They had the good sense of commissioning them to actual talented trams, plus the Matrix is such a good and versatile concept that anyone can come up with an at least decent story (except for Lana apparently, matrix 4 was fricking cancer, holy shit).

Further more, I used to be a short distance runner in my youth and there is indeed a sense of freedom and zero gravity when the gun goes off and you start running. It's hard to explain but it's a very unique sensation, I don't think I've ever felt it in any other situation. Takeshi Koike and Yoshiaki Kawajiri knew what they were doing.

It was okay, but pretty much all the other shorts were better in my opinion (apart from the 3D one and the ugly colorful one - that was truly awful).

Was this the one with the glitched-out haunted house? That was my favorite because it was kinda spooky but it was still a very low-stakes low level subtle matrix story.
