Unironically it would be extremely difficult to pin any charges on Jigsaw.

Is this a meme? He would almost certainly be charged with murder. You can't kidnap someone and subject them to torture with the expectation that they'll die. If Manson could be charged with murder, so would Jigsaw

If the stuff he was doing was perfectly legal, why did he need to set up his traps in abandoned warehouses instead of public spaces? Surely if it was legal he'd have nothing to hide and would just need a permit.

if you think about it, there is no way to lock him up
    >but that officer that he killed
it was in his property and I am sure that's not illegal

what, you thought you could put people's lives in direct danger and give them a convoluted way to escape, and if they die its their fault?

law student here. last semester we covered the jigsaw problem. a supreme court judge came and lectured us on it. he said jigsaw, while coming close to the line of criminal behavior, never actually crossed the line, and therefore could never be convicted in at trial. and that doesn't even take into consideration jigsaw's complete lack of criminal intent. convicting jiggy is the holy grail of criminal law. we just don't have the legal minds capable of beating it at this time.
