HOW DID SHE CHANGE THE CHANNEL?! SHE'S JUST A CARTOON CHARACTER?!
Clearly It was buttons like always.
No it wasn't!
Why? her shorts are only like 2-3 minutes long
Cause it's fricking trash
Buttons is an angel and they don't deserve him
Should have made her a sexy adult instead.
Little girls are the hardest demographic to watch by anyone that isn't one themselves. Name one show about a girl under the age of 8 that's actually watchable.
>that one episode she was a barefoot cave girl
have a nice day.
Ok. I luv you byebye!
The animation purists who hated Animaniacs for using writers who can't draw were probably right about this one series. The other series were more dialogue-based and this one really needed great visual gags, which for whatever reason this almost never had.
I did like the bit where Buttons is chasing Mindy across a construction site and we see cameos from the other characters who have done this bit already (Tom & Jerry, Popeye)
Nah the real stinkers are the Rita ones where they try to do a Disney, Animaniacs makes a few heartwarming moments work, but Rita is involved in none of them. Buttons and Mindy is pretty mid tier but it's at least better than that, it's at the very least the setting for that one christmas wrapping paper short.
What's wrong with rita
Bad songs, sappy, unfunny
I liked the Dr. Frankenstein one and the Les Miserables tribute (maybe not a coincidence, both had TMS animation, but also better scripts than usual).
Other cartoons, yeah, they weren't that funny and would grind to a halt to let Bernadette Peters sing (and let the writers get royalties, which they got from writing songs but not scripts)
The Les Miserables short is one of the ones I had in mind, it's soooo fricking boring.
I like it, but again, maybe I'm being carried away by the spectacular animation.
The one where they're in WWII Poland and helping a girl escape the Nazis on the other hand... boring, fake-Disney and taking on a subject even a drama show for kids couldn't handle let alone a comedy.
Rita & Runt were pretty much designed to be Emmy bait. The writers wisely dropped them later on in the run, bringing them back only for Wakko's Wish.
The writers "wisely" dropped most of the segments in latter seasons, yet they kept the stupid mindy shit
>unfunny
I thought they were trying to be depressing
>Everyone apparently hates Chicken Boo
Frick you all, I like it.
Literally no one hates Chicken Boo, the reboot is just written by out of touch morons.
I always hated those shorts, like I get what they're trying for but it doesn't work. Like cartoon cruelty can work but it didn't work with Buttons and Mindy. The difference between it and something like Tom and Jerry is that Tom and Jerry are jerks, Tom is actively trying to kill Jerry and Jerry is an intruder, neither are good people so them getting hurt doesn't bother me. All Buttons does is try and save a young girls life and gets punished for it, like why would I find that funny.
There's an old Looney Tunes skit like that, where the cat is trying to be a good pet and the dog is the butthole who keeps stealing steaks and shit and the cat gets blamed by the owner.
It ends with the dog getting a parade in his honor while the cat is having a freakout like she's yosemite sam having an anger fit and it's the first time she's acted like that the whole short
It didn't land for me at all. Buttons and Mindy works a little better for me, I think because BOTH parties are innocents, but its still pretty mid among Warner chase stuff.
Yeah, honestly I think this kind of setup doesn't really work. Like the fact that you didn't even give the name of the short says alot honestly.
