I’d be ok with a spectacular Spider Gwen only because >1. Her getting powers is reasonable since she works where the spiders are >2. She’s not gonna jump right into heroism and will likely spend a great deal of time trying to hide her powers >3. A spectacular arc where a mysterious second spider without webs helps out Peter before disappearing with him having to figure out her identity would be cool.
legit i'd love to do a Spider-Gwen story for my Spider-Man continuity, basically Peter already having his Betty and Veronica dilemma between Mj and Gwen but after Gwen gets bitten by a Spider while working at Oscorp, Peter eventually realizes she has the spider sense and vice versa and this brings them closer together, Peter teaches her how to be a hero, and basically its a love story, the happiest Peter has ever been in his life with Gwen as his partner in fighting crime and the love of his life simultaneously. But that's eventually gonna come at a horrible cost by the end....but thats basically an entire season storyline i have envisioned.
Nice idea, how much work have you put in so far? I'm working on my own Spider-Man story.
Awesome and same here. I actually have a plan for the spiders to create more villains than heroes in the end, with some other spider goes actually getting powers from spider venom plus other effects (for example scorpion and Electro are both bitten but Max falls back into the sludge in fear) this eventually results in Peter, Gwen, Jessica, and Cindy (not a hero but still has powers) coming together with Human Torch and having him burn the spiders to death to ensure that no bodies are left. Because the Thousand taught them that they’re still dangerous after death.
Pretty intriguing, and a nice way to give the villains some more interesting powers. In my own, Peter and Anya are the only ones to have powers, but it's a lot less action-oriented.
Neat. I’m trying to go for more of a feel of Peter being a loner in a world where other young heroes are starting to emerge. Every actual power that’s plot related comes from either symbiotes, technology, other dimensions via Oscorp experiments, or their experimentation with mutagen T, which is terrigen but never called that and usually harvested from mutant bone marrow or genetically altered mollusks

I'm also trying to go for Peter being a loner, but a true loner. The Avengers are still technically active, but never do anything for an unknown reason. Due to the lack of any heroes, organized crime took over. Peter is the only person trying to stop anything, which makes him extremely vulnerable and in over his head trying to stop societal corruption.

Oh yeah I totally agree on that front. I’ve always loved the way Spectacular did their Peter. Only change I made on that front is that Peter actively keeps other heroes at an arms length away. He’s fine with the occasional team up, but he will always subconsciously sabotage any team that he’s on as a fatal flaw. He’s just not a good team player in the long run.
I also wanted to give a lot of the stuff other than organized crime this almost urban legend feel it it, with Kingpin even telling Spider-Man that the city is run by gangsters and monsters, and he’s better off siding with the gangsters because at least they’re still human.

Fair enough.
Personally I’ve always wanted to revamp some older TNAMS villains for more modern spidey and make expies of alt spider men as villains. For example, I’ve always wanted to have Patton Parnel as a classmate of Peter’s. And I always thought it would be cool to have a spectacular esque prison scene except with original locked up superpowered criminals as well. Ones that feel more like slasher villains or early SCPs (not modern ones) than supervillains.

TNAS? Idk they're all just expies of other villains already.
And making new villains does seem a tad risky given just how many great ones spidey has, but it'd depend for sure.

I always felt like Shikata, Turbo Jet, and Christina had some potential with a couple minor changes. And Indy could be a minor classmate similar to how spectacular picked a grab bag of Spidey figures to populate the school with.
Like I said, they’re not really meant to be huge villains to impact the story. They’re meant to be minor, yet horrific, superpowered criminals from around the country locked up in the same prison as the Sinister Six. Like the spectacular episode Opening Night but more horror themed due to random inmates having visceral powers, like one guy having an elongated and barbed tongue, or another having metal spikes protruding from his fingers and implied to be an early escaped weapon x test subject.

>spectacular Spider Gwen
I'm sure they would've went that route. Spectacular had a thing for sneaky teasers, but that's just too close. First time I watched Spectacular was around two years ago and that moment immediately stood out to me.

>legit i'd love to do a Spider-Gwen story for my Spider-Man continuit
Had my ideas, except they're stupid: >Peter & Gwen are bitten on the same day. >He goes on to become Spider-Man while Gwen doesn't really acknowledge it. >She doesn't really like Spider-Man at first since "he's not taking things seriously". Since her dad is a cop, Gwen views this stuff overly serious and might even work in that field in future. >Suspecting things, but prefers to "not overthink it". Does begin to spend more time working out. >Eventually it all leads to the first Green Goblin fight where Gwen almost dies and she uses her powers a little bit. Peter still saves her. >Parker feels guilty and keeps distance with Gwen over summer. >She changes her mind about Spidey since he's Peter and decides to become Spider-Women. >First year of college. >Spidey's costume changes to black. Gwen gets inspired. >She's about to-... Oops, Peter dates Felicia now. >Seething.exe >Becomes Spider-Women in spite of it and ends up killing Jackal because in this universe he's crazy pervert that hunted down young blond girls after being left for dead as Oscorp's scapegoat.
Spider-Gwen didn't exist for years after Spectacular
That's didn't stop The Animated Series from inventing Spiderverse (the good version of it).
I like this. I especially like how you seemed to mix the original Gwen, spectacular Gwen, and a bit of Silk together here. And I love the more classical serial killer feel for the Jackal. I’ve always loved the idea of portraying Spider-Man’s enemies as less like supervillains and more like characters from horror movies or detective/crime fiction
>original Gwen, spectacular Gwen, and a bit of Silk together here.
Yeah. At first she was kind of okay with it from the start, which seemed lame to me. I know that Spider-Gwen's costume is fine, but I would've mixed it with Silk in order to try something new.
...and yeah, both Peter & Gwen would have organic web. Web shooters are needed to uitilize it properly.
Another potential interesting think about it is I think that (in some way) Gwen would've gotten kind of Superior. I mean, she would've had "that moment" with Felicia. >And I love the more classical serial killer feel for the Jackal.
The idea with him to be more like of Punisher type: just a total bastard. Positioning him as outright rapist seems too edgy, but there's probably gonna be vague allusion to that.
it all leads to the first Green Goblin fight
Which first Green Goblin fight? Gwen wasn't around for those, or even knew Peter in highschool.
That anon is tlaking about their fanfic, where it seems gwen is in HS with peter, which is a change almost every piece of media makes, understandably so. Why wait tointroduce iconic characters? Especially if you have a time limit.
>Which first Green Goblin fight?
Fanfic bullshit, as other anon says. The bridge fight. Goblin would've come out at the last moment (finale of first season, volume or whatever) to get to Spider-Man. This Norman would rarely go into direct combat, which mirrors the original idea of Goblin project as "super-agent" with experiments on Skrull's DNA.
I don’t remember what moment you’re referencing but I really like everything you’re saying, especially with the combination of organic and inorganic web shooters. I’ve always wondered if Spider-Man’s diet could effect the organic webbing too, like with him being unable to make any if starving.
As for the Jackal I love the bastard feel of him, and I commend your restraint there. Personally I’m also going for a less edgy more spectacular type feel, but still with plenty of horror elements which are designed to scare rather than have too much edge. Only kinda exceptions are Norman’s increased serial killer similarities inspired by American Psycho, the Thousand, Carnage, the Kingpin being like a fusion between Netflix and Spiderverse, and the sheer number of fricked up things The Gentleman did to the Parker family. Especially the separation and faked death, and him being directly responsible for Parker Luck

>I don’t remember what moment you’re referencing
This one. Gwen would have her usual "gargoyle moment" of sitting at top of a building and daydreaming. Felicia would want to talk about something (probably about this rendition of "Venom problem", but not sure) and try to patch things up with Spider-Women who treated both her and Spider-Man coldly. Black Cat would ignore her request to be left alone, resulting in a punch & Gwen having a breakdown afterwards. That would lead to a point where she becomes more calm again. >the combination of organic and inorganic web shooters
It just makes sense this way. Organic web doesn't seem to have been used all that much outside of Raimi trilogy, but that way also doesn't devalue Peter's (and then Gwen's) genius. Just that on its own, web is pretty much impossible to shoot as you need just enough pressure. >Personally I’m also going for a less edgy more spectacular type feel
I would rather have more adult-esque spectacular feel at least when it comes to Spiders specifically. Have more freedom with getting things darker while not getting into "le edgy" moments like Ultimate with the likes of Maximoff's incest.
Kingpin would be a global street-level thread, but more of a Daredevil business.

Thanks for clarifying. Superior had a lot of moments so it’s easy to get mixed up. And yeah, I totally agree on the spectacular but darker but not too edgy feel. I want the freedom to have an occasional curse and maybe some blood and on screen death, but never anything more than what’s done in the movies. I just feel like a tiny bit of bloodshed and adult themes can really increase the drama or comedy of any given scene. As flawed as the MCU is, I did laugh at the Ned porn joke, and more importantly, my sister laughed. Furthermore I would love the freedom to recreate the Doc Ock hospital scene just cause I love both the brutality and loss of control shown in every version. But I agree that it should be somewhat subdued.
And once again I like the way you plan to handle the organic vs tech argument. Personally I prefer inorganic webbing, but only cause I like the tension of running out of webs and various web gadgets. Also I think it would be fun if Gwen figured out Spider-Man’s identity by realizing that only one other person knew of the “chem-tether’s” existence. And said person hadn’t talked about it in months despite it being a passion project he occasionally asked for help on.

>Superior had a lot of moments so it’s easy to get mixed up.
That's kind the only one I remember. Haven't read comics, but probably gonna change that. Gwen taking the Spider-Women duty seriously with next to none jokes would have a bad effect on her. Don't know how common this explanation is, but to me it was both about keeping yourself calm and annoying enemy for Peter. She doesn't do that, so obviously there comes a point where it all falls apart. >I just feel like a tiny bit of bloodshed and adult themes can really increase the drama or comedy of any given scene.
Yeah. You don't scream "Peter & Felicia frick" every 10 minutes or so. That's just comes off as you getting off your fantasies... Which might be true to a certain degree, but that's not what it should be about. >Doc Ock
Honestly, I have no idea what to do with him. Initially I thought of him as "one-off" villains right after the accident, but that might feel like a waste. Would definitely lean towards Raimi portrayal more. >if Gwen figured out Spider-Man’s identity by realizing that only one other person knew of the “chem-tether’s” existence
That's one way to do it. I think there would've been a point of Peter intentionally revealing himself to Spider-Women as photographer to drive off suspicion. And Gwen would let him do his job because part of her wouldn't be upset at him + Parker would be basically at a low point of his life. From the loss of his uncle & aunt to a Venom's influence on Peter in spite of his intentions.

Thanks, but that's exactly how it would've been presented in something more edgy. There, people don't want to look at character making love. They want to see sex.
>Yeah. You don't scream "Peter & Felicia frick" every 10 minutes or so. That's just comes off as you getting off your fantasies... Which might be true to a certain degree, but that's not what it should be about.
Agreed. Like I said, it’s like the movies. Not the way adult swim does it but just the occasional touch of blood or sexual tension here and there with more realistic guns and mentions of stuff like drugs. The problem is most adult cartoons make the mistake of using sex, gore, cursing, etc, as the entire plot instead of as a mere enhancer. >Honestly, I have no idea what to do with him. Initially I thought of him as "one-off" villains right after the accident, but that might feel like a waste. Would definitely lean towards Raimi portrayal more.
Yeah, Raimi and spectacular were pretty good portrayals but the PS4 one is great too. Overall I see Ock as a foil to Peter himself, or a warning of what he could become, and I think he works best when he’s a bit sympathetic, but ultimately chooses to give in to his selfish greed and lust for power in the end. There’s a reason why he leads the sinister six, and I always got the feeling he gets some level of sick enjoyment out of having powerful individuals at his command.
I just don't see Otto as long-term bad guy and he's unlikely to be a lead of Sinister Six in my iteration. More like him being one right after the accident or some time afterwards, but then getting cured and heading on redemption path. Although I might just suck at villians because I wouldn't even have your classic black suit arc as I took Sony's Venom/Eddie as the foundation.

I have nothing written out, but might start working on it as a hobby/passion project to see how well I fit in respected field. Originally I thought about doing the same type of thing with one gaming franchise, but I think I might be too tired of its current state. Going back to Spider-Man is a proper return to roots for me.
And, even though he's the star of the show, it's more about working out an entire Marvel universe.
Although I pretty much favor street-level stuff, I would rather have lengthy background to all of it. Like, I think its best to make Spiders story start post-Civil War & Secret Invasion maybe somewhere at ~2007-2008 (both events are directly related to each other) as their aftermath is meant to reset the status quo that was established by the likes of Fantastic Four & original Avengers in mid-late 20th century. Public would start to view current heroes as vigilanties because their reputation took a big hit and it's pretty much 50/50 between their own fault and Skrulls. So Peter would be rather skeptical when it comes to most Avengers.

I liked Ult gwen too, personally, but Ult gwen was even less like 616 gwen.

Eh, given Greg it seems that they were going to do clone(s) instead of that.
And she was good because she was nothing like Gwen Stacy except in name.
Ultimate Gwen was good when she was edgy b***h who threatened to stab guys for fricking with Peter. After they brought her back from the dead she lost her edge and became a painfully generic supporting character.
Overshadowed by MJ and Kitty Pride. Literally 4th place out of 3 contestants. Funny enough she was a front runner after Miles took over the book. Part of the reason for Sitting in the Tree could be contributed to plotlines left behind with the defunct Ultimate Line.
>Retcon away the marriage with no explanation or time spent establishing how things played out in this timeline >Writers doing past story minis just go with the marriage continuity
Why didn't they just have the universes shift again?
JMD doesn't give a frick about any altered past because of OMD. In the Ben Reilly mini he explicitly mentions that MJ is pregnant which never happened post-retcon
It's really bizzare that these covers almost always use 616 Gwen but any Spider-Gwen stories and adaptations go as far as they can to distance the versions.
Spider-Gwen's Peter death doesn't even feel like a parallel to 616 Gwen's.
>marybawdgays
maryslottgays*
Really though, it'd cute that you think anything after OMD matters. Marvel's been Pete's hellscape for over a decade and you're taking this shit seriously.
Yost's Scarlet Spider was great. Spidey teaching X-kids was cute. Other than that they could flush the last 15 years and nothing of value would be lost.
I'm guessing >Flash more recently has moved away from Peter and co. >movies always portray him as a bully and never have him become part of Peter's friends' group so normies have no reason to stir up even more drama >Gwen died lel >Sins Past stirred up drama with a completely out of the left field character >random guess: none of the writers took the Flash/Gwen thing too seriously so aside from a few scenes, there wasn't a big deal made out of the attraction
>But when the media dub him the Gold Goblin, he has to start wondering – can he ever get away from the Goblin inside?
So are they just going to ignore that they just wrote nice Norman, pre-Goblin as a man who would sell his child to the devil?
Are they just going to ignore that just before the Red Goblin stuff, Slott did a whole arc where Norman lost The Goblin and was still an evil frick.
And i mean the comics had made him abusive to harry before he was a goblin too, so it has shit to do with the goblin. Outside of it being childhood phsyological trauma i guess.
>Slott did a whole arc where Norman lost The Goblin and was still an evil frick.
Peter used nanites that took Norman's powers away, that's all. It didn't do anything to fix him mentally.
It's still depicted as Norman with out the mindset of the Goblin, and he's described as being more sane without him.
Even back in Dark Reign when Norman was heavily medicating, it was depicted as Norman trying to keep the Goblin at bay while still being a Lawful Evil tyrant.
The bigger "sin" though really is that the story this entire premise is built off and continuing had pre-Goblin Norman sell his child to the devil.
They aged him up and aged her down for the crossover and it still turned out illegal, can't make this shit up

If Gwen Stacy really does come back from the dead (not a clone, not an alternate reality, not a time travelling alien android) then the Marvel 616 universe will have officially jumped the shark. The original Gwen is the only Spider-Man character, Marvel universe character in general who hasn't come back from the dead. To undo this would completely destroy what little is left sacred of the spider-man mythos.
I guess this thread wouldn't survive for long. Hopefully there would be a new one, so loser like me can mumble about their fanfic nonsense and other Spider-Man bullshit.

>legit i'd love to do a Spider-Gwen story for my Spider-Man continuit
Had my ideas, except they're stupid:
>Peter & Gwen are bitten on the same day.
>Seething.exe
>Becomes Spider-Women in spite of it and ends up killing Jackal because in this universe he's crazy pervert that hunted down young blond girls after being left for dead as Oscorp's scapegoat.
>Peter & Felicia make love
FTFY
Thanks, but that's exactly how it would've been presented in something more edgy. There, people don't want to look at character making love. They want to see sex.
Your iteration sounds pretty intriguing. Going to publish it online anywhere?
There’s a reason why he leads the sinister six, and I always got the feeling he gets some level of sick enjoyment out of having powerful individuals at his command.
back to cuckshed Slott
it all leads to the first Green Goblin fight
Which first Green Goblin fight? Gwen wasn't around for those, or even knew Peter in highschool.
That anon is tlaking about their fanfic, where it seems gwen is in HS with peter, which is a change almost every piece of media makes, understandably so. Why wait tointroduce iconic characters? Especially if you have a time limit.
And she was good because she was nothing like Gwen Stacy except in name.
I liked Ult gwen too, personally, but Ult gwen was even less like 616 gwen.
Eh, given Greg it seems that they were going to do clone(s) instead of that.
She was smart i guess.
Ultimate Gwen was good when she was edgy b***h who threatened to stab guys for fricking with Peter. After they brought her back from the dead she lost her edge and became a painfully generic supporting character.
Why isn't she popular? She's hot.
Because nobody cares about Ultimate and she was changed after coming back to life?
Overshadowed by MJ and Kitty Pride. Literally 4th place out of 3 contestants. Funny enough she was a front runner after Miles took over the book. Part of the reason for Sitting in the Tree could be contributed to plotlines left behind with the defunct Ultimate Line.
She's cute here, even though piercing is a turn-off for me.
Gwen has always been cute.
That's true. Didn't liked her in Spider-Man 3, even though I don't hate the movie itself.
Holy shit those text bubbles
This is Bendis isn't it?
>Ultimate Spider-Man
What gave it away?
I dont get why bendis brought her back at all really.
Its so strange.
He's in for what?

From a symbiot spider-man mini by Peter David recently
Don't bother.
>Mini-arc set during the black suit saga
>Peter and symbiote go on repeated magical acid trips and mindfricks
Why are they implying Gwen and Spider-Gwen are the same character?
They're different versions of the same character, they're honestly more consistent to each other than 616 Peter to himself 50 years ago

She is coming back deal with it.

>Retcon away the marriage with no explanation or time spent establishing how things played out in this timeline
>Writers doing past story minis just go with the marriage continuity
Why didn't they just have the universes shift again?
JMD doesn't give a frick about any altered past because of OMD. In the Ben Reilly mini he explicitly mentions that MJ is pregnant which never happened post-retcon
JMD is such a chad.
And admitbely the history of the marvel universe book also referenced the pregnancy. And it seemed quesada was the one saying it didnt happen.

I like some post OMD stuff like anti venom (yeah dumb but i like it) or one or two character ideas.
Yost's Scarlet Spider was great. Spidey teaching X-kids was cute. Other than that they could flush the last 15 years and nothing of value would be lost.
I like Yost's scarlet, but i do think JMD wrote a more unique Kaine, if that makes sense?
That's fair, really. A lot of the stuff i like is just their attempts at fixing what they broke.
Heh.
Of all the Spidey love drama that pops up, why does Peter/Gwen vs Flash/Gwen never come up?
Could you imagine a cartoon where Gwen ends up with Flash in the end due to surviving and Peter getting with MJ?
I'm guessing
>Flash more recently has moved away from Peter and co.
>movies always portray him as a bully and never have him become part of Peter's friends' group so normies have no reason to stir up even more drama
>Gwen died lel
>Sins Past stirred up drama with a completely out of the left field character
>random guess: none of the writers took the Flash/Gwen thing too seriously so aside from a few scenes, there wasn't a big deal made out of the attraction
Flash got better love interests like, Betty, that asian prostitute, and Felicia.
Can't wait for Gwen cucking Peter again
Norman is the Gold Goblin confirmed, he's going to be a hero now.
Just like Ock and Venom before him, why the frick.
Yeah, that makes it even dumber.
I wish Marvel would stop making him suffer.
How does one anon get so delusional?
Didn't she diddle 16 year old Miles when she was in her early 20s? A 25 year old guy is just what she needs to correct that sort of deviant behavior.
2 years is nothing. that 10+ year gap between Her and Peter is a problem.
The public education system has failed you since you are clearly illiterate
Nah, You're spouting bad info. They've always been 2 years apart.
They aged him up and aged her down for the crossover and it still turned out illegal, can't make this shit up
Miles was already post a time skip before even the 1st Spiderverse event. Gwen has never been older than 19.
Gwen is at least 21 if not older. She was allowed into a bar and Miles was not
She entered a nightclub. Nightclubs typically allow anyone above 18 or older to enter in NYS. Gwen was also affected by Kamala's law which only targeted Supers under the age of 21.
Was she? I'll admit I barely read anything that involved outlawed but I just remember her being pissy about Peter not really giving a frick about the new law
That was a retcon of a retcon, if you're going to use that then her age might as well not matter at all because she can be whatever age they need for whatever story they want to tell
Source?
give up gwen isnt for miles, she's for ganke
Nah. Guaranteed if the Ultimate line wasn't scuttled Miles + Gwen would have been addressed in the next arc or 2.
she's made for lizard wiener
Weren’t Miles and Ganke in middle school when they were still in the Ultimate universe?
Yeah
The remembrance get together at Aunt May's house was post time-skip, Spider-men, and Spiderverse. They were both in high school, either Freshman or Sophomores.
Wouldnt gwen be college aged by then tho?
Probably. there's about a 3 year difference between Ultimate Peter and Ultimate Miles. Either College or Senior at school. When we see Gwen again post time skip she's working part time at a Chinese restaurant
A bit longer since USM peter was 16 when he died, anf miles starts HS after being spider-man for a while, so she should be in college i think.
I don't think they actually put any thought to that.
Oh for sure.
And it's probably fault of both writers & readers, if anything. Because, like... How many people actually care?
The people who read them probably. I've noticed off Cinemaphile, more Ghost-Spider fans seem to want Gwen paired with Miles than Miles fans want her paired with him.
how many of them are comic book fans? I can understand the ITSV fans wanting it because of shit taste, but they have negative attraction in the comics. Even Benis hasn't been able to change that.
I was talking about the age & school/gollege type of thing. Not pairing bullshit. Although I would say it's more about (in this case) Sony pushing the idea: as
said, it went through most ITSV fans & suspect them to push Miles in their dumpster fan of MCU branch.
Miles has maintained a solo much longer than Gwen has, and as a result has encountered a lot more potential love interests. There could also be an argument for purity bias when it comes to female characters, where Females are expected to have few, if any, romances.
I'm not the biggest Miles fan, but he has more going for him than spider-gwen.
Probably not besides a vague "She's slightly older than he is" but that's standard comic book fair.
>that's standard comic book fair.
Yeah, I guess... That's not the answer to the pic though.
She's been wearing that suit all day, no doubt with a large pool of sweat collecting around her ass. Do you really want to huff it Anon?

No, 4-5 years
she is.

don't you have a "MaryprostituteKek" to spam somewhere?

If Gwen Stacy really does come back from the dead (not a clone, not an alternate reality, not a time travelling alien android) then the Marvel 616 universe will have officially jumped the shark. The original Gwen is the only Spider-Man character, Marvel universe character in general who hasn't come back from the dead. To undo this would completely destroy what little is left sacred of the spider-man mythos.
Then again this is Disney. So what can I expect?
Id say that Uncle Ben would be that fundamentally, since he's been dead since day one.
But gwen would be a massive jumping the shark moment.
Uncle Ben was revived for like a page in a Strange book actually.
Sure, but that's like meeting characters in the afterlife, it doesnt really count.
>then the Marvel 616 universe will have officially jumped the shark.
It's way way way too late for that, one rando dead gf doesn't change anything
