honestly good. The Batman was fine, but that's all it was. It checked every "Batman" box I needed, but absolutely nothing more. Nothing was unexpected, nothing wowed me, none of the acting really stood out. As much as I dislike what most MCU movies generally end up looking like, this was just as bad as being a boring toy commercial
I guess Zaslav wants Reeves to rework the script so that they can bring The Batman into their reboot universe, but it's a mistake. It's fine they want to do a focused, interconnected cinematic universe, but Batman is stronger separate from it. The same holds true for X-Men. Both of these properties are square pegs, better alone.

Also, they should take a lesson from marvel here. The first iron man was functionally unconnected to much of anything else, and the second only had a teaser post-credits beyond bringing up the existence of shield, which isn't really a large part of the film since they existed in the first movie.
They need to slow roll the universe while trying to lock down actual movies for their main 3. Right now, DC has done well with Shazam and Aquaman, okay with WW, and terrible with everything else. It's a mistake to dive into the justice league until you've got the big 3 actually figured out.

I did kinda like the original plan of having The Batman a prequel set in the DCEU, before Reeves decided that it needs to be it's own universe.
