Sylvester Stallone is a retired superhero in Amazon's SAMARITAN

>Troubled teenager Sam Cleary (Javon "Wanna" Walton) discovers that his mysterious and reclusive neighbor Joe Smith (Sylvester Stallone) is actually Granite City's legendary superpowered vigilante, Samaritan. Twenty years ago, Samaritan was reported dead after a fiery warehouse battle with his rival, Nemesis. Most believe Samaritan perished in the fire, but some in the city, like Sam, have hope that he is still alive. With crime on the rise and the city on the brink of chaos, Sam makes it his mission to coax Joe out of hiding and get him to embrace his powers once again to save the city from ruin.

Why can't actors end their careers with dignity?

Actors inherently want attention, and to some it's actually more important than their reputation to the craft.

I think it's fun that "Samaritan" has a positive connotation in Christendom when the story of the "Good Samaritan" was Jesus explaining to his fellow israelites that it was possible for a Samaritan to be a better person than a israelite (jews had him killed for this).
