I have a hotter take. I know full well Allred's catalog and cannot stand it. I just do not get why he is so beloved, his style does nothing for me. The closest I've ever found it to be palatable was his Surfer run where the style almost worked in the cosmic setting. Maybe it would work best in a Dr Strange run? But in general I don't see the appeal and really don't see it being a good fit for Supes. Now, I'll go frick myself and leave you all be.

IIRC the Superman and Authority book was intended to be a Future State book but when that event kinda fizzled they elected to publish it in the mainstream continuity and just ignore the awkward storyline disjunction.
