It helps that artificial wormholes were placed by a more advanced civilization that helped them cross galaxies and pass through a black hole safley into a 5th dimension. Its like they got a cheatsheet

Except TARS and Pooper manage to send the solution to the equations through Morse code as the ghost in Murph’s bookshelf which allows humanity to build space habitats. And this is all because TARS, that was built by man, is able to take a look at the “black hole data” it was in and finally solve gravity. Which begs the question why didn’t they use TARS to solve the disease problem?

Are you tarded? Do you know you would get spagettified going into a blackhole? Gargantua had an artificial wormhole placed by the others that took coop and tars safely to a 3rd dimensional construct inside 5th dimension space.

Who said anything about scientists in a bunker? I was specifically talking about TARS you illiterate moron. The supercomputer that solves anti-gravity. Why don’t they just plug biodiversity and soil health models into TARS and figure an ecological solution to their problems on earth instead?

Why didn’t they bury TARS in the soil so it could transmit soil data to some scientists to solve the disease problem? Seems like these scientists aren’t trying enough.

I mean if you had the power of time travel and went back in time to ask the entirety of human civilization "Would you rather we help you have the ability to grow crops better, or help you get the ability to go into space and colonize a thousand new planets" what do you think they would do

      Anonymous

What's the point of colonizing other planets if you have no food (from crops) to feed your colonies? Food seems way more important. And since the movie never gave a reason why crops were failing other than hinting at not-climate change being the cause, it is a massive plot hole. But hey midwits want to feel smart, so don't think about it just look at this amazing black hole CGI that took years to render omg so amazing

Earth is dead, the film states explicably that the blight eradicated all plant life except gmo corn and the entire planet would become oxygen depleted (dont ask how though). Without plants the earth turns into venus hell pretty quick, theres no bunker you can hide in to avoid that.

          >hey let’s go solve this other unsolvable problem that’s very dependent on us having a steady supply of food and manpower

          >oh btw we can grow crops in space now

Basically Interstellar is made by an anglocuck moron that dreams about going to space to start “anew” because it’s all inherently rooted in the mongolturkic nomadic culture it stems from. Anglocucks never created a civ so the concept of staying put and learning to live in harmony with nature is foreign to them, which is why they tend to be the predominant shillers of “colonizing space” before any problems on earth are solved.

The truth is the smart solution is to figure out the crop diseases as well as the social paradigms that lead to such devastation (such as suburban sprawls, the use of fossil and nuclear fuels, the lack of good public transport, etc) and then endeavour to go to space, once the problem of how to maintain a civilization for the long term has been figured out. It is clear the society in Interstellar has not done that yet and are jumping the gun, in predictable anglocuck fashion.

Nolan clearly plays with the idea of black budget in our world and we know that there's a lot of it going to space stuff.

The power that future humans have would be incomprehensible for normal humans. Cooper was just like
    >oh yeah I'm apparently inside of a black hole and there's a magical tesseract where I can watch myself and my family like 40 years ago, and if I punch the books they can see it, and I'm going to use light to frick with this watch's hands, no big deal

How the hell they even build a pratical anti gravity machine the instant they solved a mathematical proof?
