Pure shit. Operates around the level of the average CW trash. Watch Patriot instead if you want depressed hitman kino.

Based, just finished season 2 the other day. Not as good as season 1 but still better than most television today.

Its good. I think it takes some turns and stances that a lot of shows wouldn't. Biggest being the main love interest woman is a terrible human being and the show makes sure this is known.

The action and hitman side of the story is really interesting and well done. The entire bike chase was such a cool segment. Curious to see what season 4 does, with you know, Barry getting caught

Season 1 was good, Season 2 was hit or miss, Season 3 was boring and uneventful with a bunch of new characters that didn't get properly built up compared to how well Season 1 was set up.

I was okay with it being a a small story for the first 2 seasons. But season 3 just tries to do so many big stuff, that doesn't feel that connected, that i dozed off towards the end. I liked the idea of Sally getting a TV show but that happened in like what, 2 episodes? And then it got immediately cancelled? That was too cartoony for me. Atleast the lily & ronny episode was from the hitman world, so it had some flexible reality, meeting someone completely unrelated to the world we've seen. But we know how TV shows worked, they tried their absolute best. Sally worked her ass off, and then, boom, bang, done. The show didn't even give her the chance to become a small celebrity, or even have Barry watch the damn show. The show was about toxicity of men right? He could've easily watched it and maybe learned some stuff about what the world considers toxic. Just, develop the character a little. The premiere of the season was great, but it had Barry so disconnected from the acting stuff that there was no intenseness regarding whether Sally would find out or not.

Still a good show though, s3 just needed to be faster. NoHo Hank!

Yeah, I agree with some of your points. I think the biggest issue in Season 3 was that it strayed quite a bit from the side of Barry being an actor. We hardly see him do much work in Hollywood, no acting classes really. Could have worked with Sally maybe on the show?

        Anonymous

I'm guessing you meant Barry on the show at the end, and i completely agree. Barry should've been atleast a side-character in the show. So there could have been some intenseness about him missing shoots, script readings. That way you can have Sally explode on him about his mysteriousness and make things even more intense between them.

Just btw, the cancellation arc was based off of something that actually happened to a friend of Bill Hader, specifically that a friend of his told him that they got a project of theirs onto Netflix, so Bill Hader said he'd watch it, got around to looking for it a while later, and found it was gone, as it turns out that Netflix just deletes content off of their service if they find too little user interaction immediately after upload.

Darn, I had no idea. But, was that a idea that should've been explored in this series? It was such letdown to see a character that I was rooting for, reach her dream, and get fricked by a gag.

S1 and S2 were really good imo but S3 was a miss. I also don't see any way how they're going to make an interesting S4 with every arc wrapped up.
Bill Hader is clearly very talented though, I hope he produces more stuff.

Do they have a contract for more seasons already? They should just end it here with him getting arrested and move on, I doubt it will be as bad as trying to make another season of Lethal Weapon after Riggs got killed off, but it can still only go downhill more from here.

        Anonymous

Yeah, a S4 is already confirmed and I don't see any way it's not going to suck. Hader should just move on and create something new with what he's learned from making Barry.

hader said that he has a script for a film ready, but he's solely focused on barry for now. he's planning to direct every ep of season 4, so he's going to be busy.

Both Barry and Ted Lasso should end in the next season.
I think Bill Lawrence after scrubs learnt the lesson altough Lass S2 has so much Ndubu and romance shitty plot points

Absolute unwatchable autofellatio pretentious award baiting shit. Watching it made me angry and annoyed. ACTING! NOW IT'S COMEDY NOW IT'S DRAMA ACTING! NOW IT'S POSTMODERN ABSURDISM! ACTING! Everyone involved in the show should put a gas mask on, stuff the tube up their own ass and sniff it until asphyxiation.

    Season 1: Great
    Season 2: Good
    Season 3: Silly
Despite Season 3 trying to be a drama and getting rid of nearly all the humor it still ended up the silliest. Consequences for actions are completely random so you don't feel invested in any action taken. Giant multi murder mile long street shoot out? No consequences. Publicly giving out info with your face for a bomb app? No consequences. Random man shows up to your door and tells you to kill another random man? Implicitly believe him and don't ask any questions whatsoever. And our Hollywood favorite, experienced combat vet male gets taken out in one punch and is saved by his 110 pound girlfriend utilizing her cqc magic.
Just give us the one season Noho spinoff and be done with it

The joke stuff being few and far between made them funnier to me but I think the jokes peaked at the self-dismantling revolver. Everything else was just sensible chuckle-tier.

      For me its
      S1 9/10
      S2 8/10
      S3 7/10

First two seasons did a better job balancing the comedy and drama for sure.

Kinda bad it wants to be a serious drama but sucks at it so it is a comedy. The finale especially was completely terrible and I cannot stand the media surrounding it.

"Bill Hader wanted the finale to feel like a panic attack", "When I talked with the actors some cried when I told them what happens", "A writer got an anxiety attack from working on this", "Our whatever guy usually takes a day to finish his job, but for this episode it took him a week".

      Anonymous

Yeah, I have some notes on how Bill Hader talked about that finale, here:

"... if you’re going to be dealing with stuff like a murderer, domestic violence, PTSD, a gay character put through conversion therapy — it’s really awful stuff. It is not really good to be funny about it. It felt like with this last episode, nothing funny should be in it... "

Barry sucks. The show really wanted to be breaking bad but everything is too fast and it’s not quite the show we were marketed. Everything on the show is an inexplicable coincidence but they’re like “yeah, this is what it would be like if it was real”. It’s just such shit and they act like they spend all this time trying to make it make sense. Also Bill clearly hates Barry at this point, he’s a monster who can’t change, but whereas I thought the show was more of a satire and intending to do something interesting with that instead they veered off in this other direction. I feel like the show could of been a very biting satire of Hollywood at one point but they backed down to do this other shit.

A normie friend recommended this show and I was bored so I gave it a shot. Its a weird mix between SNL-tier improv humor and wannabe dark gangster/hitman. It fails spectacularly at doing both. Calling is "mediocre" is an insult to HBO shows that are just "meh".

Its utter trash. Unfunny and uninteresting.
