Was it good?
>shitty namefag no one cares about
What is James doing these days
>Animated James thread
>Animated James thread
James was fucking based, he was making comics, music, and animations by himself on a semi-decent schedule for years. I fucking wish I could do what he did, his work ethic was amazing.
I wish he'd never been a brony, man. He should have never gotten mixed up in all their homosexualry, then he'd still be around.
God do i miss him so much.
I heard he made another YouTube channel but then quit when people found out it was him
He's lost it
Well did she?
Thats not even him you idiot.
A few months ago, he came out with a massive apology to everyone he's ever known for his behavior a decade prior.
He literally quit social media and deleted all of his artwork and accounts, apologized for his behaviour over the years and promised to work on being a better person and logged off seemingly for good.
That was almost 4 yrs ago.
it's too bad that even when artists like this try and resurface under a new name and style you get hypervigilant asperger detectives that feel the need to expose them. I still haven't fully analyzed that instinct, when I've had that sort of hunch I get the feeling of "ooh, easter egg" I guess for finding a Waldo no one was even aware was hidden
Yes, it's a masterpiece
Yes as porn material.
No. It wasn't bad at first, but it eventually collapsed in on itself and went full retard sjw and removed anything remotely cool about the show. Fuck SU.
Season 1 is the only good one, and the Jasper arc around season 3 was the peak, fuck the rest
Fuck no. It STARTED good then completely botched all of the things people actually liked and became a comical dumpster fire. It has some damned good episodes and even a decent movie but overall it wound up being awful as a whole.
Yeah, season one really showed a lot of promise, but they didn't really expand on the stuff that made the show cool (i.e., the whole "magical girl/space opera" vibe). Instead they leaned really heavily into slice of life stuff, which wouldn't *necessarily* have been a bad thing if the townies weren't so one-note and boring to deal with. Then on the occasions where the show finally remembered it was supposed to be about magic space rocks fighting an evil empire, it just wound up being really half-baked and disappointing.
I think the show would've come out better if the townies had been integrated into the plot involving the Gems and monsters more often. Maybe capitalize on Steven being a hybrid and have him fuse with humans other than Connie. Of course that only solves one of the show's problems, but all the meandering around and pointless melodrama is a big part of why I dropped the show when I did.
I definitely have very fond memories of S1 and early S2, though. I remember the season one finale and beginning of season two had me extremely hyped for what the series would become, but then it just never really manifested.
If the Townes has to permanently evacuate the hub of invasions and we got occasional visits rather than "doughnut shop emplyee number 2 sings now" it would have been kino. Rewatching the Jailbreak Bomb was like rediscovering photos of a long dead pet. "Your mom did awful things, the gems are aliens, and I always felt like rose was trying to apologize for something! But now you're here, Rose looked out for her people now you need to do the same" is where the show peaked. I get that having someone for Steven to fight for is good but how many times did we need to see some radish paint gems?
The shows health hinges on Jasper. Legitimately cruel taunts are her first lines, and her second lines are miserable laments that she was a part of the first war, that she lost a lot and is still hurting. She was made by Rose specifically to fight Rose, transfered to being a personal bodyguard for PD's big sister. She had so many legitimately interesting perspectives she could have feed the show. Instead, she just falls into a hole for two seasons, rears her head twice, loredumps a TON of interesting things "My diamond, [Rose Quartz's] diamond! I failed Pink Diamond!"
And then next time we see her is the literal last scene of the show.
>all that anger and rage is instantly overcome because Yellow shot her a death stare that you could have easily missed
Those 1.5 seconds/36 frames encapsulated everything wrong with Steven Universe.
sex with tired peridot
S1 is the last good original animated season in western Canon. Season 2 asked the right questions about what next. And then the series collapsed, but no one says all Superman movies stink because of some late duds. 7/10 overall series, peaked very early.
Future is flat out the second best season of the show. It's the only one besides the first that's well paced and has each episode move the plot forward. It's also the only season that wraps up everything it sets up, even if a lot of anons that post here don't like the conclusions they reached.
Future suffered by being Season 6 in a 5 seasons and a movie show. Carve out vast swaths of S3/4/5, figure out you have a dyke shitter in the writing room before half your episodes are "what if women being gay in nature", and Future is a shining victory lap instead of the "we've got time for another half hour" it was. S
1: what are gems
S2: oh mom was a war criminal hey look Peridot and Malachite
S3: cluster, Jasper, Earth and the moon, end on pink diamond zoo
S4: Steven is grown up, fusions, trial, pink diamond and the diamonds
I know this is a bait thread, but I always thought the first season was really fun.
3 good seasons and a movie (S1, S2, Future)
3 seasons of not awful but lots of pointless fucking around that ruins the momentum with a rushed conclusion (S3, S4, S5)
So it depends. High highs and low lows.
Future sucked ass, what are saying?
Why'd it suck ass, genius? Because Steven became a vegan, right? The story was told fine, you just didn't like the story. Unlike the rest of the show where the storytelling was paced like garbage.
No it sucked because Sugar let "muh mental health" tards write the episodes and we got a weird-ass retcon heavy season as the result.
>story was told fine
Lol they went with this retarded "Is Jasper good now?" sub plot which was abandoned then retrod then abandoned again because Steven needed to turn into a kaiju quickly. The whole Steven PTSD plot but suddenly at the end he cries and all is well because he decides to get therapy.
They could have intertwined the Jasper sub plot with Steven's PTSD plot and have them become co-dependent or something. Jasper needs someone to follow and Steven needs someone to fix - they both slowly come to realise this is unhealthy and eventually Steven realises he needs therapy and Jasper realises she needs to visit Little Homeworld so she can learn to stand on her own. There were many interesting plot threads dangled in front of us but instead they included a lot of silly stuff. Also Blue Diamond's solo song fucking sucked. Fuck you, Sugar.
Pearl knows how to rip ass due to practice but her farts have nice flowery fragrances
I believe it
I am open to other theories
The sex with his dad was so amazing it turned pearl straight.
>Was it good?
If you believe it was good.
Yeah. And im not saying that because i have an unhealthy obsession with pearl
Sorry, Pearl. Can't fart if you don't eat
She does eat. Her favorite food is pie.
I WANT TO SEE PEARL SHIT HERSELF
I want this with Amethyst.
He drew one of Amy's fat ass farting on a sleeping Steven but I'd get banned if I posted it.
🙁 well time to do some sleuthing.
it really wasn’t, and as a gay I really fucking hate it being associated with the culture.
But i grew up lower middle class in the country so its not like i can relate to modern metropolitan gay culture anyway.
The writing is shallow and the lore is equally shallow trash.
To echo what several anons itt have said, S1 and S2 were great! S3 had promise, but by that point the cracks in Sugar's management style started to show. The lunatics started running the asylum and boarders replaced writers. From there it was a slow decent into Crying Dykes: The Show. It is a damn shame too, since the premise was solid and you absolutely could have gotten the original message across without 2.5 seasons of trash. Future was fine conceptually, but had to go along with the canon dumpster fire. SU remains in my heart in the same spot as other shows that wasted their own potential.
I hold firm in my belief that Ian JQ leaving to do his own show caused things to go downhill.
I liked the Peace and Love song.
Not enough Peridot.
i think the worldbuilding had really good potential but sugar is a whore and fucked it up
>Was it good?
Yes, up until the story moved to homeworld. It went through the drain at that point. Future just played with the corpse.
>Was it good?
god i wish it was
>biggest theory within the fandom was rose quartz being pink diamond
This is my take on things. Could be wrong, though.
It was good and then it became mediocre. Those roundtable cartoon youtubers killed it for me though. Remember when Awestruck Vox bullied a Make a Wish cancer kid for being able to see some episodes early and then ultimately apologized to Vox because the crewniverse were eating him alive and that one broad who made pearl's secret rap career couldn't save him?
At least it gave us some Pearlven stuff.
