      >Who's Anakin's father?
He didn't have a biological father, but his "creator" was Darth Plagueis, who manipulated midichlorians by Force and planted them in Shmi Skywalker's womb. At least in Episode III, this is strongly implied, and it makes the most sense, because in this way Palpatine not only kills Plagueis, his master, but also manages to put Plagueis' creation, Anakin, under his will.

One of my kids wanted me to buy him a toy from one of these new shitty woke shows they do and I just completely lost the plot. There's no way I'm letting some plastic bisexual toy into my house and no son of mine will think it's acceptable to ask for it either.

You're right. In my opinion, only the Star Wars original trilogy films and the Star Wars prequel trilogy films are canon. The Star Wars galaxy is vast, containing countless worlds and countless beings. Even so, Star Wars in my eyes is ultimately the story of one man, one human, from that vast galaxy - Anakin Skywalker. Star Wars is the story of the life of Anakin Skywalker - his rise, his fall and his redemption. Star Wars is one film divided into six parts and, in my opinion, it is the greatest film of all time. Star Wars is one story divided into six episodes and, in my opinion, it is the most ambitious story ever put to film. Love doomed Anakin in the prequel trilogy and love saved Anakin in the original trilogy. The central message of Star Wars (if there is indeed any message) is that love conquers all - even the stars themselves. Star Wars teaches us that nobody is beyond redemption, not even Anakin Skywalker. We're all gonna make it, bros. And that's pure kino.

      >kek the prequels suck just as much as the Disney sequels.
And Episodes V and VI of the OT suck almost as much as the prequels. The only good SW movie was Star Wars (1977) (later renamed Episode IV - A New Hope), everything after that was shit reusing the same tropes over and over again (a token Black character, an old and wise Jedi Master in a frog's body, "I am your father", "You have a twin sister, Luke, it's Leia", a second Death Star, etc.). This shit was inconsistent from the very beginning, the dialogues were crappy even then, and this whole "from a certain point of view" nonsense is the main reason why we have shit like The Acolyte now, because when everything can be interpreted "from a certain point of view", nothing is truly meaningful, you can create a story where the Jedi are evil and the Sith are good, and "from a certain point of view" it will be as canon as everything else these days.

          >I've seen some schizo nonsense on this board before but blaming a bad tv show on a throwaway line of dialogue from 40 years ago might take the cake
If it weren't for that line, which wasn't just a line, but reflected the director's entire attitude towards his own movies ("nothing is permanent, and even if I made something true in one movie, I might change my mind later and explain it somehow in hindsight"), we wouldn't be in the situation we're in now, where "the Force is female," where Anakin didn't really save anyone or anything, and the universe was saved by Rey, Palpatine's granddaughter, and everything like that. Oh, and Maul somehow survives being cut in half, while Qui-Gon dies from a slight scratch in his abdomen, yeah, totally believable, thanks, George, very cool. First it was "Luke, Darth Vader killed your father, though I'm sorry I didn't tell you the whole truth, that's just my point of view, he actually is your father and he only killed your father metaphorically", then it was "Luke, you have a twin sister and it's Leia, isn't it convenient that you saved her in the first movie and only found out about your parentage in the third?", then it was TPM which introduced us to Sith (instead of the Dark Side, as they were known in the OT), then it's the midichlorians instead of the Force, and so on. It's even worse then when comic books constantly retcon characters' origins, at least there it can be explained somehow: alternate universes, time travel etc. In Star Wars, nothing. Just trust Lucas, he's a genius, he knows it better.

I hate most Disney slop but Rogue One is a worthy addition to the saga as a fun side story

Yep, Rogue One is good (although CGI Tarkin and Leia looked terrible), but it spawned the whole Andor saga, and that's not what Star Wars fans wanted. The series itself may be not that bad, just a bit slow and boring sometimes, but it has nothing to do with Star Wars as a franchise.
