protip: if you don't allow the drug into your body, you won't be addicted, it's that fricking simple, and anything you say to contradict that is a basedgument (onions argument)

I was playing vidya online while drunk with a friend, we did something pretty funny so I went to hit the instant record on shadow play and must have started it recording instead. I woke up the next morning in a puddle of my own vomit, glasses broken, splitting headache, just covered in puke. I was so hungover that I didnt realise my pants were still streaked with bile while I was out getting my glasses fixed and gathering together a hangover cure. After I got home and finished cleaning everything I was organizing shit on my computer and I came across a 3 hour audio recording of my desktop, with me black out drunk, alternately vomiting loudly and rambling to myself for hours. The recording only ended because I ran out of hard drive space. I'd fallen out of my chair face first and hadn't really moved from that spot the whole time, I just kept throwing up and rambling. Listening to that made me seriously consider the state I was really in and I poured everything out after that. Not sure if that could help you but it was my eye opener.

Do you think you could ever go back to drinking, but in moderation? I had some drinks with friends at a bar and was surprised when I went home and didn't drink more simply because I stopped stocking alcohol in my home

Yeah. I still drink, just only socially and I never go farther than a buzz. Definatly helps to not keep alcohol in the house, and it's nice to be the guy that can drive when nobody else can. I found quitting to be a really easy choice after my eye opener.

step 1) detox in-patient or out-patient. i personally like out-patient because in-patient detox facilities often take your phone from you unless you're going to a half-decent one... even then, you're still locked up somewhere like an above-average jail.
step 2) go to rehab and participate in groups. your participation is more important than what you hear/"learn" (if you have an IQ above 90 you won't learn anything. use the time to reflect and think about yourself.)
step 3) read something about not drinking every day (AA Big Book makes this easy)
step 4) go to an AA or other recovery group meeting when you feel like you want to drink or think you're going to want to drink soon or just do it regularly to cover your ass
step 5) be in regular contact with friends/family
        step 6) smoke/vape
step 7) keep yourself busy with things you like to do. don't like to do anything? see a therapist about it.

Nobody, drinking a shot of hard liquor in one shot is already pretty hard; drinking vodka like that like fricking water would frick you up in so many ways that it's impossible for himi to even get out of the car after a hour.

Drank 0.5l Vodka once at 19yo in 30-60 minutes.

I was fricking wasted and my friend had to bring me home because I couldn't function anymore, but it's definitely possible if you are older, bigger and a trained drinker.

I got a DUI and I'm still doing shit like that. I've been living this way for years, I've only gotten one DUI, I'm more worried about my own body dying and shutting down, than I am about the state.

Frankly drinking and driving is worth it if you do the math. If you plan on drinking and driving twice a week, the amount you'd spend on taxis is equal to getting a DUI every two years, which never happens. I worked this out about five years ago, with inflation it's probably a lot less than every two years that youd have to drive drunk before its cheaper to take cabs.
Still haven't gotten a DUI yet! Have been pulled over for it twice but they let me go both times. The second time I actually had to take a breathalyzer, which I failed, but I passed the field sobriety tests somehow and the cops let me go.

Rehabs won't get you sober, nor do you need them to. You have to truly want to be sober, from within. Once you do, you'll stop. Simple concept, but getting there is extremely difficult.
