Spongebob Pet Sitter Pat Retrospective

Really interesting and reflective stuff. I like what he had to say about his Pet Sitter Pat review and the mindset he and many others had at the time about insulting writers.

I hope to see him make consistently good videos and gain some popularity back. It was really sad to see him lamant about how he was the most popular he's ever been when making his worst content.

He already went through one when he apologized in 2015 for all his old writers attacks, and from 2016-2019 he made consistently great content, ceased the personal attacks, and greatly improved thr editing. Sadly, his Nick-o-rama stuff and his 2020-2021 issues then caused more serious issues, as he explained in his two most recent vids.

Possibly. He did this same song and dance before so hopefully he'll stay on the right path.

why wasn't Mr. Enter arrested for his 2014 review
didn't help at the time he did that review GamerGate was also happening

because it constituted nothing even close to a crime. All he did was show tweets and insult the writer for them. It was very wrong on his part and it lead to other people harrassing the writer, but Mr. Enter himself did no harrassing or threatening.

Dang, he ripped himself a new butthole over number 3 slot (his original Rocket Monkeys "review" which was just 10 minutes of complaining about requests)

I mean he's self aware now and trying to be a better person. I don't know what else people would want? His videos still stuck but at least he's not an awful person (anymore)

I don't feel like watching a 40 minute video of him apologizing for how he used to have a genuine personality and was naturally funny instead of throwing everything that made him interesting away to appeal to the masses who look down on him. Hopefully now that he's dedicated an entire video to that he'll stop shoehorning it into other videos, but I doubt it.

He wasn't funny and he still isn't, but he's at least attempting to make videos with more care and try to be entertaining. Rather than screaming at cartoons about how stuff wouldn't work in real life.

Hearing a guy screaming about Spongebob while taking it way more seriously than intended is far more entertaining than him just sharing opinions and observations that you can get from anyone else. Sometimes he does put in a lot of care to his videos, but other times he phones it in and makes videos that have no more meaningful commentary than his older videos, but without the personality that made them worth watching. Few videos that he's released in the past several years stack up to his old videos, and one of his best recent videos (the AVGN one, which took a lot more work to make than his usual content) got less views than the videos he puts practically no effort into, so he's unlikely to ever make a video like that again.

He didn't apologize for that stuff. I'll recap what he actually apologized for:

His shit Rise of TMMT review, him bizzarely ranting about Postmodernism in the 12 Oz Mouse review, his poorly made and overly angry Patrick's a Prick list, shitty editing, him handling Growing Around badly, the Turning Red 9/11 take, him getting offended for Canadians, spending a "review complaining about requests, attacking writers (specifically the Pet Sitter Pat incident), and him spending so much time making angry videos about covid19.

The Turning Red 9/11 thing was reminiscent of his old style, making a bizarre complaint that no other reviewers were making, and the backlash against it has ensured that he'll never say anything that daring again.

          >the AVGN one, which took a lot more work to make than his usual content

It was heartbreaking that video got so few views, it's one of the best vids he has ever need, he was clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about the subject.

I think the last Mr. Enter that had this charm was his Light's Out review. And I actually thought it was a good review outside of Star Giant's shit editing. And as he said, he only made that type of extremely angry review again because he just wanted something to yell at when he was down bad during covid (he said the summer of 2020 was the most depressed he's ever been)

I still genuinely think his views plummeted because he started using those weird rantsona puppets. His OG videos kind of reminded me of Ralphthemoviemaker and AVGN in the way that they were all just these jaded guys tired of their favorite media being flooded with trash that would just relentlessly mock and tear into it. No half hearted excuses to try softening the blows or trying to deflect blame from the staff that made it, just point blank "this shit is obnoxious trash" on full blast. And then he busted out those weird rantsona puppets that spastically flail everywhere and started going on about how shit's mean spirited or whatever. Felt like he lost a lot of his bite when he shifted over towards trying to attack the episodes tones or ideologies.

      >started going on about how shit's mean spirited
Huh? This is something early Mr. Enter did all the time, his usage of it was a huge factor in the word being overused in the cartoon community to the point where it lost all meaning. This is something Enter complained about as early as his MLP reviews (with episodes such as Putting Your Hoof Down). How this is an issue LATER Mr. Enter developed?!

I agree that people liked how angry and passionate he was in the old reviews and views dropped after he stopped doing that (even though the later content was of much higher quality). I don't think the avatar has anything to do with that though, it's not like those hurt the videos at all. It just gives something to look at other than the actual cartoon being reviewed. It's not like the shit editing was the reason people watched old Mr. Enter, they watched him in spite of that

He really just needs a consistent upload schedule and some good clickbait. how do you people feel about his video plans for this year?
