PotC 4&5 were big mistakes. Jack was too campy and silly to be a lead, but a great supporting character.
Even 3 was a bloated mess and had a lot of cringe stuff and silly lore. 4&5 took it to the extreme. 5 started to dip its toes into "women are so much more competent than men!" type of shit too, I literally turned it off and never finished it
It bothered me how they kill Sam and his family offscreen.

You can only milk a series so long based on the initial success of a movie. The first movie was great and is still amazing. The second movie looks pretty but isn't as great and the third movie is just meh. I watched 5 seconds of the 4th movie and just said nope.
They were all shit, there was nothing extra shit about the fourth one and that one did over a billion dollars
The first 3 where great. First one was a great story the second and 3rd had CGI that still beats modern CGI and a lot of good cinematography.
