The Acolyte viewership numbers are worse than Ahsokas

>The Acolyte fell somewhat shy of the most recent Star Wars series premiere on Disney+: Ahsoka drew 14 million views over its first five days in August 2023.
It’s over.

Honestly there was always fire in Star Wars. But this is really a campfire while in the movies you can see that there is air bursting out of the damage or explosion.

Also note that episode 1 and 2 were released simultaneously but Disney is only reporting numbers for episode 1.

      No.

Fun fact: one of the reasons studios aren’t allowed to own theaters anymore is because they’d just say whatever they wanted sold the most tickets and there was no way to verify because receipts didn’t list the movie name.

Daily reminder that the only D+ show to crack the top 10 in Nielsen streaming ratings is Bluey, a show very much based on family values.
Acolyte cost 180 million and didn’t even crack top 10. That’s just sad.

Also reminder: Nielsen is basing its ratings on social media mentions now

If you watch The Acolyte, be aware that the final product cost $750,000 a minute to create. That’s $12,500 a second. Can you actually see that expense on the screen?

Anon, anybody who watches the acolyte has terminal braindamage and is incapable of seeing where any expense went.

But we don't know Ahsoka's opening numbers. We know what it got after 7 days which people keep comparing to the Acolyte's 24 hours.

The actual quality of these shows is irrelevant. This is far bigger than ahsoka or the acolyte. It's the idea that these shows will just continue in perpetuity, therefore none of them can have consequences.
For star wars to become interesting again they need to wipe the slate totally and utterly clean and go 1000 years into the future and just start it all over again. Try and make a great new trilogy and work it from there.
