I read the comic today after seeing all the memeing about this trailer
good fricking lord what did they do to it. Did they literally interpret Eric as DA JOKAH? Why has the goth/post-punk undertones been replaced with fricking shitty Soundcloud zoomer rap?
The comic was too depressing. It's the only comic book ever made that's genuine art. The emotional power of it was astounding. I hope no fellow man ever goes through what James did. I don't know how I wouldn't kill myself given how emotional I get over girls, much less losing the love of my life like that. Frick. Wells up my eyes just thinking about it. The way he drew her with such love and softness.
As other have said it, it's all about making it "to the new generation" or such crap. The original comic and the adaptation is fricking grimy, dark and all in all everything 90's. Though I think that the trailer doesn't look like complete shit, it is still fricking far from what the source material is.
