He's sort of full of himself, he believes there is no challenge he can't meet, but maybe that's just heroism. He is empathetic to suffering and nurturing to Jenny. No qualms about violence, he isn't afraid to kill. He loves fiercely and will probably let the planet burn if it means Midnighter lives. Not that smart. Likes good things.
Before writers reduced him to just Midnighter’s wife and gay Superman, Apollo was oddly detached and unemotional and honestly wasn’t very open/nice to people who weren’t his friends/family. Much closer personality wise to pre batgod Batman than Superman. Didn’t have qualms about killing but didn’t relish in it like Midnighter.
Midnighter was the more emotional one, obviously being very angry and relishing in violence, but he also cried in front of the whole Stormwatch team when Bendix was finally out of the picture (until he wasn’t). He also was bothered by the idea of being “made” by Bendix instead of being a normal human whereas Apollo didn’t really care about that.
Also forgot to mention according to Jenny Fractal and Bendix, Midnighter was engineered to like violence but Bendix didn't do that to Apollo which raises some questions.
Yeah I really miss the old Stormwatch and Authority. Everything after the reboot has mostly been shit. Orlando's Midnighter was only thing that wasn't shit and even then I don't like Apollo's new new personality, even if it's better than the dumb blond personality Millar and Ennis did.
Stormwatch new 52 was fun, and Orlando's Midnigther as well. But that book didn't care about anyone else besides Midnigther and Apollo's suffered ever since. The weird Future State Midnighter story was cool was well, but it too was only interested in Midnighter and not in Apollo
It's crazy how in Wildstorm Apollo was a global peacekeeper who was on constant watch (first on Stormwatch, then on Authority) but on DC all he seems to do is hang on with his husband and go on dates. Like he doesn't care about crime or injustice anymore unless he happens to be close to them by chance.
1. he can fly
2. he's midnighter's boyfriend
what do you not understand?
what if superman but gay
He's not even allowed to be fun while gay, like Middy flirting with Dick
All he does it just sit at home waiting for Middy to come back
Well evidently he's the jealous sort and doesn't take bad news well.
From what I've read

This is really cool and you made me remember when I read Wildstorm many years ago. I wish we could go back to this characterization

Didn't new 52 Stormwatch have the owl rape
I don't remember that
New 52 Midnighter's origin was him getting abducted by alien owls as a child
And then he proceeded to be a creepy stalker towards Apollo
>So what exactly is Apollo's personality?
Gay.
He's really nothing like Clark. Not a bad person but definitely more self interested then humble.

he's meant to be the soft gay one. no one likes midnighter because of his attitude.
he's literally just fag superman.
