Look, guys, I get it. I actually prefer DC (for what that's worth), and I know Marvel stuff is normie religion. I know the themes are no where near as good as LotR, but LIKE LotR it's good to just put on and watch for 2-3 hours and it's a story where once the plot resolves the heroes win the day. I tried playing this because it was free and the gameplay felt like baby dark souls, all the enemies were the same and the combat was so incredibly shallow and generic. I hate games where you're playing and then you trigger a cutscene and your chatacter starts walking slow and all actions are stripped away from you because the game wants you to listen to the "story". Just throw me in a world and let me play. This is also why I can't play last of us and uncharted.

Why are HL2gays so defensive? I've played the game near release and at the time it was novel you could walk around, click stuff and characters would tilt their heads towards you on first playthrough, but it all is meaningless on replays and now in hindsight is a bad practice, not to mention with how overused it become it's valid to point to HL2 as the cause. Everyone loved "the immersion" at the time.
It makes me wish for loading screens again.

There are plenty of games that don't have to rely on tedious stuff to be immersive. There are games that do it well too, like Elden Ring for example. It has elevators, it has jump pads, it has cutscenes here and there for some environmental changes. It isn't banging you on the head with it every 10mins when you're trying to go through an area. Last of Us is also a good example to be quite honest. It does the hallway cutscene style well because its engaging. In God of War, you'll either have moments where you're have to deliberately slow yourself down so you don't miss the dialogue or be forced to a crawl without choice so you don't advance too quick and break the script.
the point is that if you're immersed enough in the story you won't even notice you're holding the stick or you won't mind because you're just interested in what is going on.
I mean when you're holding the boar you're supposed to capture how pretty the forest is until you're hit with wonder at a giant tortoise coming out the ground

This was a great game, kind of a walking simulator but the story was good. Everyone that dislikes it is either (rightfully) miffed it's a departure from the original gameplay or (wrongfully) because they don't know a good time.
