I was certainly sick and tired of all those Star Wars I called Legacy gay when it came out and read the comics last year and it's better than anything else put out and no poz
Legacy was decent but Cade was too edgelord for me. Yeah I get tortured past and all but it was like some 90's leftover. Though the scene with Luke's ghost chiding him and Cade basically saying "frick off or I'm killing myself" was good.

You missed the far superior version of Rey and Kylo in Jacen and Jaina. People b***hed about it at the time but it's still far superior to anything disney.
The Young Jedi Knights books were probably the closest to how a sequel trilogy should have actually been handled. Like the OT cast was there in the background, still doing important things, but they weren't the main characters, the Empire was a shadow of itself, but still felt threatening like it could return at any point. Just do three movies on the Second Imperium and the Shadow Academy
New Jedi Order felt like it brought some real stakes to the series with how they were killing off established characters, but I felt like it went on way too long, like 19 fricking books is too much.
That was the biggest problem the EU had, they kept turning what would be great book trilogies into 6-9-12 book series with tons of unnecessary padding and filler.
On the whole EU front I think the big interconnected nature of everything started to hurt it after a while the same way it's hurting Marvel and Disney now. New Jedi Order basically came in with the goal of tying like 20 years of various characters and plots together.
Also they treated Boba Fett like Batman, he always had some ridiculous preptime bullshit, I remember one book he got captured by hutts and he revealed that he hid a power cell for his friend's gun in their space station like five years ago just in case, it was like that one copypasta about Sherlock.
I hated the bondage edgelord pain aliens immune to everything, that's the only reason they won, plot armor for 2/3s of the series, and then some cop out ending
