I dunno. I think it makes sense that Leonardo and Raphael would be bigger since they take their training more seriously than Michelangelo and Donatello.

They are meant to be similar builds. I need to find the Laird article where he says he kept them from diverging too much on the TMNT builds in adaptations- with the Kids WB pitch being the most he was OK with.
Basically the idea was that having them all have similar builds shows that, despite their own particular interests, they're all still heavily dedicated to their training. Now since the Viacom buyout they like the idea that Donnie and Mikey like to slack off and Raph goes extra hard. Arguably it sort of misses the point of raph's anger being from him being sort of runty
What if Raph was shorter but more muscular than his brothers?
I wouldn't mind it, though I don't mind Raph being a little bigger either as long as he's still smaller than your average human adult man.
Have Raphael be built like Wolverine or Mike Tyson. Shorter yet denser muscle wise with a lot of power in his strikes

Idk but it's annoying as someone who likes him. I don't mind just a bit bigger, but now it's just moronic.

It's their thing now. Leo is the middleweight, Raph is the big dumb muscle, Donnie is the scrawny nerd in glasses, and Mikey is the little kid and shorter than everyone else.

That's just character design 101, the physically strong one is bigger. Toph is an exception played for surprise factor.
