This but unironically, black people is capable of great things when they have good mental health, when they don’t is when they do crimes

If it was spider india then yeah, there would be no point because indians are low IQ regardless of their mental health

unironically yes, mental health and the lack of mental healthcare is a big a problem that everybody loves to point out but nobody wants to fund.

The problem is that you can't solve the mental healthcare problem in america without first addressing the general healthcare problem, and there are is a trillion dollar industry making bank on robbing you at gunpoint any time you walk within 20 ft of a doctors office, and they are not shy about using a pittance of that to lobby the frick out of policymakers to ensure that their industry remains exactly where it is.
Seriously, the more you look at the american healthcare system and what actually drives costs for the patients and hospitals alike, the more you realize that insurance companies are completely evil. Its a scam, and we are all paying for it because they've rigged the system so we have no choice in the matter.

The cold dark reality nobody wants to face is that there is really no real way to address mental health. How do you treat a broken mind?

          Anonymous

Depends on the nature of the breakage. There are three general solutions:

The first is therapy. Not every mental health problem can be solved with counseling, but many of them can be managed with it. This is especially true for people dealing with stress, grief, or other environmental factors that have degraded their mental health. These can be serious and life ruining for people if they don't get help they need and spiral into other problems, so its worth treating. This is also where you are going to end up with for many people who are not so much 'broken' as 'different'. Like high functioning autists that have not figured their shit out yet and need help learning how to fake being a normal person enough to get through the day to day. You can't 'cure' them, but you can help them become a functional member of society.

The second is medication. If the problem is that your brain is fundamentally just out of whack, no amount of talk can help you. A chemical problem requires a chemical solution. This is obviously a kind of scattershot approach and it won't be satisfactory for everyone, but for a lot of people medication is the only hope they will ever have. SSRIs are dangerous but very strong and can be literal lifesavers for the people who need them.

The third and most extreme is oversight/living assistance/containment. The worst off people, the ones that literally cannot take care of themselves and never will, need what is basically a nursing home. Its not pretty, but we all know that some people fall into this category and we just don't have the medical science to help them right now. Keeping these people in a safe environment, isn't just good for them, its good for everyone else as well. Otherwise they just become crazy homeless people who either freeze on the streets or assault someone on the sidewalk in a frenzy. No one wants that outcome.

The way mental health stuff is handled is why I'm now thoroughly convinced that animation is indeed, only for children and manchildren. You can't have a person with issues, not even get violent but lash out in toxic ways.
A lot of the time, irl depressed people or people under extreme stress tend to dish out some of the most brutal insults you will ever see because they don't have the mental energy to hold back, the toxic behavior towards their friends and loved ones being a huge factor in why they spiral.
Also irl, getting better typically requires emotional support from loved ones but my god the characters in animated shit start the "road to healing" going 60mph after a bit of TLC, typically people who have nothing but that just enter a phase where they turn into emotional parasites constantly chasing external validation

I'd rather Miles get an anxiety attack trying to ask Bombshell out for a date. I don't believe he can get anxious after watching him effortlessly fly out at the end of the first spider-verse and there's no Peter B to comfort him. if he gets advice from his parents that would be something, but it's not the same as talking to another spider.

but hey it's sony, I don't expect them to know or care about the IPs they hoard.

Yes. Normies have been pretending to have mental illnesses for attention since long ago. Especially women. There was a lot less faking when doctors prescribed strapping them in bed, and cramming them full of vibrators. Once they switched over to Quaaluudes, incidence of mental illness massively spiked.

The cold dark reality nobody wants to face is that "mental health" isn't what is causing civil unrest, shit quality of life is.
If housing were cheap, promiscuity wasn't encouraged and americans weren't living in hopeless black ghettos living poor collecting welfare and eating frozen dinners, magically a lot of people would be a whole lot happier.
