Serious question, when this meme even came from? Cause I doubt they actually came up with it.
Who actually said that and why do people still believe in it? Do they really hate George Lucas that much?

They probably heard it at some convention, or on a Star Wars fan website, or in a magazine.
Before social media, the Star Wars fandom would meet up in person, talk on fan message boards, and of course go to conventions.
The idea probably originated and spread via one of those forums.
All of this would have been insulated from normies, so normies would never have heard of the idea until something like the Plinkete reviews came along.

Feminist redditors, editing isn’t done by one person either. Only morons think Lucas didn’t have a hand in editing or allocated the placement of scenes. At the end of the day, he’s the one that created Star Wars. The story these butthurt manchildren complain about being ruined by him was still his creation

Serious question, when this meme even came from? Cause I doubt they actually came up with it.
Who actually said that and why do people still believe in it? Do they really hate George Lucas that much?

      >Feminist redditors, editing isn’t done by one person either.

Marcia had an affair with a studio employee while he was out shooting. She's no saint and not the only editor in the secret sauce of A New Hope.

Lucas was considered to be a creative genius up until TPM was released. It disappointed many people, but certain butthurt fanboys took it personally for some reason. Instead of simply conceding that Lucas lost his touch as a director in the 20 year gap between Jedi and Menace, they decided that he was never good to begin with and started crediting everybody except him for the success of the original trilogy.
A New Hope? Only good because of the editors. Never mind that it was Lucas himself who saw that the workprint had narrative issues and brought in new editors to fix it, which is a normal part of the filmmaking process, professional Lucas-haters literally believe that a crack group of elite editors took Star Wars away from him and made their own version of the movie that got released in theaters.
Empire and Jedi? Only good because of Lawrence Kasdan, who for some reason the RLM types believe wrote those movies himself when he was actually brought onto Empire for a last-minute punch-up after it had been written by Leigh Brackett and George Lucas, and co-wrote Jedi with Lucas and a couple other writers who were uncredited. Well, that theory was proven as BS when Kasdan's input didn't do TFA any favors.
These people have no idea how movies are made. They think that writer-directors do one draft of a script that gets made as-is, and if that doesn't work, someone else steps in to "save" it. They point out how Lucas originally wanted Han Solo to be a green reptilian-humanoid as proof that he never knew what he was doing, apparently not understanding what the word development means. Nobody denies that it took a ton of talented people to make Star Wars what it is, but at the end of the day special credit has to be given to the conductor of the orchestra, not just the individual musicians.

      >Lucas was considered to be a creative genius up until TPM was released

Prequels can be bad and technical marvels pushing Film and VFX forward to current day standards at the same time.

"original cut" was garbage but was never intended to be anything more than a temporary cut. it was a case where the first editor half-assed his job and left the movie behind schedule because none of it was useable. the re-edit did save star wars and marcia did significantly assist but feminists and liberals erase hirsch and chew who did the majority of the grunt work in favor of her for propaganda reasons.
