Anon you can make your own rules, the important thing is you need to stay consistent to them for the whole movie/tv series/book/whatever.
The usual, default, rules are the physics theories most known (es granpa paradox, the bootstrap paradox ecc) which is how our universe work according to physics. If you cant stay coherent within the rules, or your made up rules you have made for your movie/whatever, then you're probably a writer on strike right now.

Shh you're waking the beasts.
But its true. T2 is quite shit.
It's not that great a movie, but compared to the later movies and most modern Hollywood trash, it's actually decent. >Kristanna Loken's TX is a good villain. Not great like Arnie and the T-1000 were (she lacks any mystery), but she's menacing and memorable. >some good action sequences >Arnold turning evil again is an interesting twist and results in a pretty powerful scene where he shuts himself down >ending is powerful and a tearjerker
The T-X somehow infecting completely mechanical cars with a computer virus and driving them is still technically a plothole, but now that most cars DO have computers in them, it actually seems kinda forward-thinking.
The "No Fate" thing turning out to be BS is still lame, as are some of Arnold's one-liners, but I'd say T3 has aged better than most throwaway sequels.
Sarah Connor Chronicles is an alt timeline to T3 and serves as a nice replacement. In the show there is an event that changes the future that a character came from, time shenanigans.
The show isn't trapped by power creep. Most of the show is the main plot but true to form, there is some filler before its cancellation.
I haven't watched dark fate but I know about the Rev-9. That thing was stupid because of power creep. Its new power of splitting in two was dumb. And of course it's le stronger and le deadlier. Dark Fate is truly a disrespectful movie
Loken's TX is a good villain. Not great like Arnie and the T-1000 were (she lacks any mystery), but she's menacing and memorable.
Robert Patrick was one of the greatest villains ever in T2. Modelling his look after birds of prey and getting fit so he didn't sweat.
>The T-X somehow infecting completely mechanical cars with a computer virus and driving them is still technically a plothole
Computers have been controlling the engine, brakes, and a host of other systems since the 1980s. Sure they've gotten more complex since then, but there were probably 50-70 computers in an average consumer car when T3 came out.
Pictured is an engine control module for a 93 Camry. I had to dig one out of a junkyard vehicle to replace the one on mine when it went bad.
>The "No Fate" thing turning out to be BS is still lame,
Terminator 1 was a fixed time loop where Skynet is created as a direct consequence of the Terminator coming back through time and Jim deleted the happy ending of T2 because he felt leaving the characters to an uncertain future was better. It's arguable if "No fate but what we make for ourselves" was ever actually real and not just a cope - John Connor himself knew that Kyle was destined to be his father and sent him back in time in fulfillment of his fate
>The T-X somehow infecting completely mechanical cars with a computer virus
all they had to do was show some of the liquid metal coming off her and wrapping around the steering wheel and pedals. She can still control bits of herself at a distance.
but they had no vision.
They could expand the idea and have a more believable 'maximum overdrive' situation
>The "No Fate" thing turning out to be BS is still lame
Ironically, T3 is more true to T1 than T2 was. In T1, the theme seemed to be that it's all destiny. Kyle Reese did not know he was John Connor's father. He just went back into time, got the hots for her, and fricked her, creating his son, who will find him again in the future and give him the mission to go back in time to frick his mom again in a weird time loop of events. Even the photo of Sarah Connor at the end (which that little mexican boy took) is the same photo which Kyle Reese was shown to have in the dream / flash back segments.
And of course, in T1, there is no hint of them trying to change the future or to prevent Skynet taking over. It's more like "these things will come pass. I'm here to protect you" they are preserving events, not changing them. T2 is all about "nah frick that, let's change the future of mankind", and T3 circles back around to the destiny theme.
I love it: the concept of fate always winning out no matter how much you fight it or thought you won, is a nice angle on the formula. However having it act out a bit like an absurd surreal comedy throughout and then end on despair and loss with just the tiniest little bit of hope is such a good setup for an ending that hits the spot.
It is highly underrated because people just expected more of T1 and/or T2, and of course everyone would have complained if that's what it had been.
Nah, it is great and deserves its place with the first two in a trilogy that is classic. Shame they fricked it up afterwards, should either have ended after T3 or made a new trilogy set during adult Kyles adventures.
It's not that great a movie, but compared to the later movies and most modern Hollywood trash, it's actually decent. >Kristanna Loken's TX is a good villain. The humor ruined it.this franchise was not meant for humor like that.
>made a new trilogy set during adult Kyles adventures.
Terminator salvation was an attempt at that but they abandoned the initial tone of the future as , dark and horrorible with laser weapons and superterminator tanks. Instead replaced it with sand and desert with no interesting robots, just lots of sky drones. All the lasers are replaced with ballistic rifles. It has no originality and squandered its potential. It's too far gone to go back now as they have made it even more ridiculous and convoluted than I thought they could have, with another on the way to make it even dumber.
Pretty sure that was in one of the even more terrible early drafts of this film, a female terminator made of some kind of organised plasma called “sentient frequency matter”. As fricking awful as Brancato and Ferris were as writers, the Kurtzman and Orci of their day, some of the earlier scripts were even worse than theirs.
I saw it when it came out and I was 13 years old. I remember thinking it was just okay and a downgrade from the first two. I rewatched it a couple of years ago and hated it. The bad attempts at humor, the villain has no personality and the plot is just a lame rehash.
It was good but messed up with the ending. They could’ve succeeded but then the virus happens another way but it’s not a complete apocalypse. 4 and 5 are ok but dark fate gets confusing
I wish they had kept some of the scenes from where they're making the first t800's and you see Arnold being a soldier with a silly voice as the inspiration for the model talking about it. And then one of the board room guys saying "can we change the voice?" and one of the developers with Arnold's voice says something like "we can make it happen".
Some of those aspects were cool, but deleted scenes.
When it came out it was shit, now it seems like a masterpiece compared to contemporary films. Now that could just be because it came out when I was four but even then most movies these days lack certain magic.
not as good as 1 or 2 and a pointless sequel but it has some great action and it looks like a masterpiece compared to all the dogshit that came after it
I dig it enough but it lacks the soul of the first 2. Claire Danes was my Hollywood crush around the time the movie came out but man is she largely unmemorable in it, the red hair doesn't suit her either.
It possibly has one of the greatest movie endings of all time. There's something off about the movie though, maybe too much downtime between action scenes near the beginning.
The writing and acting is super cringe but overall it's not as bad as some people make it out to be, it has some good action and Kristanna Loken is hot, but as a sequel it's shit especially since T2 wrapped everything up so well.
The nihilistic ending isn't something I expected but looking back the "Judgement day is inevitable" thing was clearly just an excuse for some shitty sequels.
Could have been good, and has its moments, but the soft stench of 2003 PG-13 is all over it. You can feel the post 911 safeness in it, even though it's not as pussified as it'd be if they made it now.
yeah, in just that brief shot in t2 he looks like a hardened vet with scars and a commanding presence. i guess maybe by judgement day john basically knew terminators inside and out and that would give you an edge to rally up a resistance but you also need charisma.
I liked the ending. The idea of holing up with Claire Danes in a Pentagon-tier bomb shelter is pretty comfy. Also the bathroom robot fight scene was pretty kino. Otherwise it was pretty generic.
It's Terminator 2 but dumber, but Terminator 2 is such a strong foundation it ends up being entertaining even if it's a much lesser copy. Very strong ending that elevates the movie more than it deserves.
Nick Stahl is a great actor who has the unfortunate condition known as lookslikeamonkeyitis. Probably could have been bigger if it wasn't for that and the drug addiction.
nick stahl and claire danes were good, when i saw a saitek X45 joystick and throttle were being used to control the particle accelerator i was a bit taken aback. end was ok but i’m sick of the little time travel skirmishes i want the full on machine war and i will not be satisfied until we get a cameron written and directed conclusion as such.
Severely underrated movie. It has the unfortunate quality of being compared to T1 and T2 which are basically the best sci-fi action movies ever created.
T1 - my favourite
T2 - action classic
T3 - fun fun fun
T4 - like The Road Warrior with Terminators
T5 - stupid and ruins the franchise, but it has some entertainment value
T6 - woke garbage
SCC - first episode is good, rest is boring. Glau is hot though.
Why didn't her career take off?
Having a terminator that is liquid and physical metal at the same time is really stupid.
She ended up being a conspiracy weirdo that believed in immortality rings and miracle cures (antivax) Hollywood doesn't like those.

The TX is more durable than a T1000, and can still maintain its disguise after gunshots or other damage, unlike the T800
>Implying
The TX could melt down the T-1000 with its plasma weapons. Since molten metal destroyed the T-1000, so could the TX with its plasma arsenal.
And don't forget that Arnie was also an upgraded model, the t-850. Probably stronger and more durable too.
People always talk shit about TX but it was a great terminator (and Kristana Loken did very well).
Wouldn't frick Harvey
shit breasts
I remember her being in some absolute shit after T3 like TV movies and an Uwe Boll film, so I’m going to assume she had a terrible agent.
she's a crazy dyke irl
She had a bitter conflict with other actresses on TV show who hated her in mean girls-style.
Didn't robo-grip the right israelite wiener
She made me take off in that all-womens Expendable movie a few years ago. There's a scene when she's talking about "the choice pussy".
Shes not a very good actress and her breakthrough role was in the first pg13 terminator sequel. Its not exactly a good place to start.
Why didn't she make her arm a horse wiener?
stop trying to give me a hard dick erection anon
Her nude scenes at the beginning was an awakening
everyone looks sleepy and all the energy that T2 and T1 had is gone
i like it though i probably would've hated if i saw it when it came out
Bad movie.
And weirdly, like everything that came after it, the only good acting was from Arnold, a man pretending to be an emotionless robot.
That's cause he doesn't have to pretend
Ok movie
Hate the subliminal advertising (see the Xenadrine truck)
You will take one.

You want the T-X to roast you with her flamethrower?

how was this allowed? take me back to objectifying female sex parts pls
Can she grow... other body parts, with veins on them ?
She's a living arsenal designed to adapt to any combat situation she finds herself in.
So yes. Get that bussy ready.
It's all fine and dandy until you realize her breasts are cold as shit. It would be like putting your dick in a freezer.
Skynet used real tissue cells, that are built around an alloy exoskeleton.
Arnold's terminator had a penis, it's likely she has a vegana as well.
No, there’s living tissue on top. One of the first thing kyle tells Sarah in T1. They are supposed to be able to infiltrate. They need to be real.
Robot woman from the future learns how to prosper in 20th Century Earth in only five minutes!
Trannies can probably do that IRL with their fake breasts.
arnold's commentary on this scene is the funniest shit ever

what made her better than the T-1000? besides boobs
I hate to use this buzzword but it was truly soulless
would be 100 times better if you removed Claire Danes. We went from having interesting badass Sarah Connor to annoying girlboss Katharine Brewster
It was alright but the direction felt cheap, like a TV movie. Some of the acting is fricking cringe
It gets boring when they go to the cemetary
It possibly has one of the greatest movie endings of all time. There's something off about the movie though, maybe too much downtime between action scenes near the beginning.
This arcade cabinet was the shit. I don't think I ever made it past the first level. Frick, I miss being a kid.
>It's the 1990's
>You're in the arcade
>"Midway" is on the side of the cabinet
You know you're in a for a good time.
Bouncy castle goes boing
Was dissapointed when it came and was like 10 Back then
Like many things it has improved with age
Everything else has just tutned to crap. Doesn't make it not shit.
They overlaid kitty cat foley over the explosions.
something goes boom and I hear a tiger scream.
the wilhelm scream wouldve been more appropriate.
is that a can-opener?
Rude
The crane chase scene was pretty doep
the 3rd act is very underrated. villian is underrated. scene with arnie carrying sarah connors coffin underrated
Complete dogshit that destroyed the series and paved the way for a torrent of more crap attempts to follow T2.
not sure why they made John Connor such a pussy
I liked when the hot machine had an orgasmic reaction to Connor's blood. Apparently it triggered brainlets in Japan.
It would have been better if this guy could act
pic
What the frick was Van Dammes problem?
I just could never accept this ugly homosexual was meant to be John Connor after how he looked in T2 and future scenes
yeah, in just that brief shot in t2 he looks like a hardened vet with scars and a commanding presence. i guess maybe by judgement day john basically knew terminators inside and out and that would give you an edge to rally up a resistance but you also need charisma.
I liked the ending. The idea of holing up with Claire Danes in a Pentagon-tier bomb shelter is pretty comfy. Also the bathroom robot fight scene was pretty kino. Otherwise it was pretty generic.
Dunno why I used "pretty" 3 times there. I'm gonna go lay down.
cause claire danes is pretty
i jerk offd to some of her scenes in homeland
Watching her as a kid probably gave me a fetish for women in leather clothes
It's Terminator 2 but dumber, but Terminator 2 is such a strong foundation it ends up being entertaining even if it's a much lesser copy. Very strong ending that elevates the movie more than it deserves.
better than the movies after it - worse than the movies before it.
I really like the actor who played John Connor in it though.
Nick Stahl is a great actor who has the unfortunate condition known as lookslikeamonkeyitis. Probably could have been bigger if it wasn't for that and the drug addiction.
it's shit
That movie was the definition of "we have zero ideas so just gonna copy T2 ok"
Oh wait no they had one to show John Connor as a pathetic man.
Entire movie is mid. Ending is 10/10.
Why hasn't this movie gotten the 4k UHD treatment like all the rest of the Terminator films?
nick stahl and claire danes were good, when i saw a saitek X45 joystick and throttle were being used to control the particle accelerator i was a bit taken aback. end was ok but i’m sick of the little time travel skirmishes i want the full on machine war and i will not be satisfied until we get a cameron written and directed conclusion as such.
Severely underrated movie. It has the unfortunate quality of being compared to T1 and T2 which are basically the best sci-fi action movies ever created.
But on its own, T3: RotM is an 8.5/10. Fun movie.
