Is the Thunderbolts movie the best example of how incompetent the MCU has become post-Endgame? They've been teasing that shit for like three years now. It should've happened already, especially since the team is comprised entirely of old characters that have already been introduced. "Marvel's Suicide Squad" is not a huge enough thing that it needs this much build up.

Tony's position seems logical but then again he is to blame for a lot of the shit that happened and it is his fault so really he is asking for someone to watch over HIM rather than learning his lesson. Meanwhile Cap just doesn't want to be controlled.

/thread. Cap did nothing wrong. All the scenarios presented showed damage caused by the villains that would have been infintely worse if the heroes hadn't intervened. The DC footage specifically was the fault of a Global intelligence agency that almost killed millions and took over the world if Cap hadn't defied them and taken them down by himself. Tony, on the other hand, is responsible for half of the Infintiy saga villains. Tony should have just put himself in check and let the others keep on truckin

        Anonymous

The Sokovia accords wouldn't even really put Tony in check in the way he needed to be checked, either. If I'm not mistaken, all it would do is require permission for the Avengers to act. It's not like creating Ultron or indirectly creating the Maximoff twins with his weapons, or inspiring Iron Monger was something that happened in the heat of the moment. Everybody freaked out because of collateral damage to a hospital during an Avengers mission. Collateral damage to civilian structures is kind of an unavoidable fact of war.

The truth is that neither of them had any intention of following the Sokovia Accords. Stark went rogue the second they became a hindrance to him. The accords were going to happen one way or another, so Stark wanted to play along to keep a hand on the wheel. He knew that if push came to shove they could blow them off.

It's obvious the Avengers only have good intentions in mind. They're basically all Vigilantes but they're powerful enough to defend the whole planet.
They solve problems more efficiently and with less tax-paid resources than the government.

The plot is that people got butthurt over casualties, because the reality is that when bad shit happens people get hurt. If normal policing forces tried to deal with anything the avengers did there'd be 10x more casualties.
Furthemore the "sins" of the Avengers are on full display and they take accountability instead of lying and doing cover ups.

She would go onto kill many more kids in the years that followed, as well as enslave an entire town. Honestly, it's more of a Scarlet Witch problem than an Avengers problem. Guns don't kill people. It feels very strange to be living in a post-MCU era. So much of my early adult life was defined by complaining about these movies and vocally hating them. I was in the Industry, so it was my job to be ensconced by these things, but now that my side has ostensibly won and Disney is no longer considered untouchable, it's weird to look back on it all and see the usual suspects still not admitting we were right.

The old refrain was that Disney bought reviews. That's what the Internet fanboys said and they weren't EXACTLY right, but they weren't wrong, either. Disney paid critics in access. And they were also recently caught consulting with a PR firm who literally paid critics $50 a piece for a positive RT vote. How fricking sad is that? That's how much it takes to buy a movie critic.

And people will say it's not a big deal because it's just movies, and to an extent they're correct, but I still maintain that art has value. Culture has value. We live richer lives when creative people are making interesting things. Think back to when you were a kid and going to the movies. Think about your favorite movie or band or song or game and how much those things meant to you. It gives texture to your life. Is it a necessity? No, not really. But it makes life better.

And Disney wants to ruin that. Frick them.

This is actually one of the cases where this is untrue. It's because of the events of this movie that the Avengers are split up all the way up to Infinity War and ultimately the reason they lose against Thanos.

That's only after Tony, Strange, Spider-Man, and the Guardians are on Titan. I'm talking about all the Avengers being united on Earth from the get-go, which Strange wouldn't be counting as potential outcomes, as that obviously wasn't possible anymore at that point.

Doctor Strange was totally WRONG about that though. There was more than one scenario where Thanos was defeated. He just didn't like them. He was a jackass. He should have destroyed the time stone like Tony said. In the end, it ended up getting destroyed anyway, well reduced to atoms.

Never saw the movie, only read the comics cross over event. Cap was 1000% in the right, Tony was a bootlicking statist cuck homosexual who betrayed his friends. It was exactly the sort of thing the American government would have done, trying to solve a problem by punishing the innocent parties instead of the literal bad guys, and cap was right to oppose it wholeheartedly. In a world where metahumans exist and there's nothing you can do to prevent them generating, you should count your lucky fricking stars that there are some vigilantes among them willing to step up and oppose the less altruistic and down right psychopathic ones. This is like arresting the law abiding property owner instead of the ANTIFA BLM mob harassing him because its easier.

Cap was in the right. Iron Man fricked up so bad. I wish Cap had put him in his place when he finally came back to earth in Endgame when he was ranting and crying.

That airport fight is definitely a top 5 MCU scene though.
    I'm thinking:
    1. Infinity War ending once Thanos is on Earth.
    2. Civil War airport fight.
    3. Three Spider-men in sync on the statue of liberty.
    4. Iron Man cave reveal.
    5. NY fight, "I'm always mad" highlight
    6. Final fight vs Ultron in cathedral.
    7. Captain America elevator fight.
    8. Gotg prison break

There really should've been a reunion-argument between the two of them at some point. I agree that Steve should've torn into Tony, but I also think Tony let Steve off light. I was hoping he would've gotten into "You put your boyfriend over the Avengers and over the entire Earth!" more than he did. Instead all he really said was "You weren't there."

Why did Zelensky get elected on a platform promising peace with Russia and the Russian people who live in Ukraine, promising to abide with the decades long Minsk agreements, then do a 180? Dragging a Christian nation into a meat grinder war with a nuclear superpower, shelling the Donbass and supporting acts of savage violence and reprisals against Russian men women and children living in Ukraine, ever since 2014?

It's a bit silly calling it an invasion. Would America tolerate nuclear weapons on the Mexican border and Russian biolabs on the Canadian border? I think they had complaints about the Cuban missile crisis or something.

Clearly Stark for getting angry. Cap knew Bucky killed his parents.

I don't remember what their motivations were but I remember the characters acting moronic for no reason. It did have some fun moments though.
Oh wait I remember Bucky being an absolute piece of shit and Cap was on Bucky's side so I'm gonna say Cap was in the wrong.

I forget where exactly, it was in some spoof video... But someone had the final showdown between Tony and Steve/Bucky happen like this: Steve tried telling Tony the usual "He was mind controlled, it wasn't his fault" routine, when Bucky told Steve to stfu, he's not a child that Steve needs to coddle. He owned up to what he did and apologized to Tony, then basically just surrendered. Tony was still pissed, but with Bucky apologizing it took the bloodlust out of him, and they all just went home together. I guess that would've been too safe and status quo-preserving, but still, it would've been nice to not have Steve be a dickhead and Bucky be a non-entity considering he caused 90% of the problem.

No fricking way Cap and Bucky could defeat Iron Man.
Ironaman suit mk.3 in the first movie was shown capable of holding Audi SUV in air
If nothing, Tony would have non-lethal counter-measures.
I get that Cap had to win and I personally align with his side, but the fight was written stupidly.
There are worse offenders in Marvel movies, but still

In the fight's defense, it was a 2-on-1 and Iron Man didn't really have room to maneuver very well, or else he would've just flown up and rained missiles and repulsors down on them until they were dead. Even with how things went, Tony still almost won.

I still cannot get over the fact that they made Tony Stark the pro State regulation guy and Captain America the pro independence of private actors guy.

Captain America because Tony supports the US government

If you're siding with the government on anything, you're likely in the wrong. Especially in this instance when it was violating privacy and freedom.
Also, the government's position in general is moronic. The superheroes get blamed for fighting bad guys? As opposed to just letting the bad guys do what they want? Are they just meant to let the aliens invade New York?
Everything was working fine, why try and change it?

In the comic some wannabe heroes blow up whole school full of kids so reason for hero control is obvious.
In movie they blow up some noname Black folk during some noname secret opration like USA always does and suddenly it's a big deal and supersad for some reason.

    >Be Stark
    >Be friends with Banner
    >Know enough about Banner's origin story/how he became the Hulk, to name the Hulkbuster "Veronica", in reference to Betty Ross
    >Therefore, should also know that Gen. Ross chased Banner around the world for 3+ years, because he wanted to weaponize the Hulk

    >Be Thunderbolt Ross
    >Chase Banner around the world for 3+ years, causing shit ton of casualties and damage because you want to weaponize the Hulk
    >Lie to your superior officers about Banner and don't tell them about the Hulk
    >Put a soldier through a similar process to the Hulk
    >He turns into a monstrous Abomination
    >The Hulk has to come in and stop him/save the day
    >Retire
    >SHIELD Documents are leaked, more then likely including information about you're involvement in the creation of both the Hulk and the Abomination
    >Somehow become Secretary of State

    >Be Stark
    >Team up with Thunderbolt Ross to make the Avengers accountable... to Ross

Yeah nah, Tony was a fricking moron and definitely in the wrong.
