As a muppet fan i can't lie l love this more than I thought I would . Like I'm critical of newer muppet stuff or I'm just not into it. But something about this show felt like actual fans of Henson era muppets wrote it. Yea Its got current trends and references in their, but in a real way as in the band are old relics that need to get their name out there again. Like that " the muppets " comeback movie from 2011, basically this show is if that was a series, and instead of all the muppets it's just the electric mayhem, making a comeback tour and getting their shit together.

No, it's nearly all about some OC human brown chick who goes from Intern to CEO of a record company and is instrumental in every achievement the band has and becomes a member of the family at the end and has two guys fighting over who loves her more, one of which is a billionaire. Her story arc eclipses anything the band gets to do and is really fricking annoying and distracting. They have long drawn out scenes of human drama 'muh dead dad/ muh career isnt working out/ muh boyfriend issues' etc. And they think by putting a muppet in the background it'll distract you from how human centric the story is.

Also Animal's dialogue is literally mostly yelling the human woman OC's name the entire time.

Any time it's just the band it's good though, shame that's like 5% of the runtime. The (incredibly short) flashbacks to how Dr Teeth met Floyd are great mostly because she can't be inserted into those.

All the marketing makes it look muppet centric, it's not. It's human centric.

        >So, didn't watch past episode 1, cause Animal talks about a lot of stuff.
Go watch episode 7 and shut your fricking mouth moron. Obviously in the first episode he talks about a ton of shit, they want to draw you in. Watch the whole show before you try and refute me disneyshill.

Watch the fricking series, cause Animal doesn't just talk about Nora. He has the most dialog he's had in the entire run of his career. Don't fricking refute a Muppet fan, you moron.

Frick off we get three to four episodes where Animal ONLY says NORA NORA NORA. Sure he gets more lines because it's a full fricking series but the Nora/Moog/Smooshie drama takes up way too much fricking screentime and is obnoxious. The last 2-3 episode where the band split and go their own way gets no fricking development because we waste like three episodes on Nora and her sister that go NOWHERE and then smooshie just walks out of the love triangle at the last second so Nora doesn't get any repercussions for all the stringing along she's done? The human element to the show is terrible and way too overbearing on the story. The show needs to about the band not about the human insert.

            >Jim Henson had half muppets half humans
You mean, an entire theater, audience, staff and cast of Muppets with a special human guest star? I love when morons get shit mixed up.
            >Bill 'Dr. Teeth' Baretta wants to do a series of the Muppet band, only the muppet band
            >morons on the internet start screeching 'WHERE'S KERMIN, WHERE MRS. PIGGY? WHERE'S FONZIE? WHERE'S MEEPER? WHERE'S GIZMO!?'
            Frick off.

            >You mean, an entire theater, audience, staff and cast of Muppets with a special human guest star? I love when morons get shit mixed up.
Outright lies. Frick off mouseshill. The show is the Nora/Moog show with the band getting barely any screentime in comparison. I'm not talking about kermit and piggy you mouthbreathing moron. I'm talking about the mayhem. You know, the characters the series is SUPPOSED to be about? Humans are side characters at best in muppet productions. This is the fricking Nora show. She gets more screentime than the entire band combined.

You either didn't watch or are just mouseshilling so I'm not wasting my time on you any more. But anyone else reading this, it's a decent show, ruined by the human element which takes main stage. The band are an afterthought and ignored in favor of Nora's Sister/Love interests and career drama. Make of that what you will.

You mean ONE episode where he says Nora for a few seconds?
Also, if you read the fricking review I quoted here

They say 'Jim Henson had half muppets half humans'. He never did. And you're upset it's not the Muppet Show from the 70s. And because it isn't, it upsets you. Yet when they tried to re-invent the Muppet Show with Jim Henson Hour and Muppets Tonight, you fricking homosexuals were no where to be seen.
Bill Barretta himself said the band isn't the focus cause they're really ONE NOTE CHARACTERS.

Do you go into Godzilla movies and cry when Godzilla's not the central point? You expect an hour and a half of him just roaring and smashing shit?

NTA but this is a terrible fricking analogy, because the human parts of Godzilla movies are always the absolute worst part of the film. So yeah, people do want to see Godzilla smashing buildings.

Yep, without the human stuff it would be a lot of fun, especially since she always has to be such a victim. It's like she wrote her character to compete with the band in some tragic backstory contest.

      >Animal's dialogue
This is the most Animal has spoken in over 50 years. The only time he spoke this much was Muppet Babies (2018). He usually just says three words max or repeats what's being said back to the person saying it. You HAVE seen the Muppets before, right?

Listen up you Mupoeteers and listen good. What's absolutely hilarious about the Muppets is that these cartoonist characters can interact with real people who, hilariously, accept these lumps of foam rubber and carpet as other people. That's why the funniest sketches by far were the ones where some celebrity is just sitting at that table backstage with the rose in a vase having what they believe to be a straight interview with Kermit or Fozzie or somebody - followed by those Swedish Chef bits where they got some celebrity cook to come thinking they were doing a cooking bit. Also why the overly structured and isolated bits like where they're teleconferencing aren't nearly as funny but some other bits just happened to hit - and it invariably comes from someone legitimately slipping into sincerely relating to a Muppet and then that Muppet does something ridiculous and there's a moment of cartoonist surreality, but in real life with a real person in real time. THAT is what the Muppets can do that other forms of entertainment can't and THAT is what should always be foundational to Muppet bits.

Just finished the first two episodes and I have to say it’s definitely better than I was expecting. In terms of “modern” muppets, here’s my rankings:
    >Muppets Most Wanted
    >Muppets Mayhem
    >The Muppets (film)
    >Muppets Now
    >the muppets. (TV)
I need to watch the Muppets Haunted Mansion

Watch the rest of it. First 3-4 episodes are decent, but then it nosedives and by the end you'll see what everyone here is talking about the garbage lead girl taking over the story.

My problem with the show was that the main actress kept talking to the muppets like they were puppets instead of regular humans.
Muppets work best when their presence feels completely normal.
