The EU was made up of several different continuities that autistic fans forced to fit together. They could not accept that most of it didn't fit, and the writers would do the most convoluted shit to explain away the discrepancies.

For starters, the Jude Watson books were definitely its own thing and could not fit with other works. Dooku had a different master in them, even though Yoda was stated to be his master in AotC. Watson even wrote some books that took place between ANH and ESB, but contradicted the Marvel run and the Newspaper Strips.

There is no corporate scenario. Lucas had it in his contract for ANH that he'd get all of the rights afterwards. FOX did nothing because they didn't believe the movie would be a hit. Surprise, surprise, it was and Lucas won big. He's at the top of everything. Everyone answered to him and him only. He answered to no one.

He made Grievous cool under Lucas' orders. Thing is, Lucas changed his mind and it was already too late for the cartoon. Mace crushing Grievous' chest was the fix to make sense of the discrepancy.

The stormtroopers only get defeated in a silly way in the third movie. In the first, they are told specifically to lose and let the Falcon escape so they can track them to the Rebel base. In the second movie, they absolutely wreck the Rebels faces and destroy their base. Even in the third movie, they had won and captured the rebel strike team at first until the Ewoks appeared. You fools just never pay attention and believe the dumbass memes about 'them not hitting anything' without even thinking about it
most of the base escaped, luke even managed to grab an x-wing after destroying an at-at in the middle of a snow desert
