive because he's still dealing with a superstrong (both physically and in the force) cyborg powered by rage and hate.
This. His helmet should have been damaged as in the actual show or like pic related but he doesn't get defeated. Maybe the helmet breach is the only real blow Kenobi is able to get in the whole fight and even if Kenobi acquits himself well, he's still got a bloody lip, forehead cut, etc.
Why is battle damaged Vader so kino? Seeing a bit of the burnt flesh and glowing orange eyes through the armor is always great. Not even the inherent gayginess of Rebels could prevent it from being a cool moment
Anakin is much more powerful than Obi-Wan. And Anakin has several wins over Obi-Wan too. However, Anakin loved Obi-Wan and I believe he always held back. In fact, in the first two fights that Vader won over Kenobi he actually spared his life instead of finishing him. That’s not typically the Sith Way
To be fair this is a legit criticism of the prequels
When Obi-Wan 1 shotted Vader and rejoined Yoda & Organa at the end of ROTS, why didn't they immediately fly to Coruscant and 3v1 the Emperor? Yoda was doing pretty well on his own, with Obi-Wan he'd be laughing.
Fight 1: Anakin should have won, he was more powerful and dominating the duel - however Anakin has a low IQ so he jumped over Kenobi - and Kenobi took the swing
Fight Two: Vader completely dominated
Fight 3A - Vader completely dominated
Fight 3B - Obi-Wan gets a “destiny of the chosen twins” Force Amp and defeats Vader (though Vader is still on his feet with saber begging for the fight to continue
Fight 4 - Vader dominates (but Kenobi always knew he was going to lose this duel anyway
I only watched this fight on YouTube and not the show (not even for free online as I do with all other Disney shows) and the music was so fricking shitty. Like goddamn, it's the most uninspired THIS IS EPIC choir music possible, like they got it from a stock music company. Why in God's name not use the stuff Williams did for Episode 3 - because Disney would, God forbid, have to pay the man a few extra shekels?
Out of all the clips I've seen Vader shouting when choking the ooga booga b***h out was okay. I can't recall Vader raising his voice in anger/frustration past the prologe of New Hope.
So for the record,
Obi-Wan knew that Vader was a genocidal mass-murderer. He considered Anakin already dead. He knew that Vader would continue to murder indiscriminately. And he decided to let Vader live, again.
At what point does Obi-Wan bear responsibility for Vader's crimes?
>Obi-Wan kills Darth Maul >Kills Grievous >Kills countless clone troopers and stormtroopers >Thinks he kills Anakin earlier >Refuses to kill Darth Vader after learning that he's indiscriminately murdering literally everyone and after he considers Anakin already dead
Wow, great writing
It undermines the ot too much. So Obi wan and Vader waited all those years to train Luke to kill vader- when obi wan could have done easily and then joined forces with Yoda to finish the emperor. It's so fricking stupid, it's destroying Vader and the ot for no reason.
Right. Vader and Palpatine were supposed to be way out of Obi-Wan/ Yoda’s league, and this only Luke with his unprecedented M-Count could possibly hope to match the Sith Lords in combat
Watching the original SW from 77 is, you could say, reflecting a more "civilized time." Everyone and everything is so much more restrained and cool and collected and subtle. Compare that to the overwrought unnuanced melodramatics and juvenile dialogue of Kenobi.
>juvenile dialogue of Kenobi.
I can't get over Kenobi saying "Hello there" when meeting Luke. It was the worst possible moment to throw in the meme line
It's not so much the choice of "Hello there", it's more how they presented the scene in a really awkward, stilted, 'lol we're aware this is a meme so meta' way. It doesn't feel like a genuine impromptu human exchange of a kindly mentor showing some warm kindess to a child at all.
Not only can a documentary series about the fricking fiasco that is the Sequel Trilogy but kino but so too can one on the Disney+ shows. It seems what happened is that Kennedy and co did not micromanage Favreau and Filoni and because of that, they produced something decent with Mandalorian. It wasn't even 10/10 godly and had its flaws but was fun, earnest, had a genuinely cool character, was small in scope, and was pretty close if not exactly totally Star Wars.
Kennedy and co., being greedy, arrogant fricking morons, then went mad with this success and began micromanaging something that went down so well exactly because its makers did not have to deal with suits and now we're dealing with shit like BoBF that is supposedly so expensive yet so shoddy to look at that they double as evidence for Disney money laundering - all in some bid to mimic the MCU now that the Sequels have went down in flames. It's so fricking transparent that if Marvel had their Bad Purple Man as the arch villain, then Thrawn will be the Bad Blue Man for THEIR IW/EG event series.
Pretty kino vader mask though. I think the design for the ANH was better but it was clearly made of shoddier materials than the ESB one. Basically the mask variant with the smaller chin vent made of higher quality materials is God-tier
That is moronic though. Based on how close Obi Wan and Anakin were Obi Wan hardly looks surprised to see Vader after all those years on the death star. It makes much more sense based on Obi Wan's demeanor that he already came into contact with Darth before that meeting.
Or maybe he became aware that Vader survived in the 19 years between ROTS and ANH. Vader is the Emperor's right hand man. He should be pretty well known around the galaxy; even on Tatooine.
Okay but there's no Warlock Overlord to control the Empire with Dark Force. How's this dude and Palpatine's lackeys going to hold together the Republic?
>Luke, did I ever tell you about this dope ass adventure I went on 9 years ago? I know I may not look it since I've aged 25 years since then, but actually it was dope as frick and I went touring around with your sister Leia, who pretends not to know me, anyway you can watch it all on Disney+ , unfortunately I can't play it here as they don't accept Republic Credits on Tatooine
But he wasn't "about to lose". He was about to take a really long time and end up distracting the rescue party with his situation.
>uhhhhhh he MEANT to get brutally murdered by space hitler bro
lmao
Makes you wonder why even bother with Luke if Obi-Wan can just beat the shit out of Vader like it's nothing. Just gang up with Yoda, join the Rebels, and save the Galaxy. No, we will do nothing.

he doesnt want to kill him
he wants him to redeem himself
>the good man that was your father was destroyed
>he's more machine now than man, twisted and evil
>tells luke to kill him or the emperor wins
SIR
YOU WILL NOT REDEEM THE REPUBLIC CREDITS SIR BLOODY BASTERD
Yeah, and that's why he just fricking leaves him and does nothing about him, letting him kill countless more people and terrorize the Galaxy for 10+ more years, when he could have stopped it easily. For 15 more years actually.
And there is now something called “The Path” - which is stupid because we know most of these people do not survive into the OT Era or The New Republic Era (except Corran Horn who joins Luke’s Jedi Order). So now, Obi Wan has condemned these people to death.
Kathleen Kennedy’s Star Wars is so dumb
>except Corran Horn who joins Luke’s Jedi Order
Which ALSO amounts to nothing! People can and do shit on Rey for being a shit character played by a shitty actress but the fundamental conceit of the sequels does not get enough hate (the rehashing of Empire vs. Rebels)

It's almost as if anything made after 2005 is not canon.
*1983
*1981

They can defeat Vader but not Palpatine
Why?
Yoda was equal with palps, obiwan can block force lighting
Obi-Wan got his ass whooped by Count Dooku twice. TWICE. Palpatine would have crushed Obi-Wan in a battle
Anakin whooped Dooku. Obi-Wan whooped Anakin, TWICE. The second time even harder than the first one.
Anakin is much more powerful than Obi-Wan. And Anakin has several wins over Obi-Wan too. However, Anakin loved Obi-Wan and I believe he always held back. In fact, in the first two fights that Vader won over Kenobi he actually spared his life instead of finishing him. That’s not typically the Sith Way
No, just shit writing.

Yoda lost his lightsaber in the duel with Sheev.
>So? Why not use the Force whilst Obi-Wan 1v1 the Emperor? Do they not have backup swords?
who are you quoting, newbie?
Your mum, she said this as I fricked her ass
Quit jerking off Vader.
No he thought him twice. The frick are you talking about?
Fight 1: Anakin should have won, he was more powerful and dominating the duel - however Anakin has a low IQ so he jumped over Kenobi - and Kenobi took the swing
Fight Two: Vader completely dominated
Fight 3A - Vader completely dominated
Fight 3B - Obi-Wan gets a “destiny of the chosen twins” Force Amp and defeats Vader (though Vader is still on his feet with saber begging for the fight to continue
Fight 4 - Vader dominates (but Kenobi always knew he was going to lose this duel anyway
More like
>Obi-Wan destroys Vader
>Vader destroys Obi-Wan
>Obi-Wan destoys Vader
>Obi-Wan basically mocks Vader and lets him win
I only watched this fight on YouTube and not the show (not even for free online as I do with all other Disney shows) and the music was so fricking shitty. Vader raises his voice on the rebel ship in ANH and while shouting over Leia. That's about it. He's pretty calm and collected the rest if the time
So for the record,
Obi-Wan knew that Vader was a genocidal mass-murderer. He considered Anakin already dead. He knew that Vader would continue to murder indiscriminately. And he decided to let Vader live, again.
At what point does Obi-Wan bear responsibility for Vader's crimes?
And then tries to convince Luke to kill Vader and throws up his hands in frustration when Luke refuses to.
At the end when he has Vader strike him down
this is gonna sound dumb, but "its not the jedi way"
even though earlier in the season obi wan used a civilian as a meat shit lol
We talking about the same Obi-Wan who chopped off three of Vader's limbs and tried to manipulate Vader's own son into killing him?
>Obi-Wan kills Darth Maul
>Kills Grievous
>Kills countless clone troopers and stormtroopers
>Thinks he kills Anakin earlier
>Refuses to kill Darth Vader after learning that he's indiscriminately murdering literally everyone and after he considers Anakin already dead

Right. Vader and Palpatine were supposed to be way out of Obi-Wan/ Yoda’s league, and this only Luke with his unprecedented M-Count could possibly hope to match the Sith Lords in combat
>cuts anakins legs off and leaves him to burn to death
ah yes, the jedi way
Killing sith lords is in fact the jedi way
What was the point of letting him live only to try and have his kid try to kill him years later. Too stupid
Watching the original SW from 77 is, you could say, reflecting a more "civilized time." Everyone and everything is so much more restrained and cool and collected and subtle. Compare that to the overwrought unnuanced melodramatics and juvenile dialogue of Kenobi.

It was originally going to be Darth Maul, but Boba Fett and Kenobi movies got retooled into mini-series after Solo flopped.
Pretty kino vader mask though. I think the design for the ANH was better but it was clearly made of shoddier materials than the ESB one. Basically the mask variant with the smaller chin vent made of higher quality materials is God-tier
Given how old of a character Vader is, someone by now must have done some autistic analysis as to what makes the Darth Vader mask a great design.
EUChads, thoughts on the whole 'Vader's suit is agonizing' thing? I don't know, always struck me as a bit edgy/being EXTREME DUDE for its own sake.
Vader and Obi-wan never fought between episodes 3 and 4. Anything that says or shows otherwise is 100% fanfic. End of story.
That is moronic though. Based on how close Obi Wan and Anakin were Obi Wan hardly looks surprised to see Vader after all those years on the death star. It makes much more sense based on Obi Wan's demeanor that he already came into contact with Darth before that meeting.

Only if you count unofficial fan fiction
The OT is so fricking stupid
No you moron, OT was great. It's them wringing money out of manbabies like you that retroactively made star wars so damn idiotic
>star wars fan calls others "man baby"
Kek
have a nice day
So what would've happened if Yoda and Obi-Wan were able to kill both Palpatine and Anakin? Whom do the Clone Troopers listen to now?
this blue homie on the left
i jerked off to that bald lady so many times as a teen and i’m still not sure why
Okay but there's no Warlock Overlord to control the Empire with Dark Force. How's this dude and Palpatine's lackeys going to hold together the Republic?
>Obi Wan defeated Vader twice
Only the OT is cannon.
