>Superman goes to the past to see a historical figure do something

>Superman takes a medical exam
How did superman ever stayed on top? 90% of his stories are just dull, and not even mature dull with something to ponder but just dull. Batman solved crimes, marvel pumped out new hot stuff in the 60s and meanwhile superman has a flu

    *How did superman ever stay
The auxiliary verb (did) is marked for the past tense, the main verb is not. It is in its base form. When there is an auxiliary verb, the main verb does not need to be marked for tense, the tense is shown in the auxiliary.

Thanks for the correction, didn't know that.

Gee it’s almost as if people have different tastes and enjoyed Superman’s adventures

I like Superman as a character but where are the adventures? It seems like silver age DC was still in the 40s while Marvel made new stuff.

A great story isnt dictated by giant feats, but by execution. Like when Spider-Man went out for a beer with Wolverine for his birthday

I'm immature and like giant feats more, but a good more down to earth story is fine here and there but Superman hasn't done anything but menial jobs.

huh? have you ever read silver age superman? here's a random plot for you
        >superman gets infected by red kryptonite, which affects him differently every time
        >this red kryptonite was sent by two shapeshifting aliens, planning on using it to incapacitate him
        >however, this time the red kryptonite infects him in positive ways instead of negative ways
        >he discovers this when he wishes he had a detective could figure out what the red kryptonite was doing to him, causing Sherlock Holmes to appear. Sherlock Holmes deduced that the red kryponite had given Superman the ability to grant his own wishes
        >Superman then wishes his parents were there, causing both Jor-El, Lara, Johnathan Kent, and Martha Kent to appear. They finally meet for the first time
        >Jor-El figures out a way to end the effects of kryptonite. Unfortunately, this causes Superman's four parents and Sherlock Holmes to disappear, as they only appeared due to the red kryponite
        >Superman flies off to look for the alien shapeshifters
        >he realizes the red kryptonite is actually still effecting him, but instead of granting his wishes, it now makes him read minds
        >he is invited to meet JFK and Nikita Kruschev
        >he then violently attacks them, and reveals them to be the shapeshifting aliens
        >as the aliens are taken into custody, Superman thinks about how he wouldn't have been able to catch him if they hadn't affected him with red kryptonite in the first place

here's another random plot. I swear, there is no way you have ever read a silver age Superman comic if you think OP is telling the truth
          >in the beginning of a story, Lois gets in a mild fender bender in her car, but doesn't go to the hospital over it
          >Later, while Clark Kent is changing into Superman, Lois Lane snaps a picture of him. She threatens to reveal his identity if he doesn't marry her
          >Superman is sad, as he thought she would marry him for love, but agrees to go through with it to protect his identity
          >he carries Lois to the Fortress of Solitude so she can tour her new home
          >she gets curious when she sees Superman has a youth serum in a bottle, and sprays herself with it, as she believes this is the key to his good looks
          >the spray actually causes her to age in reverse at incredible speed, becoming a teenage girl
          >she realizes Superman only took her to the Fortress because he knew she'd be curious about the youth spray, and if she gets too young Superman wouldn't legally be able to marry her
          >angry, she sprays Superman with the spray, causing him to also age backwards
          >she demands he fly her to a marriage clerk, but the clerk won't give them a license to marry because he believes they are too young
          >she has Superman fly them out to sea so they can be married by a ship captain in international waters, but Superman causes a typhoon with his super breath to prevent the ceremony
          >the whole time this is happening, they keep getting younger and younger

            Anonymous

            >she has Superman fly her to a blind justice of the peace, believing he will marry them because he won't see how young they are, so Superman cures his blindness. When he sees they're only little kids, he kicks them out
            >finally Lois manages to get a marriage license and a minister and a ceremony going, but by this time Lois and Superman are literal babies pushed in strollers. During the vows, they are unable to say "I do," and the wedding is off
            >the next day, the youth serum wears off. A doctor catches up with Lois, and tells her she hit her head in the car accident in the beginning of the story. This caused a personality change in her, which is why she was trying to blackmail Superman into marrying him. Once cured, she is back to her old self, not knowing Superman's identity either, though hoping still they will marry someday.

That still doesn't sound that exciting

The point is silver age Superman stories are what a meth head writes when he tries crack.

I need stuff to fuel my power fantasies, reading about solving day to day problems isn't all that great.

I have read them and those posted plots are the other kind of crap I don't care about. Frick me, the guy is the strongest there is and the plot is that Lois Lane screws something up and high jinks happen till it all works out. What the frick does it have to do with superman god dammit, it could be some guy named Greg with the same plot.

I think people who grew up with Marvel comics really have a hard time reading older silver age dc comics (especially Superman). Its basically in a totally different language to them since its removed from the marvel style.
At most they get "haha this is so dumb...its funny" type of reddit reaction to it.

It's just very depressing when Superman is the perfect character for fantasies, but you can't read him do anything. On the other hand there are bunch of action and villainous deeds going on with some character who's the most boring ass shit with no desirable qualities

Probably should just read marvel comics. Superman generally doesn't do those kind of stories
Lots of people (especially kids) liked Superman's style , its why he had a bunch of books at the peak of his popularity. When DC hired marvel drones to write Superman he became less and less popular.
