I don't know about comics, but has this archetype ever actually existed in cartoons? Especially since the majority of cartoons are comedic, white male mcs have always been stupid, meek, or incompetent just because that sort of archetype brings in comedic potential. Even a "chad" character like Johnny Bravo is portrayed as dumb and constantly rejected by the women he pursues. So it's weird to see people act like cartoons used to be this bastion of strong white male role models up until the 2010s when that was never really common to begin with.
well theres plenty of white male characters who HAPPEN to be strong, but i dont think the show ever calls attention to them being white or male
that was never really needed because it the era before the demand for diversity, he wouldve been just... a guy... his race or gender unimportant

Ten years ago, I was in high school trying to get my first job so I went to a bunch of fast food places to ask for an application. Starbucks, McDonalds, Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shops, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen, Dunkin Donuts.
Every single one of them directed me to their website where I could apply online. Starbucks was the only one who gave me a specific URL in order to apply online for that specific store. I imagine just being able to screen out people like that has gotten worse and more prevalent for everything that isn't a tiny mom n' pop shop.
