Spider-Mans rogues gallery is full of cool villains conceptually, but most of them are treated as a joke
Spider-Man has a great gallery of villains but it has two big problems: it's a sausagefest (the females generally are either gag characters or derivates of already existing males) and 90% of the good ones were created in the Ditko and Lee era, while every decade has spawned at least one good Batman villain.

Oh defintely. Altough batman's has hte issue that most of the female villains turn into good guys defintely.
I dunno, each decade also created one or two spider-man villains generally. It's also more so that the lee ditko ones are just THAT good.
