Taika forgot Natalie Portman was in the prequels and asked her to be in his Star Wars movie

>"Natalie said to me, what do you do next? And I said 'I'm trying to work on a Star Wars thing," he concluded. "Have you ever wanted to be in a Star Wars movie?' She said, 'I've been in Star Wars movies,' I forgot about those ones."

Lucky. Most people who saw the prequels wish they could forget them too.

But Hollywood forces us to keep watching that piece of plywood, even though everyone wants to forget and throw out Hershlag.

Nah, most people liked them at the time. Manchildren and nerds hated them because they weren’t remakes, like the sequels.

I'm from that time. While we shitted on them, we still loved them. If a prequel movie comes on while flipping through the channels, I'd probably watch it. Can't say that about the ST.

I was a kid when they came out. We liked them. They spawned tons of fun video games and toys. We liked those too. Yeah Jar Jar sucked but so did C3P0 and the Ewoks. Nobody cares.

And this is how I know you weren’t alive or were too young to remember them being released.
RotS was the only one with any real word of mouth hype, I and II were constantly made fun of and shit on both by my irl friends and by contemporary reviewers/media at large.
Maybe you were old enough to have seen them in theaters and you went with your special ed class who I’m sure all loved the flashing lights and amazing dialogue, so I can understand how you have a different perspective in that case.

The sequels did well at the box office too and they were hot garbage (somehow worse than the prequels).
You obviously weren’t old enough to form memories at the time, I was a child when they were released and saw each one in theaters because my dad was a huge Star Wars nerd, I remember making fun of them with my friends and thinking they sucked which is not easy to do with an otherwise undiscerning kid.

I want to believe that you're being sincere when you post this and that we've really regressed this far, but I know that you were alive when they came out, that you know they were universally shat on, and that you're using that knowledge to bait.

here's the thing: it was both
manchilds hated them but kids liked them and then grew to love Star Wars in general thanks to discovering the OT and all the vidya that came out since.
I watched the whole OT in a week thanks to reruns previous to TPM release, that is what sold me on Star Wars and at the time the prequels looked like the most epic shit ever. Then I grew up and saw them for what they were.
