Fair, i think weirdly he works better as a character divorced from peter in a sense. ASM can't develop this kind of relationship as of now & if slott isn't taking it next year then we won't see something like that push peter in a significant way. And I don't like Gwen or her relationship with Miles cause she's kinda trash, but why do people here act like Miles stole her when the whole thing is that she and Peter will never get together and never have in the first place? Peter always ends up with MJ anyways so it doesn't really matter. Now if they paired Miles with MJ instead, then being angry would be somewhat jusitfied. But even then, alternate couples happen across comics and multiverse stuff all the time, so there's no real legitimate reason for it to be considered bad for happening with Miles other than "I don't like it cause I don't like it".

I think Slott realizes he fricked up and is trying to capitalize on the Spider-Man sidekick thing because you can tell he desperately wants back in. He's probably going to have Superior Spider-Man stick around and push that as well. It's all he has going for him. Creating something new and interesting is hard work and unlike the 60's actually paying an artist or writer to create something new would involve paying them a fair portion of profits.
